Chicken, duck confit, house andouille. Entrée soup served with Hot Garlic Bread
creamy crawfish étouffée baked in a handmade crust
I wasn’t impressed. It was a little noisy and very smokey. I ordered chargrilled oysters that were semi raw and I ordered shrimp and grits, but the grits were nonexistent.
Overall we had a pleasant experience here, minus a few hiccups. The food is amazing, and the martinis are to die for. Our waiter was disinterested in helping (which isn’t always a bad thing, in this case of good friends and food conversation it was not.) I’ll chalk this up to him reading the room and knowing when he would be needed.
My main gripe, is how we were greeted. I originally planned to make reservations, but decided to just check in as we were staying attached, and when we walked in the vibe was chill with many open tables. We quickly washed up from the raging tropical storm, changed and checked in for dinner. After attempting to check in, we were told by the wait staff and the manager that they were “booked for the night.” I thought this was strange, given the empty tables we walked past to reach the front, but just said thank you for checking and walked back to the lobby. I then made reservations (with an open spot for four every half hour the rest of the night), and checked back in ten minutes later. I stated we had a reservation, and begrudgingly sat us at one of the empty tables with a snide “enjoy” from the same manager as we walked past.
My first thought was simply our attire, as given the soaking from the storm didn’t warrant a change into our Sunday best. But, a brief look around the restaurant to multiple individuals rocking athletic clothes and flip flops deterred me from this.
Ultimately, it was a pleasant experience and I would certainly return. But if you plan to dine, be sure to make reservations as you may be turned away otherwise with no justification.
wonderful - A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
My wife and I came to NOLA for the food. We don’t drink and this restaurant is excellent and must try. The best cooked oysters in town - by far. MUST TRY and we tried the oysters in every fine dining establishment we went to. The restaurant is small so must get a reservation. Attached to a restaurant and the ambiance could improve to make it more romantic but the food and service was excellent. Good job.
Delicious food and great service. I had the redfish and my husband the shrimp and grits. Both were very good.
they gave it a shot but down 10 employees it is impossible to provide decent service
It’s clean and friendly with a modern ambiance. Staff was friendly and mostly efficient.
Great boudin balls, great beef chili and the “shoyster” po boy was a pleasant surprise.
My wife had the taco salad which she said was wonderful.
The waitress was nice and friendly but a bit less attentive than maybe she should be.
Food and service are very good.
The food was delicious. First time having their brunch and we will definitely be back.
Great food and great service.
Customer service was a challenge for our table. It happens. Manager was extremely proactively engaged but it still faltered. Food was good. Would give it a try again if I lived here but not visiting. Too many other options.
food was good great staff its in a hotel but great service
We had oysters and cocktails. Service was spot on. We will be back for a full meal.
I should have known better! This is a hotel restaurant. One of the very few times I have had a bad meal in New Orleans. There were only 7 entrees on the menu, and they were out of 3 of them. We settled on redfish and crab cakes, both of which were so bland they appeared not even to be seasoned with salt and pepper! And the price was high for such a bad meal. I do not recommend.
Our server Brian and the New York strip we ate for dinner were the best things about our meal!
We thought it was a little more upscale, so we felt overdressed. But it was a more casual, laid back atmosphere.
They told us we couldn’t order drinks during dinner because they were too busy. We wouldnt get them before our food. Was this New Orleans? Never got serving plates for shared dishes and didn’t get silverware. Was sad we had such a terrible experience and the food was decent but I’d wait till they get it figured out before trying trenasse. We won’t be going back
The food was better than average. I was seated quickly & was not recognized by a server for 15’. The service & timeliness was lacking in all respects. I know service in Nola is notorious slow. However after my order was taken I did not see my server again for 35’. Empty water no silverware until after my food arrived & I asked for it. Didn’t see her again until I flagged her down got the Ck. Which she never came back for fortunately I had enough cash so I could escape
Food was underwhelming. Service was poor and the value was poor. It was what I didn’t expect because of the previous reviews.
Trenasse was good. Nice atmosphere. The staff was attentive and the food was good.
One of the best places that I ate at while in New Orleans. The sever was great. The manager looked at me crazy when I was early for my reservation. That’s really the only negative thing I could say about the experience. Great food great drinks
The food and service were excellent!
The restaurant manager was so helpful in aiding us to select a white wine, and came by to chat with us and check on how we were enjoying our food (which was delicious). This is my third timing eating here and I would definitely recommend!
The food was "fine" and the service needed improvement
Service started out iffy...they were definitely understaffed. But it ended up being fabulous. Food and drinks were great, too!
We ordered bar be cued shrimp as an appetizer and we received 4 hush puppies. We then attempted to order two different types of champagne and were told neither was in stock. I ordered blackened snapper and it was served barely cooked - still clear in the middle. When I refused to eat it and everyone agreed it was undercooked (management included) we were still charged for it. I ordered gumbo as an alternative and it was served in some form of a watery mixture that tasted like paste. Easily the worst dining experience we have had in ten years.
It was a greT experience made mostly by our waitress R chell. Food was good and a peaceful place outside.
Waitstaff and food were exceptional! Live jazz music. Ample, comfortable, shaded seating outside. Highly recommend!
Food was excellent and service good too. tables near window look out over an alley so try not to sit there, we had our table changed.
We loved everything about this restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. Everything we had was delicious. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits and she thought it was the best she has ever had. I had the Crawfish Pie and it was one of the best entrees I have had in a long time. I love bread pudding and I have had it at many restaurants in this country and internationally. The bread pudding served here ranked right up there with the best! Overall, the meal was amazing, delicious, flavorful and outstanding in every way. The service was also the best. Our waitress Archelle was tremendous. She provided outstanding service with a smile on her face and a great attitude. We really enjoyed her and appreciated her overall approach. It was a perfect evening from every standpoint. This restaurant truly is one of the best in New Orleans and deserves all the accolades it gets. On a scale of 1-5, Trenasse is a 10.
Food was absolutely delicious! Full of wonderful flavors.
La comida deliciosa pero tardaron horas en atendernos hay muy pocos meseros para la cantidad de gente que tienen
Servicio muy lento
The service was great; our waiter Nais was awesome. We had the boudin balls and bbq shrimp appetizers, very good and would get again. Followed by the huge mixed oysters board. OMG it was delicious
Very nice restaurant, excellent food and service. Great menu. We had the stuffed shrimp and stuffed triple tail. Delicious!
Not enough staff...service was poor
Great place to eat and would definitely recommend. Sat outside- good amount of space- waitress was wonderful. All of our food was delicious - crawfish pie, market fish, pan seared redfish, Kids pasta alfredo. Cocktails good and dessert bread pudding was favorite but chocolate torte was delicious too. Would definitely return. Make reservations though!
Absolutely amazing. Everything tasted so good & it was the best oysters we’ve ever had!
Food and service was excellent!!! The steak and broccolini was superb!! Would definitely come here again
Had a great time! Food & Service was incredible 🍸🍸
Dominique was a great server!!
