Trio Restaurant - Palm Springs Ratings and Reviews
The place is always crowded. We just happen to prefer more quiet and subdued restaurants. Trio is loud and "clattery." Our server disappeared a few times. The food was mediocre, although reasonably priced. My glass of iced tea remained empty the entire evening. Not a place - at least in the evening - that we would want to go again.
Service was excellent. Would highly recommend the 3 course prix option.
We had 3 different appetizers --beet salad very good and the bacon wrapped stuffed date --fabulous. Also tried the artichoke.
Entrees --many choices and very good. Desserts were just ok. Brownie was a little 'hard'.
Liked my pumpkin bread pudding.
Would recommend. Does not disappoint.
Trendy place in downtown Palm Springs. Food was OK - my wife had the seafood and risotto special, which was very good. I ordered the bone-in filet mignon, which was poorly cooked - dry outside, and underdone inside. But our waiter (Dominc) was great - he alone was worth the visit.
Had not been to Trio in awhile because of some "less than enthusiastic" experiences with the food quality, and the fact that it had become too popular. Gave it another try, and am glad I went back. It was a late dinner on a Tuesday night, and the place was quiet. But, food and service were very nice. Will be back again soon!
We ate here several times last year and really enjoyed it. And it's hard to beat for value: 3 courses for $20 as long as you arrive before 6 pm. This year, we've eaten there only once. The food was not as good as we remembered, but maybe we ordered the wrong things. Nonetheless, at that price, it is well worth trying!
Trio was always on our itinerary when we'd visit Palm Springs, but now we live here so it will be a regular stop. It has always been great. We loved the crawfish pot pie when it was on the menu but is now only an occasional special (hint, hint - put it back on the menu!). Terry is a fantastic server, entertaining and very knowledgeable. Ask him to make a selection for you and you'll be very happy once you answer a few questions.
This was our second visit to Trio and once again it was worth the 30 minute drive. Very eclectic customers from all walks of life, after all it is in downtown Palm Springs. Our first visit to Trio was during the middle of the week (Wed) and the evening was perfect. This visit was a Sat. night and the kitchen had a couple slip-ups (warm, not hot food) and all three dinners did not arrive at the same time. Restaurant management resolved the issues immediately and adjusted our bill appropriately. Great menu selection with choices for all palates and attentive service. We will return in mid-week.
Fun, vibrant atmosphere and good food. We come for the special prix fixe and had a fine meal. Nothing too frou frou or fancy. Not “fine dining” — at least from our experience — but a good place for value. The crowds proved we weren’t alone. Will try the regular menu next time. Recommended!
Food is NOT good. Went there for my husbands bday and our babymoon for our one night in town. The dates were the best part of the meal .. which doesn't say much. A $32 mediocre steak with cold sides and a veggie burger with stale bread and cold oily fries. Yuck! Disappointed that we spent out one night out here :( The server was nice but it wasn't the type of place where the staff or manager is really that concerned about going above and beyond. I could go into more detail but I don't think there is much of a point !
Great staff. Great vibe. Food not so great. I ordered pate to start with - but it was too hard and I had to slice it rather than spread it. Entree was meatloaf - unseasoned. I expected better from a restaurant who's tag line is "where Palm Springs comes to eat".
