Trio Restaurant - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
Really inconsistent food. I took my family who were visiting. The mussels must be pre-cooked and heated because my sister's serving had ice in it. My brother got the tuna tower and marvelled that it had exactly zero flavour though it looked great. Sole dish and shrimp linguine were wonderful. Wedge salad came dripping in dressing. I have enjoyed Trio in the past but it is not worth the hit or miss menu to bother going back.
Very disappointed! I had a reservation for 3 for a Birthday dinner. The restaurant was not busy but some how we were overlooked for any type of bread nor were we asked if we wanted any. We ordered our meals a short time later two appetizers arrived with the statement that had run out of the third request. Why were we not told that as soon as the order was placed in the kitchen? We had to eat the apps as they were "supposed to be hot. I say "supposed" as they were at best warm. We finished as the third app arrived. Then the dinner came and my order was wrong so back to the kitchen it went once again the others were nearly done when mine arrived. The waiter never came by ti apologize or see if the other dinners were OK. He avoided us like the plague. It was only when he brought the check did he give a halfhearted apology. He knew we were regulars and whether or not we were he should have tried to smooth things over.
Trio was packed on Tuesday evening and our party was late for our reservation. Thankfully we were seated quickly and enjoyed a fantastic meal. The stuff dates are worth the trip, and our main courses of haddock and sole were perfectly prepared. Service was outstanding; appreciated the suggestions by the waiter. Try the butterscotch pudding; excellent!!!
First visit to Trio since the fire in 2017. It was Valentine's Day and the menu was set. The ambiance was nice and service was fine. Dinner was just okay, but the value wasn't there. That was disappointing. I should have made a better entree selection. I expected more when we split the bill and it topped out at $85 that included a glass of white wine,
A friend and I each raved about how tasty our meals were and what good service we had. Unfortunately, we had to compare notes after we left the restaurant. It's too noisy and loud for any conversation below shouting. Really like this place but the noise level is unacceptable. Perhaps the patio would work. I'll check that out sometime in the future.
We love Trio for good food and good service. We like to go when we don’t want to cook but don’t want to spend the whole evening in a restaurant. The service is fast so we can be in and out in an hour. If you want to take your time you can make it an evening if you like. My only complaint is that in certain parts of the restaurant the music is too loud and makes conversation impossible.
I recommended Trio for brunch with friends I had not seen for ten years. The food was good. Unfortunately the service was inattentive at best. We were seated quickly and our orders taken promptly. After that our waiter was hardly seen at all until the check was deposited after a long wait for it. Coffee cups sat empty for a long stretch before we could get someone's attention for a first refill. Then they sat empty again for the remainder of the brunch. We were never offered a second refill by anyone and couldn't get anyone's attention to request one. A request for ketchup when the plates were delivered took more than ten minutes before a small paper cup of ketchup would be plopped down on the table. I do recommend the wild mushroom omelet though.
Not bad but not great. Food was okay; nothing spectacular. Has Chicken Parmesan Sandwich: too much breading on the chicken, needed a bit of salt, tomato sauce was bland, could not taste any parmesan (hence the need for salt). Butterscotch pudding was reasonably good. Service very attentive - every staff member I encountered was professional and friendly. Might go back and give it another try since they do have a very good reputation.
