Trio Restaurant - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
I was pleasantly surprised by just how GOOD the food and service were at Trio restaurant. After reading some of the reviews and looking at the tag line "where Palm Springs goes to eat" I was little hesitant. I mean, that's a bold statement. Well, if Palm Springs isn't eating at Trio, they are missing out. Service was fast, excellent, and courteous. Not too intrusive and knowledgeable enough to make helpful suggestions. I got the special - pork tenderloin schnitzel, and it was excellent. Crispy, thin, perfectly cooked and with a very tasty gravy on top. My wife had the Norwegian trout and she is usually a serious seafood snob. She usually only likes freshwater trout and didn't realize this was a red meat fish - which isn't her favorite - but she really enjoyed it and especially the side of mushroom risotto. My only regret is we weren't able to fit dessert in due to being too darn full. Only complaint - and it is slight - is the attached bar can get a little noisy.
We had a great time at Trio for brunch. In addition to the bottomless mimosas, the menu selections are varied and well thought out. The service is always good and the food is prompt, warm and flavorful. We will definitely be back to this restaurant for brunch.
The waiter seemed a little scattered. She didn't ask if we wanted drinks or appetizers. She was a little slow in checking on us after the food arrived. The food was very good and there was enough meat on both our plates to bring home for another meal. Overall, a good experience and value.
Other than being mis gendered we loved going to Trio this time around . Just suggest if a waiter doesn't know, to use gender neutral terms "hey, welcome to trip without the "hey ladies, what can I get you ladies" he was lovely though and didn't want to embarrass him nor myself by correcting him in public. Will ALWAYS come back especially for the butternut squash ravioli!!!
The prix fixe menu at Trio offers a wide variety of selections at great value. Food here is consistently good, and service tonight was exceptional. Jason was personable, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant also offers a full bar.
Fun evening. Our server, Dominic, was great. I observed that he adroitly adjusted his manner to that of the guests in his section, which demonstrates great sensitivity and professionalism. As I enjoy a few hundred meals out each year, I’ve come to appreciate exceptional service, and my sardonic personality often stimulates mixed results. Dominic “got it.”
The food’s good, and the menu choices refreshing. The decor is “darling,” with desert tones of varying intensities, sort of a “mod orange meets Coachella sand.” It works.
This was our first time at Trio. We ordered the rib eye, lamb shank, and macaroni and cheese to share between four of us, and we still had food left over. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the macaroni and cheese is so good it would be a reason for me to make a return visit the next time I am in town!
Made dinner reservations on Open Table for our group of three. Upon arriving we were immediately seated at our table and quickly provided with menus, water and a warm bread basket. The ambiance is fabulous. It’s warm, inviting and festive.
Our server was Sarah D. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She had the right level of personal service—polite but not intrusive. She was very adept at anticipating when we may need something and was at our table to check on our meal and another round of drinks.
Everyone throughly enjoyed their starters and entrees. The food was absolutely delicious, so we ordered a desert to share. Again, it was all divine.
Will definitely return again!!!
The great dining experience began with having Dominic as our server. He knew the menu knew how to figure out my vegan friends option and knew how to make sure the dinner was enjoyable from start to finish. Dominic is an employee you need to treasure. The food was delicious and we definitely dine at Trio again
I have gone to this restaurant numerous times for lunch and it was quite good. This time, we were seated and it took forever to get any service. The waiter walked by several times and didn't even offer us a drink option. The meals arrived quickly after we finally ordered. However, getting a drink refill was impossible and paying the bill took forever. The restaurant was not full. So not sure what the issue was. I don't plan to return here in the future.
Terrible. Super noisy. Can't hear what table partner is saying without shouting. Overcrowded. Tables absolutely next to each other. Screaming kids running around. Arrived early 7:45 for 8:00 reservation, was told would not be seated until 8:30 earliest. Gave up and left. I had been told it was noisy and uncomfortable, but thought I would try it. Big mistake. I would never recommend it. Would also tell others about noise, inability to converse with partners, delays, overcrowding tables and total discomfort. Avoid it!
Trio is one of our standbys in Palm Springs so my husband requested it for our Thanksgiving dinner. Traditional turkey dinner on the prix fixe menu way overpriced. Three courses way overpriced - more than most three course combinations on the regular menu, no bargains here, and the portions were not generous, which is unusual for Trio. If they’d thrown in a glass of wine, might have been worth the $. The service was excellent, with the cute touch of a construction paper cornucopia on the table. Too loud and fast-paced for a dinner that should be warm and leisurely. We’ve been there many times and will be back but not for a holiday.
Enjoyed Trio’s Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday, turkey and all the trimmings. Excellent. Moist turkey, good sides, and the pumpkin bread pudding was a standout. We come to PS monthly, and go to Trio for a meal nearly every time. The early dinner special is fantastic, best dinner value in town. We always have a good meal and a good time, with only one small issue: at peak dining time it tends to be pretty noisy, and it is made moreso when the music is too loud, which happens from time to time. Overall a great place to eat.
Do not be fooled by the appearance of this restaurant. Great food, executed very well. We had a great experience, thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Unpretentious, service was attentive (and they did not ask "how is everything " when your mouth is full). WI'LL DEFINITELY GO BACK AND ADD TO OUR FAVORITES. ...ENJOY.
I have eaten here before and it was good. Tonight not at all, the worst food ever! Our appies and main dishes both came out cold. My husbands bbq ribs were just awful, the sauce tasted like it was straight from a cheap store bought bottle. My yankee pot roast along with being cold had zero flavor, I’m not sure how they achieved this but they did. My dish had one sad carrot on top that wasn’t cooked through, it was hard and cold like it was thrown on top of the sad grey-brown slop they tried to pass off as pot roast.
Talking with a few locals afterwards, they all said the place has gone down hill and wouldn’t eat there. We recommend the same, stay away!
What a great new find for us! Great reviews on Yelp so we gave it a try & were not disappointed! Loved the stuffed dates, the variety is enough to please all! Anthony was our server & he was on it! Friendly, accommodating & efficient! Prices were very fair! Give it a try!
