Mediocre food. Cheap design. Loud bachelorette parties. This just wasn't our scene. All of the employees were very nice, but sadly the food was subpar and bland, and there were about 7 incredible loud bachelorette parties. I like a lively place, but this was simply annoying and everyone else kept staring at them hoping they'd take the hint to pipe down. They didn't. We won't be returning here.
Noisy to the point of not hearing our friends across the table. Most of the meals were good, but the lamb shank was really dry The server seemed rushed and not personable at all. We’ve had better experiences there, but not this time.
Always great food and service in the best of Palm Springs
In a word: "great." A recommendation - each day the chef prepares and starter with dates. Order it. Mine was great - bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese. Also, they have 3-course menus which are very nice and I can recommend that too. Enjoy.
We have been patrons of Trio Since it first opened. I have to say the quality of the food has gone from a 10 (perfect) to about a 3 (not so good). It used to be great! Now we will not be going there anymore. Cold, Dry, tasteless and not good at all food is not what we like to have....Too Bad.
Great Prime Rib Tuesday, but Staff was arrogant and very inattentive.
The waiters were very quick in taking our orders and bringing the food. They were also very cheerful and gave my mother flowers for Mother’s Day. The food was delicious, though the Roasted Half Chicken was a bit difficult to cut and eat due to the bones. The lava cake for dessert was also amazing.
Service was not what I expected and food was just so so. The omelette was over cooked leaving eggs dry
This is our 2nd time here this trip and the experience was much better than our first. The food was very good, the service great, and we weren't rushed through dinner. Overall, a really great experience.
This restaurant is my favorite in PS! I have been here 8 nights out of 12! Just love it for every reason possible!!!
We frequent this restaurant often. Either lunch, happy hour or dinner, we always have a good time and great food!! Thank you.
Our first evening in Palm Springs at one of our favorite restaurants! Having roasted artichoke hearts and a Hefeweizen wheat beer from Los Angeles, very delicious! & Washington Riesling, Lee likes them both.! (I’m amazed, but pleased) The two main courses are Trio Angus beef hamburger and Burgundy braised lamb shank All super delicious.
We always go to TRIO when in town. It has always been our go to spot, however after last nights experience we will not be going back there. From the start of our arrival with a reservation (for 10 people at 7:00 P.M. ) already in place, they did not have our table available. 25 minutes after our reservation time they finally sat us. The hostess (black young lady) was showing ATTITUDE, staring at us, giving us evil eyes, curling her lips at us, towards us as we were waiting patiently for our table to be ready. UNACCEPTABLE !!! Two of our friends had an issue at the bar with their wine while waiting for us to arrive. They asked for the manager who came over and gave us a 10% off card to use that night for the mistakes. When we did get seating by the hostess her attitude continued while directing us to the table.
Our server, Justin, told us he heard we weren't happy about the delay. I told him about the 10% card given to us and his reply was 'That isn't good in my section'. Justin then proceeded to tell us 'He wasn't a very good server'. We thought he was just being funny. Well the rest of the night PROVED it wasn't a joke. Very poor service. Asked for more drinks, never got them. Asked for more bread, never got it. Never came around to see if we needed refills, how everything was, etc etc. .
Thew the check on the table, didn't take the 10% off. He needs training as does the rest of your staff.
On a very positive note, The food was Excellent. Kudos to the kitchen!
We won't be back because of this experience !!
Mediocre service and food
Not worth the price
Too many tables crammed into the restaurant
Service- never came back to ask for any more cocktails. No one ever stopped by to refill any water glasses
Noticed wait staff carrying a tall dessert which fell
Over on plate. Three wait staff used hands to place dessert back into a tall form. Totally disgusting
Our waiter was overwhelmed and under-delivering. We were seated for a very long time with a lot of help running around, but no waiter in sight. We would have walked out, but Summer, the manager stepped in and got drink orders, and ultimately took our food order. Our assigned waiter was clearly over it, and did nothing to try and do any customer recovery. I don’t know if he had already written off our table as a zero tip (we did give him a tip), but just an overall bad experience. Unfortunately, it filtered our entire opinion.
If it hadn’t been for Summer, we would have walked out and rated everything 1 star.
Trio Restaurant never disappoints! The selection and service is top notch. Cocktails are delightful. Dining outside is always enjoyable.
Would not recommend. Was there for my boyfriends birthday. Very uncomfortable atmosphere, largely ignored even though it was not busy at all. House drinks are over priced and weak, deep fried artichoke hearts were legitimately disgusting...I was very unimpressed. Not sure why ownership insists on their staff wearing those extremely tacky polo shirts either. I will never go back.
I've been going to Trio for months. I have never been disappointed in their food / menu selections. The servers are very attentive and courteous. Watch out for the coffee, on my last visit the bottom of the cup was filled with coffee grounds. Not a very nice surprise. The server comped the coffee from the bill.
Our group of 7 loved our dinners and appreciated the great friendly service.
Always a great experience!! Food and cocktails are great. Service is very good!!
Trio never disappoints! It’s our go to restaurant every time we’re in town ( and often multiple visits within a weekend!). We’ve recommended it to many friends and they are always thankful we did.
The food was OUTSTANDING at Trio! Highly recommend for quality of the food. However, if you go, make sure you do not get seated in the very back corner. There was zero ventilation there, making it incredibly hot. Despite the fact we asked at least three times they seemingly couldn't adjust anything. We heard from other patrons that it was cold in the rest of the restaurant. So, definitely go, but do NOT sit in the back. We were all sweating the entire time (and since it's still in the 90s in Palm Springs this time of year at night, that makes it uncomfortable!)
It was a Saturday night and there were many open tables while we were there and still when we were leaving. We felt rushed from the moment we sat down. Our server was nice, but everything was too fast. It was the last night of our vacation and we planned a leisurely dinner with drinks. As soon as our drinks arrived we were asked to order. We ordered a salad and it arrived to the table 2 minutes after we ordered it. We waited until after eating the salad to order entrees. Entrees arrived less than 5 minutes later. So, within about 20 minutes, we had gone from drinks, salads to entrees. (It also makes me think that everything in the kitchen is pre-made.) Our dinner was over 45 minutes after sitting and that included paying the bill. We went somewhere else for drinks and dessert.
We went on a Saturday night and it was very noisy. Many large parties and very uncomfortable. Sat outside for dessert and that made it better. The staff was very kind and helpful
Amazing service! Chicken marsella is great.
Large parties can really take its toll on the dining experience but other than that distraction, it was fine.
Trio is always excellent. Tont finds the very best people and the very best chefs(s).
I have been a steady customer at Trio since it opened. My experience was uncharacteristically sub-par this visit. They were not fully prepared to handle a large party and, thus, service suffered on all fronts. It took forever to get drinks from the bar, the food took forever coming out of the kitchen, a favorite dish was not up to it's normal standard, and my AMEX bill was run incorrectly so now I have to return to the restaurant to sort it out. All in all, the first very disappointing visit - with newcomers to the Desert - in 8 years.
Good food. Nice place. Doesn't seem as good as last time, though we did have something different this time, so maybe it was just this time's selection.
Great food, service, and the best apple cobbler I ever had.
Remembered it as better. The menu was really boring. The formula is old and needs a big redo..... Will not go back. Was always a bit fun and a decent value but seems to have lost it!
We looked forward to eating where Palm Springs goes to eat, but we were disappointed. Once seated, it took awhile to just get water -- we had to flag someone down. Once a waiter showed up, he was very courteous and helpful; however we were disappointed with our meals. I had the prime rib special -- but it was nothing special and my spouse had the sole, which she said was pretty tasteless. Not horrible, but not an experience that would have us come back any time soon.
Love Trio ! Great happy hour too!
Always a good time at Trio! Have dined there many times over the years.
We have been to this restaurant many times before. This time it was not up to its usual standards. One of us has an allergy and tried to work with the waiter to get dishes that did not contain the ingredient. When the dish came, they informed me that the sauce and the starch had been removed. They served the dish without offering an alternative. This has never happened to me in any restaurant before. When I complained, they did bring me a starch that was free of the ingredient. This should have been arranged before the entree was served. They should not have assumed i would just forego any alternative. The key lime pie for desert was dry and either over-baked or several days old. All in all a very disappointing experience.
I had the date salad and added chicken- it was SO good! So much flavor. We shared the artichoke heart appetizer and that was really good as well! Our waitress was from Huntington Beach and was super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and gave us the perfect amount of attention. I’d definitely come back for the same things!
Nice, but too noisy.
Our group was celebrating years and reconnecting after being apart. Food and wine/drinks incredible and our server, Terrence, made the evening very special. Kelly from the bar area provided additional fun. Highly recommend!!
This was my third visit to Trio. Each time was pleasant but this time was spectacular. Jerry was a terrific server. Really friendly and totally on top of our needs. The big surprise factor was how well he listened. AND remembered our special requests. The food was beautifully presented and super tasty. Even though it was in the middle of Stagecoach and White Party and the restaurant was packed, when we arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation, not 1 but 2 people offered to help us and we were seated immediately. Jerry never missed a beat even with a very full section.
Nice job Trio and Jerry.
We will be back!
