Try the Brioche Texas Toast or Boudin Eggs Benedict for breakfast, Boudreaux’s Crispy Shrimp Po-Boy for lunch or Post Oak Wood grilled steaks, Gulf Coast Oysters or the Kings Inn Salad. Attire is business casual.
Reservations are not necessary but are recommended.
TRIBUTE’s exclusive Wine Room is available for private dinners, seating up to four guests. Reservations required.
Beautiful dining experience. Recommend for special occasion or date night.
An interesting menu of savory dishes with roots in South and Southeast Texas. The food was enjoyable but the service was slow and impersonal.
Valentines dinners was our first time to Tribute. We found it to be very elegant. Waiters in white coats offered excellent service but not overbearing. Food was very good, a mashup of Texas & New Orleans cuisine. I just wish they offered a Sunday Brunch.
For the reputation of the Houstonian and the high prices they charge, this place is a disappointment. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area and this does not compete.
Newly opened restaurant at The Houstonian - it was the old Olivette. Fabulous new food. Service was impeccable. The new full time wine sommelier makes pairing a wine with your dishes fun. Order the grilled cream corn as a side no matter what you eat.
this was our first time at Tribute and we weren't sure about it, being a hotel restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. the ambiance, food and service compares favorably to the finest restaurants in Houston. Great wine list, especially the champagne list. I recommend the roasted oysters, the crab au gratin and the duck dishes. Truly, a superb evening.
Food and service are both very good. Wait staff is friendly and remembers you and your preferences. Although the decor is much improved over the previous restaurant it still has the feel of being in a hotel. Which it is so I guess that’s fine.
WE had the best service ever! visited with Sommelier water filled, plates removed, checked on food
and it was not overly done. Comfortable seating and very well decorated restaurant for eating.
Never had better service in Houston. We had The Baffin bay salad, good but not exceptional, the tortilla soup with soup poured over the food elements, the Goat soba, the snapper fish and the bacon wrapped quail.
All dishes were prepared well and served hot with many small items to embellish the taste and create beautiful Plating.
The only comment was the dishes except the fish were unseasoned and a bit bland. we could taste all the ingredients.
I enjoyed a romaine Kings Inn salad topped with broiled chicken. The chicken was a bit over-cooked. Not as juicy as I had hoped. I thought the spices were delicious. The bread service is Fabulous! Service was efficient.
Excellent meal, service and atmosphere. Brought a complimentary dessert for a birthday celebration which was AMAZING
Lovely place, good food, menu felt limited.
Best romantic restaurant
excellent service, we got flowers and an anniversary dessert
Thanks for the best evening
Just good food !
5 star food and service. Beautiful dining room and comfortable seating. Will DEFINITELY return again!!
For being at the beautiful and exclusive Houstonian Hotel I expected A LOT more. The vibe was very hotel restaurant, which was diappointing. The food was nothing to write home about. I had the filet mignon - came with absolutely nothing on it. No dry rub, no sauce, nothing. And the filet was too fatty. I've had much better steaks elsewhere. The company I was with didn't rave about their food either. Service was good though.
All was great except wine value. Most current successful restaurants only mark the wines up less than double retail. You would get much more repeat business if you do this.
Excellent quality food. Pancakes and toast are to die for. Very reasonably priced.
Always enjoy The Houstonian for our post Christmas brunch. The decor felt fresh and lovely. Will be back again.
Come frequently with business clients. First time to Tribute since opened. Décor looks like a Marriott / very dull--very disappointing. Food / lunch menu very poor in options and taste. The Manor House lunch menu / food /ambiance is so much better. However, service remains outstanding.
The Tribute has such potential, but it just isn’t “there” yet. We went to celebrate our 20th Anniversary on NYE. The restaurant caters to a much older crowd and was about 3/4 full. Wait staff was unhurried (which is fine) and forgetful (which is not). Waiter did not tell us about specials (although the next table heard them) and forgot bread. Honestly, the food was good but not great. Standouts were the King’s Inn salad (share!) and the jalapeño scalloped potatoes (so creamy!). Very disappointed in the “Gulf Shrimp and Smoked Oxtail.” There was very little oxtail and the shrimp seemed more like prawn (can’t say for sure). I expected to have to remove tails but was shocked that heads were on too. I’m sure it’s for presentation but it just wasn’t necessary. Final disappointment is that there was NO acknowledgement of our anniversary, despite that it was in the reservation. Many fine dining experiences would have included a note on the table or kind words from the waiter or even a thank you from the manager on duty. We saw none of that and for a $230 meal, I expected more.
Wonderfully elegant Sunday “brunch”. They let us order from both the breakfast and the lunch menus. Delicious, exciting new menus. Inspiring new atmosphere
A group of us wanted great food in a quiet, elegant atmosphere. Tribute was exceptional in all aspects.
We went on Christmas night and it was gorgeous. The hotel is stunning and the restaurant was perfect. It was quiet, being a holiday, but the service was on point. They were attentive but not annoying the way some places can be when they're slow. The food was fantastic and styled beautifully. Their drinks were also extremely well done. I would absolutely go back and I definitely recommend.
Service was great, as always!
We went on Christmas Day and we ordered the Grilled Turkey Christmas Special which, granted, is not part of the regular menu. It was no better than what you would expect in a cheap diner. Sorry, but it just wasn't. Both of us ate about a fourth of what was on the plate so the plates looked almost full. When the waiter took the plates away he did not bother to ask if anything was wrong. In addition to the turkey specials I had a salad and my guest had soup. We did not have any alcoholic beverages. The bill was over $100.
We will not be back.
We went for Christmas morning breakfast and took our 16.5 month old son. High chair was available, and the children’s pancake portions were plentiful. My husband and I had omelettes that were cooked to perfection. Next year we’ll be staying at the Houstonian on Christmas Eve and continue our Christmas morning breakfast tradition. 5 stars, quite easily.
1st time in the new restaurant with new menu. Everything was excellent except none of our 4 mains came with vegetables ( French fries don’t count) and there was not a good selection of green vegetables to pick from...otherwise everything we ordered tasted really good, we liked the local selections & the hotel looked beautiful!
We went Christmas Eve and they didn’t have Christmas music playing instead played a variation of top 40. I was really hoping the menu would be much vamped up. Overall rather disappointing.
Tribute was an excellent host for our holiday get together. Wonderful menu selections and the atmosphere was on point. Highly recommend if you are at The Houstonian or in the Houston area.
First time at Tribute. The new layout and decor is a vast improvement over Olivette. Extensive wine menu, at fairly reasonable prices. Enjoyed the brisket taco appetizer, and the grilled chicken entree (simple and very tasty). Service was attentive but the staff was stretched a little thin on a busy Sat nite. Will definitely go back soon.
Everyone was wonderful and the food phenomenal ❤️
My sister and I take two ladies (one late 80's and one early 90's) to lunch during Christmas holidays. The Houstonian is beautifully decorated and makes a memorial outing.
Burger had very little seasoning. It wasn’t worth the hefty price tag.
Thank you Eduart. As always, Fiji’s and and service was excellent
The food and service was outstanding! We can’t wait to go back.
My husband and I had a fabulous meal at the Tribute Saturday night. The quail appetizer had a citrus jalapeno sauce that was out of this world. I had the snapper, my husband had the lamb and we both loved our meals. Top dining experience. The hot fresh rolls melted in your mouth. I look forward to dining there again soon.
Everyone in our party of six ordered something different and loved their food. The staff were friendly and helpful with my two year old. Save room for dessert!
My Chicken salad was very interesting but far too much onion (for my taste) and maybe over-spiced for a lunch. I am sure some of the other dishes are superb. It seem many of the regional cuisine restaurant try too hard to spice their dishes with the local flavors.
Made a reservation at this Houstonian restaurant while a well-attended conference was going on in the hotel. My friend and I were seated, and service was a bit slow on the drink order. We ordered our entree and were told by the waiter we wouldn’t need a salad because there was a salad on the entree (redfish). After ONE HOUR we still did not have our entrees. The large table seated near us of conference attendees made it too loud to hear ourselves. They were seated after us and served first. Kitchen misplaced our order, but even asking our missing waiter, it was still another half hour. Entree was a slab of fish with no sides or veggies. We were starving! But not enough so to want to wait for dessert. Very inefficient and although another review said it is the same staff as Olivine, I don’t think it’s the same professional waitstaff.
Christmas lunch for the girls
