Mexican
Danny Trejo's taqueria for meat, vegan & vegetarian specialties. Fulfilling his mother’s dream of owning a restaurant, Danny used his mother’s recipes as a base to create carnitas, cauliflower, fried chicken, and other flavors of tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, and quesadillas. Along with good food, we have seasonal house-made agua fresca, vegan horchata, and a variety of local drinks. Our goal is to create a
destination for delicious Mexican food where people can come experience great food, enjoy their friends and family in a comfortable, safe, clean environment.

The food was not fresh. A carnitas burrito should not have pineapple in it

It's a decent taco shop. The bowls are great! Plenty of options - ranging from comfort food, to healthy, and even vegan options.

I had been told good things, and we were excited to go, but the food was not good, and I felt I’ll afterward. There was only one other couple there, and no one in the bar. It was odd, and we won’t be goin again. Danny is a fun actor to watch, but sadly he need to only do that.

Might have been good but Open Table took reservations on a day they were closed. A waste of my time driving out there and finding a closed for Presidents Day sign on the door.
Thanks

Excellent for a large group. Great service. 1 star less because a friend on a special diet was not able to be accommodated, but the rest of our party was able to find something they liked.

I have to start this off with this would be at least a 4 star review, but the service really sucks. We all loved our food. Their bowls, tacos and burritos all had a great flavor to them. I can't put my finger on why the service is so bad. It is almost like they are oblivious to what service should be.

Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. We had been looking forward to visiting since we had heard very good things about Trejo's Tacos and Trejo's Cantina, but found our overall experience less than satisfying. The restaurant, itself, was pleasant, the noise level low enough for good conversation (although it was relatively empty for a Friday evening), and they validated parking (which saved a considerable amount of money).

The service was good although not exceptional (e.g., we had to ask three different people, three different times, for chips and salsa), but overall the staff was pleasant and reasonable attentive to our needs.

The menu is quite limited. While there are some interesting taco and burrito options, there is not too much else to order beyond these items. Additionally, they come with no accompaniments (e.g., rice, beans, salad, or?). This is also not particularly clear on the menu so that when the food arrives and you realize that it is served, in essence, ala carte, it's too late to order (assuming you'd like the sides eaten at the same time as your main course).

Perhaps the most unsettling aspect was the food itself. The burritos come wrapped in foil (which indicated to us that they are pre-made and kept warm). While that might not actually be the case, it is a presentation more suited to a fast food take-out restaurant rather than a sit-down restaurant. While this was not the way I would want the food presented, it also was not particularly tasty. It wasn't bad, but, again making a fast food comparison, burritos from Baja Fresh, for example, are considerably tastier. Finally, the prices, while not exorbitant, were on the high side considering what was served.

As I said, this was a disappointing experience and without noted changes will be both my first and last visit.

Drinks (Margaritas) are very small and expensive. Food portions are small for a Mexican restaurant. They charge extra for salsa if you want your burrito wet (salsa on top). That’s ridiculous. Place is nicely decorated but they need to switch it up or it’s not going to make it.
Bigger drinks, big portions and no rules. People want more for less.

Trejo's is not easy to review. First of all, it is a very limited menu. The choices are tacos, burritos or bowls. That's it. Period. There are about 6 or 7 choices of what you want to put in, like chicken, shrimp, brisket, vegies, etc. My suggestion is the brisket. Even Trejo himself said in an interview to go with the brisket. My wife went for the tacos and said they were excellent. You can order as many as you want, since they are priced individually. I would suggest getting 3. I ordered the burrito and it was humongous. I ate half of it and took the other half home for dinner the next night. It was one of the best I have ever had. The odd thing about our Trejo's visit was that it was very close to empty. No one was seated inside the place and just 2 or 3 tables were occupied on the patio where we sat. I enjoy being in a restaurant where I don't have to shout to be heard by my dining companions. But, this was too far the other direction, leaving it with zero energy. We had chosen it for after the movie down the street. It was a Sunday at 7:30. Since it is attached to an office building and surrounded by others, I can only hope that they do a big business for lunch and after work Mondays - Fridays. Oh, yes, the service was very good.

First time visit. Enjoyed the setting on the patio. Comfortable and relaxed. Service was attentive. Menu is interesting and had options for everyone. I ordered three tacos to try three different flavors; tasted the fish, the falafel, and the cauliflower. All were good with an interesting mix of ingredients.

We will return soon.

Food was incredible. I’ve wanted to go forever - and it was better than I imagined. Portions were perfect. Food was flavorful.

And other stuff. But I’m not a foodie, so descriptive words elude me. In fact, I’m crazy picky and still destroyed everything.

I didn’t get the churros not a hat. I’m an idiot.

When the place was empty at 630 on a Saturday that should have been our hint to leave. We had 6 people. Not one person got their food at the same time. One girl got 2 of the same exact tacos, and got them separate on separate plates. My chicken taco was cold and my spicy shrimp taco was not spicy. Dude needs to remove his name from this place. It's horrible.

Took my foodie cousin and her husband, my son and his girlfriend for a casual meal. Trejo's exceeded our expectations. We were there early on a Sunday night, and had the place mostly to ourselves, so very quiet. I am sure that's not always the case, but we appreciated being able to converse while enjoying our food. Loved the strawberry lemon cocktail, steak nachos, and everyone inhaled their various main courses. A relaxing, fun, casual dining experience. Friendly and professional wait staff, too. Will definitely be back soon.

A dozen creative and delicious combinations of fillings ranging from carnitas to mex falafas
in tacos, burritos, bowls, salads etc .(I had a carnitas with grilled pineapple taco-the taco of my dreams) and tried the carne asada- delicious too. The salad was a a healthy side option and very good . The server was attentive and accommodating. A good, comfortable space with booths, also outdoor seating, and a bar with booth & high tables .

Very quiet Thursday dinner time, bar was 1/2 full, indoor dr almost empty, outdoor filled up. Food was tasty and portions large. Waiter brought gratis salsa to take home when my wife asked if she could buy some to take home. Very nice gesture. The dining room still looks like the predecessor Italian place that failed--certainly did not look like a cantina.
Anyway, we would go back to try other entres.

Found this location by accident and I'm glad I did. Had a reservation on open table and got here early so we decided to sit at the bar. Our bartender John was friendly & helpful and made a mean jalapeño margarita! He gave us recommendations on the food and we started with carnitas, spicy shrimp and fried chicken tacos. All of them were yummy with Trejo's hot sauce to give it extra kick. It's located on the bottom floor of an office building and wasn't busy at all which is nice because I don't like most humans. John said it's a bit busier for the surrounding area for the happy hour and dinner crowd during the week. They also serve Trejo's donuts at this location Monday thru Friday. So if you're looking for tacos on the weekend and don't want to roll to Hollywood, come to Woodland Hills and the Warner Center Towers for some good food with vegan options as well. Thanks again to John and the Cantina staff!

First of all, the food was delicious, and served hot. It had very unique and different flavors, not your typical plug in American version of Mexican food. The only reason that I did not rate the restaurant as highly as the food deserved, had to do with some "kinks" in the service. The waiter was very gracious, but obviously poorly trained. My appetizer and main food entree were brought out to me within seconds of each other, allowing my entree to get cold while I ate my appetizer. Meanwhile, my wife's food did not arrive until almost ten minutes later, again, her appetizer quickly followed by the entree. I asked if they had a Mexican beer, and the waiter said "no" but they had Pacifica. I asked if it was Pacifica Clara? He asked the young manager, who said "no, we just have Pacifica." I ordered it, and on the bottle it clearly stated Pacifica Clara. I know this restaurant is new, so the training must be ongoing. I would go back because the food was so good, and I would just order appetizers and after finishing them, I would order the entree. That should avoid the situation discussed above.
