Trio Restaurant - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
Trio was packed on Tuesday evening and our party was late for our reservation. Thankfully we were seated quickly and enjoyed a fantastic meal. The stuff dates are worth the trip, and our main courses of haddock and sole were perfectly prepared. Service was outstanding; appreciated the suggestions by the waiter. Try the butterscotch pudding; excellent!!!
First visit to Trio since the fire in 2017. It was Valentine's Day and the menu was set. The ambiance was nice and service was fine. Dinner was just okay, but the value wasn't there. That was disappointing. I should have made a better entree selection. I expected more when we split the bill and it topped out at $85 that included a glass of white wine,
A friend and I each raved about how tasty our meals were and what good service we had. Unfortunately, we had to compare notes after we left the restaurant. It's too noisy and loud for any conversation below shouting. Really like this place but the noise level is unacceptable. Perhaps the patio would work. I'll check that out sometime in the future.
We love Trio for good food and good service. We like to go when we don’t want to cook but don’t want to spend the whole evening in a restaurant. The service is fast so we can be in and out in an hour. If you want to take your time you can make it an evening if you like. My only complaint is that in certain parts of the restaurant the music is too loud and makes conversation impossible.
I recommended Trio for brunch with friends I had not seen for ten years. The food was good. Unfortunately the service was inattentive at best. We were seated quickly and our orders taken promptly. After that our waiter was hardly seen at all until the check was deposited after a long wait for it. Coffee cups sat empty for a long stretch before we could get someone's attention for a first refill. Then they sat empty again for the remainder of the brunch. We were never offered a second refill by anyone and couldn't get anyone's attention to request one. A request for ketchup when the plates were delivered took more than ten minutes before a small paper cup of ketchup would be plopped down on the table. I do recommend the wild mushroom omelet though.
Not bad but not great. Food was okay; nothing spectacular. Has Chicken Parmesan Sandwich: too much breading on the chicken, needed a bit of salt, tomato sauce was bland, could not taste any parmesan (hence the need for salt). Butterscotch pudding was reasonably good. Service very attentive - every staff member I encountered was professional and friendly. Might go back and give it another try since they do have a very good reputation.
Manager stopped at table to see if we liked our food. Three of us had the macaroni and it was very dry so we told him so. His response was, "Well, it still tastes good, doesn't it?" My husband had the meatloaf and couldn't figure out why it was so dark. Whatever it was he didn't enjoy it. Only one person had a dish she enjoyed, the rest of us ate what we could and left the rest on our plates. We were very disappointed because we had invited two other couples to join us for our wedding anniversary. That's another thing. They knew it was our anniversary and didn't acknowledge in any way.
The food is delicious, a diverse variety of items. Their prix fixe is a great bargain. The mushroom enchilada is my favorite, but the sole is also very tasty. We live in southern California so only get to Palm Springs a couple of times a year and always eat there.
This was a very good restaurant. We went for the Prix Fixe options and I asked the waiter Dominic about the sole--he asked me what my top 3 choices were and then asked about what I had eaten recently--good questions. He said I will surprise you--I had never done that before. He brought out the pot roast and it was great. Efficient service without being to overbearing.
I would recommend this place to others.
