Very good experience. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely return
We went for Coolinary and ended up ordering some Chargrilled Oysters and Boudin Balls as well. The oysters were a little small but were cooked to perfection. We were all happy with our first course -- salad and gnocchi. Our entrees were the smoked pork and redfish. We ate every last bite. The flavors were wonderful and they were cooked perfectly as well. Dessert was a delicious coconut cake which I think should have been better named Coconut/Lemon cake but I like both so I'm not going to complain.
This is my fourth time to Trenasse and I will definitely be back.
Service was impeccable and food was delicious. Great for girls' night!
The food was phenomenal. Service was great. Also a great, reasonably priced wine selection.
Duck confit lettuce wraps were great. My girlfriend loved the lamb chops, and the Taste of Trenasse was great because you got to try the lamb chop, the redfish meniure, and the crawfish pie, all of which were awesome.
Met two friends (one with a kid) for lunch and everything was great! Food and service was on point, and the atmosphere was comfortable.
Food was great, came out fast. Waitress was very attentive to our bottomless mimosas. Great experience!
The restaurant was really nice inside. The entire menu looked delicious. There were 5 of us and we got a few different items. Everything was amazing. The bottomless mimosas were great and a great price! Will be back!
My one complaint about Trenasse is that the seating is too close together. It's like sitting with strangers. They can hear my conversation and I can hear theirs.
It’s just a common hotel restaurant
Restaurant was recommended by a local I met on the plane to NOLA. We were staying at the Hilton River Center so it was an easy walk. When we arrived there were not many tables seated but as it got later more people arrived. Our server, Albert, was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu so he could give us some guidance and recommendations. He was delightful throughout our meal. We were 2 women traveling on business and shared our meal. We started with the duck comfit lettuce wraps which were delicious and something different for us. The duck was roasted and succulent, lettuce was fresh and crispy. Our entree was Stinky's Stew. From the first taste of the broth we were entranced. The crab legs were the sweetest I have ever tasted. The serving was plenty for us to share and each serving had plenty of seafood. This was a spectacular experience with outstanding food - we each commented the next morning that we woke up thinking about the meal. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
Wonderful dinning experience! We ordered a variety of plates and shared it between the four of us--and it all was amazing.
We were seated when we arrived a bit before our reservation time. The waiter was attentive during the first portion of our visit, though it did take a while for him to take our drink orders. My wife indicated that she did not like spicy foods and she decided to order a salad. She then also ordered the seafood bisque. The waiter did not indicate that it was spicy. She found it too spicy, so I got to eat it. It tasted good. Her salad was very good. I ordered the braised short ribs. It was good though pretty fatty. It took quite a while for the waiter to take our empty dishes and deliver the check.
Seemed pretty nice when we were seated. Service was painfully slow. Diners at the next table, same race as our server, had solicitous service even being brought samples of entrees they were considering ordering while our glasses remained empty. Long wait for a small order, food was pitiful. Tenderloin was so bad I left it on the plate. Hostess admitted most patrons were overflow from restaurant across the street. That was our mistake, too.
Great service by Brian, the food was top notch: great flavors and good value for your money. Highly recommend the bread pudding sundae for dessert!
The place, staff and food was wonderful. I have been there twice and have already booked for a 10 guest birthday dinner for tomorrow (Friday, July 19). I am so looking forward to dining with them again. Our waiter this last time was absolutely wonderful.
Our favorite menu item, the soup/gumbo sampler had been taken off the menu. We asked for it but were told the utensils to serve it were no long available. Nonetheless, we ordered the fowl gumbo and blue crab bisque and were awed as usual. Too bad the noise level is so high that good conversation becomes a chore.
Other than my seafood bisque being thin and runny, not thick and creamy as expected, everything was good. The service was prompt and friendly. Good happy hour selections. Nice atmosphere,
Rolling Stones trip
Service and food are always excellent. Raw oysters are some of the best in town one of my favorite restaurants
I was dining with a friend who is gluten free. When we ordered we were brought items continually that contained gluten by mistake. They also said they can’t pass out their gluten free menu until a certain time. Only serving gluten at specific times? Food was only okay and lobby noise was quite loud.
Wonderful food and ambiance. Stinky’s stew is the best!
Love Trenasse! Hands down my favorite brunch place in New Orleans, great atmosphere, friendly staff and the $10 bottomless are undefeated. Additionally the food is phenomenal. My brunch favorites are the lamb chops & shrimp and grits. Their oysters are also great! I highly recommend trying the oyster log!
We were happy to get a table last minute at 9 p.m., so that's a big plus. We were seated quickly and given menus immediately. Then things got sloooow. Took forever to be greeted by our waiter, took forever to get our food, took forever to get checked on (at this point we were just waiting for the check). The food was good, however. The ribeye was melt-in-your mouth and serious quality. The crawfish pie was rich and indulgent, but could have benefitted from the addition of a veggie or something for more texture. Or simply a garnish…it's literally a small pie on a plate. But that crust was gorgeous! Boudin balls & crab bisque were pretty good, but closer to average than the delish entrees.
Overall I'd recommend, but don't be in a rush.
This was some of the best food we had in New Orleans. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavored wonderfully. The server was great at helping us pick out our dinner. My only complaint was we felt a little forgotten after our food came. I could have used a refill on my drink but my server was no where to be found. However the servers for the tables around us seemed to be giving 5 star service from beginning to end.
Wonderful experience! Great service! Evelyn, our server was amazing at explaining each dish. Food was wonderful and served fresh and hot! Loved that we could hear each other talking and enjoyed the live music that was there during the happy hour. Will absolutely go back when in New Orleans again.
Great mussels and short ribs
We enjoyed this restaurant very much. The charred oysters and the oysters on the half shell were delicious. The seared scallops were also good, but only three. Felt like four would have been better. Good choice of wines. Dessert wasn’t great. We shared the mini doughnuts with cafe latte on the side. The doughnuts were very heavy and the coffee way too weak. The waitress was not as knowledgeable as she should have been. This restaurant is very convenient if you are staying at the InterContinental Hotel and have been sightseeing all day.
Great place and great food.
The food was wonderful and the service was very good.
Wow! Our monthly girl’s dinner started with suspicion. It was 7:30pm on a Friday night, and the place was nearly empty. But we ALL were presently surprised. The cocktails were creative and delicious. Will be back for the Orange Blossom. Next, appetizers. There was not a miss in the group. The highlight, The Cauliflower Steak, YUMMY! Definitely big enough to share. We split entrees, the filet was perfectly cooked with sides that made your mouth water. The CrawfishPie was well seasoned and flakey. The dessert, the Chocolate Peanut Butter dish was rich but not to sweet! Worth the trip downtown for sure!!
Amzing food and good prices
We made a 9:30pm reservation through opentable and I ended up regretting I made it. Our server and the rest of the front of the front of the house had the worst attitude. We could tell they didn’t want us there. They close at 10pm, but I honestly wish they had just not taken the reservation then serve people when they don’t actually want there. Our server even asked us if we wanted to see the desert menu (something he me mentioned btw) we said yes, and he brought the check instead. As for dinner, we ordered the duck confit, it looked and tasted like boiled chicken. For entrees we ordered the short rib and it as saltiest dish I have tasted in a very long time. sauce was broken and the grits were nasty. Terrible experience, it was expensive, and it was pretty obvious they didn’t want us there. Will NEVER be going back. You can find better places just by walking around town.
Our meal was outstanding and the service was spot on. Recommend the Stinky Stew highly.
Very nice restaurant. Excellent service, food fantastic.
This review is hard for me to write. Not because it was bad but I just don't want to write out all the things I was impressed with. So, here's what I will say.
We had a party of 7 for a family gathering. Our server was top notch, checking in with us periodically, staying on top of our drinks, delivering food quickly.
We ate pretty much one of everything on the menu between all of us and I couldn't be more impressed with the quality of the food.
This is by far and away worth it and not at all what I was expecting out of a hotel restaurant. This place easily deserves a spot in my top 10 all time dining experiences.
1) Stinky's Stew is stinky only in name. So much delicious food in a bowl.
2) Taste of Trenasse was on point. Everyone who got it, 4 people, were in love with it. My dad loved it so much he ordered another of the pies separately.
This place is AWESOME my friends and I came to Trenasse for the first time during my birthday weekend and we will definitely be back. The food was delicious, I had the blue crab omelette and pepper jack cheese stone grits. One of the best things about this place is their bottomless mimosas so I would definitely recommend spending a Sunday afternoon here.
Grilled Oysters were awful they were supposed to be butter and cheese neither made it to the table. Need to upgrade bar simple sidecar could not be made.
The shrimp appetizer was decent but for the price really should have got more than four shrimp. Had the crab cakes and they put it on top of a salad but they didn't have a dressing that actually went with crab cakes for the salad they said I had like a remoulade dressing and they suggested lemon vinaigrette, totally gross. The crab cakes were filled with stuffing and 0 flavor except for that Salty Gulf of Mexico kind of taste. I could have went to a different restaurant across the street for $18 and got crab cakes. They really need to up their game. Food took forever as well.
