Trejo's Cantina - Pasadena
Fried chicken tacos were absolutely amazing! That is all. <3
Food was ok. Thought it was pricey for what we got. We each ordered a taco, guacamole with chips, corn on the side, and two fresca drinks.
Service was extremely poor, then food disappointment on top of that. It took an hour to get our food. This is basically a bar that serves bad food.
We had a very pleasant time there. The food and service were good and we liked the restaurant environment. Would go back for sure.
Get together with friends
My wife and I, drove from Fresno Ca. We made a reservation with the curiosity of a celebrity restaurant. And very disappointed with the food. I had a burrito, and my wife had the nachos. Burrito came in a aluminum wrapping. Not dressed in any sauces, and nachos we're something that can easily be done by a fourteen year old. Overall experience was dissatisfied. Sorry!
It was VERY NOISY-- I don't consider that ENERGETIC which is what is on the form. I did not like my chicken bowl at all. My friend thought her burrito was OK. The service was fast.
This time not so good. Tortilla soup and cheesecake were great. Other items not as good as before.
Save room for the churro, they are wonderful.
Great food and great service! I’m vegetarian and love that they have multiple vegetarian/vegan options! We had tons of questions and our server was so patient, answered and explained everything, and was so accommodating! Fun music and ambience!
Food is alright. Horrible service. I do enjoy Taco Tuesday (its smaller version of their normal tacos but you get to have variety).
Service was so so, but the food was really good. However, there is ZERO ambiance. It feels like a restaurant at LAX.
Went to use pay by OpenTable, but the restaurant didn't accept it, even though they said they do on OpenTable
Not so good! Wanted to love it in the location next to the Playhouse but yech. Tacos expensive and bad, soup was awful, overall - go somewhere else!
Great food and service
Very poor service. Getting someone to serve us was quite the challenge. Wait staff does not appear to care if customers come back to the restaurant. And we won’t.
I celebrated my birthday there and had one of the best times ever. Food was great, drinks were awesome, and service was outstanding. Thank you for a great experience.
It was a perfect experience for a before show drinks and food. They sat us right away, wait staff was attentive and the food and drinks were well prepared. I would go there again definitely.
Only because of its close proximity to the Pasadena Playhouse.....The food was OK...but it didn't 'knock me out'.....Charging $2.00 for a tiny tablespoon-sized cup of guacamole or extra pico de gallo really annoyed me. I wouldn't have objected to the charge, but I expected a much larger serving of each for that price.
I loved it. Food was good, best guacamole I’ve ever tasted. Went on a game night or something so I get the noise at the bar.
Harsh lighting, waited 10 full minutes to be acknowledged by the wait staff, then they forgot half of our drinks, brought food out separately, then the dish was wrong -- wrong protein, no guacamole (never did arrive despite repeated requests). Then they cleared our drinks before we were even done with them. Will not be back.
Food was eh... ok. Extremely cold in the restaurant. They needed to turn the heat on.! Looked around and almost everyone including me were eating with their heavy coats on. Kind of uncomfortable to eat while all bundled up! And the noise!! Noisiest restaurant I’ve ever eaten in! It’s all hard surfaces and nothing to absorb noise! My friend and I could hardly hear each other talk. Won’t waste my time or money there again. The location is so convenient for Playhouse goers but this is about the fourth reincarnation I’ve been to there over the years. Nobody seems to make a go of it there.
I would recommend their margaritas, but not their food.
Food and service was outstanding as usual.
Wonderful thank you all!! I don’t know what else to say other than we really enjoyed and will be back
Our server was excellent and helped us to make a good choice for us. The chips and the salsa were the best we ever had. We were going to the theatre and this was most convenient to eat at and parking was nearby.
way too noisy food was sparse especially the salad
Everything was delicious! Nachos, tacos, margaritas, and churros. Wow! Definitely coming back.
The tacos were outstanding! Atmosphere is spot on. I would eat there way more frequently if the price per taco was $1-$2 less. It adds up fast but truly delicious.
For theatergoers to next door Pasadena Playhouse, this could not be a more convenient eatery.
Thanks so much
The food was good. But pricey. I understand due to the plethora of ingridents used, it contributes to the price. However, good healthy food, should not only be for those who can afford it. For example, almost $5 for a mushroom or cauliflower taco, is a bit much.
Also, we had a reservation gor 12:30 and we were not seated until 1:20 and the excuse was that they were understaffed and we were waiting outside. I believe, they could have sat us down, as there were plenty of empty tables
Delicious Mexican/Latin food. Casual atmosphere. Good ingredients, excellent vegetarian and vegan options. Healthy options too.
Price is a bit much for small portions ...........................................................................................................................................,...,,,,,,,,,,,,
Good Mexican food with a nice mix of the classic staples and some interesting experiments (fried chicken taco!). A little pricey but makes sense given the location and fun ambiance.
Minor criticism: I do wish the micheladas came in a bigger, margarita type of glass and not just a regular drink glass. Felt skimpy.
Save room for churros!
Had my grandkids and they enjoyed their food and fast service. We did miss a kids menu. And I would’ve liked some more gluten free and veggie selections. But overall it was good.
Average food, uninformed and unprofessional service and ordinary ambiance. Unless you're going to the Pasadena Playhouse for a performance, you might want to skip this venue.
Pretty good Tex mex food, would have enjoyed a frozen Margarita but had none
Menu did not alert us to the presence of cashew nuts in the salad and was served despite informing waitress that diner was allergic to nuts. A severe reaction ensued, which resulted in spending the night in the hospital emergency room. They didn’t charge us for the meal, but the far better option would have been to avoid the situation in the first place.
Good food and solid happy hour prices. Enjoyed the carnitas street tacos. The guacamole was interesting with pistachios and the chips were great!
