Tremont 647 Ratings and Reviews
I was quite disappointed with this visit. I brought a friend for her birthday and both of us had the salmon. It was pretty mediocre. Our cocktails were not great. I had two sips of mine, but the waiter never questioned it. My water glass was empty for almost the entire meal. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. Tremont 647 used to be one of my favorites, but this was definitely a miss.
The food is tasty, but we didn't have the best experience with service. It must have been a bad day, as we received very little attention & care during brunch on Saturday. The food arrived 50 minutes after we put in our order. The waitress was hard to spot and find and she did not seem to consider this delay important.
The host was very accommodating about rearranging the patio tables to fit our larger group reservation. Food and drinks were great too! Only complaint was that it took a long time to get the check, but I'll chalk that up to our server wanting to make sure we didn't feel rushed :)
I have dined here on several occasion and never had an issue of any sort. This time, while the food and service was excellent, the large party seated behind us included a person who was an obnoxious braggart which really spoiled our experience. She was so loud we could not hear ourselves at our table. I mentioned it to the server several times but nothing was done to ameliorate the situation. Very disappointing.
we have been trying many restaurants to have a great burger - easy going place - but great quality with matching toppings.
the 1 pound burger was enjoy completely by all -
great music and atmosphere -
thin french fries -
looking forward to trying their Taco Tuesday or PJ brunch burger over the weekend.
We went July 4 weekend which is why the restaurant was quiet and, I might add, empty inside. That isn't usually the case. Most times I have been here the noise level was pretty high and the bar jumping. That said, the couple I was with loved their dinner. My vegetarian friend--hard to please--deemed her veggie burger and fries 'excellent' and her husband loved his fried chicken. I tasted it: it was divinely crispy. I ordered the special which was bass with Mexican-flavored rice. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the rice was a little gummy and could have used more flavor and more corn and black beans. We all ate the spring salad and thought it was delicious. Although we were full, we ordered an insane dessert--a pain perdu with ginger ice cream. It took 3 of us to finish it and we were glad we did. All in all, it was quite a good dinner at a very reasonable price. This isn't a restaurant for foodies; it's one for people who want tasty food at a good price in an upbeat atmosphere with a South End vibe.
As a first time visit, we were very pleased. Michaela was quite attentive and answered all our questions about the menu. The lamb and goat cheese ravioli was very good and the fried chicken could not have been better. Accompanied by the collard greens , coleslaw and Cajun fries, our dinner was complete. Topped by the French toast stick sundae, we agreed that we would be coming back.
I dine here quite often and I'm usually quite pleased with the food and the service. Our last visit was no different. We had a few problems with food temperature, but these were swiftly corrected. I believe that to truly judge the service of a restaurant, you need to see how they handle a mistake. The staff at Tremont 647 always rises to the occasion.
My only mild complaint is that I wish they had a more extensive wine list.
The food was tasteless, not to mention almost cold when it was received. The bus staff was nice, and constantly refilled our waters. Our waitress was never to be found, except to take our orders and payment. For the prices they charge, I expected better than cold, tasteless food. I had the raviolis and my date had a seafood special. I would not recommend.
Had a Mother's Day 'pajama Brunch'! Homemade 'poptart' of the day was s'mores - delicious! Mom had the spinach 'Benny'- very good. Daughters had the burger (HUGE) and the
Huevos Rancheros and left a clean plate. Husband enjoyed the Peach pancakes. Great meal all around with friendly service. We will be back!
Yum! Was here for Easter Brunch and everything our table ordered was out of this world delicious! They even sat us outside even though no patio reservations were guaranteed! Server was awesome, and the pop tart was one of the best things I have ever eaten! Will be back again next time I am in town.
I haven't been in years we made a reservation for Saturday night for 3. We sat upfront which wasn't a good fit, a little too bar for our family, the staff was so accommodating they quickly and kindly moved us to the quieter back and we had the most delicious meal with the nicest server. I had the tofu tacos which were amazing the flavors of the black beans and avocado( I think polenta )was divine! Also hugely filing. My daughter had the qenou burger and loved it and my husband loved his crispy fried chicken dinner. A really great experience!
We hadn't been to 647 in several years so we thought we'd give it a try again. Sadly, we now remember why we stopped going. If you're looking to grab a bite and a beer, it's fine but if you want a decent meal with a setting to allow for comfort and conversation, this isn't the place. The food was just OK... We had a salad, cornbread, and veggie burgers. The salad was tasty but the cornbread was smothered in melted butter. The veggie burgers were a quinoa/black bean mixture. It seemed as if they just mashed the beans and quinoa together. As soon as you touched it, the burger completely fell apart. The server was personable, but the setting was lacking. Also, the place seems dingy and dirty from years of business. We won't be returning.
