We had the Brussels sprouts and Jalepenos along with The salmon poutine which were all good. Fish and chips were delicious but the pieces of fish were small and not a lot. The cheesesteak was delicious and the dipping sauce was very flavorful. Would eat here again
Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The food was absolutely delicious. Will be eager to dine at Trillium again.
Teally impressed with the food. Will go back if in Boise ahaim.
The food was excellent as always. The service is always top notch as well. It’s a wonderful place to go for a dinner date.
Creative menu executed well. Service pleasant, atmosphere is very nice. Drinks are well made. Nice place for a Date or business dinner.
Hello! Thank you for dining with us in Trillium recently. Your rating indicates that we could have done better. And of course we always can! These ratings and reviews are very important to us so would you be willing to provide any details where things fell flat? it would help us tremendously. We're always looking for opportunities to tune things for the better. I appreciate any feedback you can provide. Again, thank you and I hope you can join us again sometime! Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
Solid menu, something for everyone, and a nice wine list. We enjoyed short ribs and steak frites, prepared perfectly. Desserts made in house and didn’t disappoint. Very nice atmosphere. Attentive service. A great date spot.
We loved our experience at Trillium! It has a modern but comfortable atmosphere and excellent food! Our service was wonderful!
First dinner in Boise. Did not disappoint. Loved the innovative menu. We had the stuffed jalapeños and portobello mushrooms appetizer followed by the smocked chicken pizza. The pizza it’s super light and airy with Asiago. Would order everything again. Can’t wait to be back again to visit this restaurant again.
The food was excellent and plentiful. My wife had halibut and said it was excellent and I had trout and it was even better.
Date night for my husband and I. We are always very skeptical about new places, especially when it's a little more "upscale". We were pleasantly surprised about the quality of the food and excellent preparation. The restaurant was a little smaller than I expected, but that was a nice surprise. The decor is upscale but the feeling is comfortable. We will definitely return.
We chose Trillium because we couldn’t get a reservation anywhere else. That being said we were all pleasantly surprised. We all loved our food, drinks and the service was fabulous.
Trillium was a great find for my wife and I. We were on a trip to Boise for our anniversary and when the restaurant found out every one who spoke to us congratulated us on the celebration. The food was incredible, prices were fair, and our waitress was amazing. She made sure we felt comfortable and along with the what staff walking around filling glasses, we never had to worry about finding someone to help us. My wife is pregnant but wanted a fun drink and the waitress made her a special mocktail without any alcohol so she could have something other than water. I would be happy to go anytime back to trillium when we are in Boise and it's my new recommendation when someone asks for a restaurant in the city.
Everything was great, especially the service. Pork shank was a little over done, deserts and appetizers were amazing.
The atmosphere is very inviting. The service is good and the food is consistently good.
I really liked the food aside from the sauce on the savory chicken crepes. It was so salty I couldn't eat much of it. My son loved the biscuits and gravy.
Hi Colleen! I'm really sorry. We smoke our chicken in house and I just checked and it does seem our current batch may have been in the brine a bit too long. I would love to invite you back as my guest if you'd be willing to give it another chance now that we've corrected it. If that's ever something you'd like to do please message me and I'll take care of the rest. In any case, thank you for the wonderful rating and feedback and also for giving Trillium a shot! Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
Amazing service and food! Consistent every time and we always leave happy!
Excellent service really helped make the experience better than it would have been. Went for our 16th Wedding Anniversary. Our server was tremendous - our food was so so - dessert was very good though. For what received - food wise - we felt they were overpriced. We will probably not go back but again our server really helped turn the night around even with the mediocre food and helped us end on a high note.
Hello! I'm really sorry you didn't care for the food during your visit to Trillium. That's really unfortunate. Would you mind providing some details about what you didn't care for? Outside of the price of course. Anything helps us get closer to a perfect product. Thank you for taking time to leave your feedback! Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
I was visiting my daughter at BSU for the weekend and we always love to try new places. She had heard great things about Trillum so we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere had a great vibe, the plates, glasses and mugs are retro and fun and most importantly the food was AMAZING! We had the Almond crusted French toast and the Breakfast Burrito. I would highly recommended both. The French toast though was our favorite of the 2, probably by far some of the best we’ve had. We will definitely be going back.
Hi Becky! I really appreciate the feedback and I'm so glad you had a nice time with us during your visit. We'll be ready for you when you're back in town. Please tell your daughter thank you for suggesting us! :) Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
The service was fantastic! However, the food was just ok. The description of the food was not what we received. When you say “Ballard grilling cheese” and then all we receive is a single slice is ridiculous and the same with saying jicama and instead getting cabbage. Also, I think you could stand to turn the lights down more, it too bright which makes it not as intimate of a setting. Again, our service was great just disappointed by the food.
I'm sorry you didn't care for the food. We put a lot of heart into what we do and certainly don't intend to deceive anyone. I'm not sure what quantity of cheese you expected but it's one of many components in a dish inspired by Molcajete which traditionally has exactly one slice of cheese. We'd have been more than happy to provide more if you wanted it. Similarly the jicama slaw wouldn't be very good if it was largely jicama. In any case, thank you for giving us a chance. Chef Chris Hain
Hard to believe it is a hotel restaurant. It was EXCELLENT! You must try the Stroganoff. It was a Friday during Lent so they left out the beef and just did Portobello Mushrooms and it was amazing. The Cajun Shrimp Mac N Cheese was delicious also. Wish we had left room for dessert but we were too full. The portions are large! Must try.
Hi Annie! I absolutely love it when people are surprised by Trillium. That "hotel restaurant" struggle is real! I like to say that we're a restaurant that happens to be in a hotel. :) I'm really happy to see that you had a great time and I sincerely hope you can join us again sometime. Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
The food was nice. We shared appetizers and had the cauliflower and stuffed jalapenos. My entree' was okay, but nothing special. The drinks were nice and the service was exceptional.
Hi Tonia, thanks for sharing your experience! I was curious if you could tell me what the entree was and what you didn't care for? Any feedback goes a long way to help us improve. I'm glad you enjoyed everything else. Have a great day. Chef Chris Hain
The food is very good. The short ribs are to die for! Service has been great every time we’ve been there. The ambience is okay but you’re very aware you’re eating in a hotel. That’s not necessarily bad, just a little strange if you’re not staying in the hotel.
Hi Laura! Thanks for the review! We really appreciate it and I'm really glad you enjoy the food. :) I hope you have a chance to join us again soon. Take care. Sincerely, Chef Chris Hain
Limited lunch menu. I ordered the BBQ Turkey and Huckleberry sandwich and my partner got the Bison meatloaf. My sandwich was a good size, but the condiments made the bottom bun soggy; halfway through I converted my sandwich to open-faced. The combination of BBQ and Huckleberry just did not go together. Also, I was not expecting the turkey to be pulled, I thought it would be deli-style.
The Bison meatloaf came on top of a bed of gravy and crispy shoestring potatoes. Not sure which item it was, but the dish was extremely salty. If it wasn't for the amount of salt, it would have been more enjoyable.
For the cost, portion and quality of food, we were sadly disappointed and will not be returning.
Hi Laura, I'm terribly sorry you didn't have a good experience with us! It seems we made some mistakes. I would love an opportunity to correct things. Would you be willing to give us another shot as my guest? I'm certain we can do better. My sincerest apologies for an frustration this caused you and your guest. We put a lot of heart into what we do but do fall short at times. Did you happen to mention the issue while you were here? Please consider my offer and have a great day! Chef Chris Hain
Delicious and beautiful food. Great drinks as well. Love the free valet as a service for when downtown is busy.
Great food and wine! Wonderful service. The sauvignon blanc was delicious. I had the salmon, it was perfectly cooked.
Hi Ursula! Thanks for taking time to leave this generous review. We really love to see our efforts making an impact. I truly hope you have a chance to join us again sometime. Take care. Chef Chris Hain
We decided to have dinner at Trillium one evening after work. It was such a pleasant surprise. I love the decor and open kitchen. It has a very modern feel but not too stuffy. The food was excellent and so was the service. I look forward to returning and enjoying another great meal there.
Hi Brenda! Thanks for giving us a shot! It means a lot that you took the time to leave this awesome review and I truly hope you do have a chance to join us again sometime soon. Take care. Chef Chris Hain
Just a little pricy for appetizers
Thank you for the review and generous rating! I'm sorry if the pricing was a bit off-putting. We strive to use the best ingredients available and tend to have larger portions by design but maybe we can adjust things to have a more attractive price point. Let me know if you have any additional feedback you'd like to share to help me pinpoint this. In any case, I hope you'll join us again sometime and thank you for dining with us! Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
The halibut was fantastic! Highly recommend this place!
My husband and I dined at Trillium on Valentine’s Day and it was an amazing experience. We ordered the trout poutine appetizer, the New York steak, and the capicola grilled cheese. The food was delicious and our server was friendly and prompt. We look forward to visiting again soon! The 3 hour complimentary valet was a plus for us too. 👍🏼
Thank you very much for the awesome review. It sounds like we did ok!. We'd love to have you back anytime so please don't be a stranger. Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
My fiancé and I had brunch at Trillium for Valentine’s Day. The food, staff, drinks were all perfect.
Thanks for a great dining experience!
Valentines Dinner was good, it was a busy night, and understandably a bit hectic. We didn’t receive a few items we ordered, but we were ok with that since the portions were big. The filet was cooked perfectly, but way over seasoned and you couldn’t taste the meat. We will try again and will try breakfast, they menu looks amazing. I will add the bar staff was amazing, lots of fun and great drinks!
Dinner is always excellent at Trillium. I great place food is delicious and service is great. I always recommend to people I know family and friends.
Hey thanks so much for the kind words and generous rating! We truly appreciate it. It has a measurable impact on our business. I also want to say thanks for recommending folks. It means a lot. I hope you have a chance to join us again sometime soon. Cheers, Chef Chris Hain
Beautiful spot, cold by big window. Food was amazing and staff very friendly and attentive!
Marin was great and was able to take care of our needs as well as Santos. Good people. We’d come again and looking forward to it.
Overall it was a good experience. The scallops and steak were perfectly cooked. The appetizer, crab cakes, was way too salty and pretty full of filler and not crab. The ambiance could use a little help—it was way too light for an intimate dinner. In that way it felt like a hotel restaurant.
Excellent service and food
Might be the most underrated restaurant in the city of Boise. The food is always creative, unique, and flavorful.
Hey Tim, Thanks for the review! I really appreciate the sentiment and I hope your comments lead others to give us a shot. Thanks for being a repeat guest. You're more than welcome anytime. Take care. Chef Chris Hain
We have found Trillium as one of our regular date night stops. The food is consistently great and the service is always good. We will continue to go back several times a year.
Hi David, Thank you so much for taking time to leave this awesome review and rating. We live and die by the feedback we receive and it means a lot. Particularly right now. We really look forward to seeing you again soon. Regards, Chef Chris Hain
