This celebrity-fronted restaurant — actor Danny Trejo is behind it — features Mexican favorites in a hip, colorful space filled with large tables, a patio and artwork by local artists. The menu has a decidedly Los Angeles slant, with vegan specialties served alongside steak asada, fried chicken, beef brisket and washed down with 34 taps of California Craft Beer and Wine, Frozen Margaritas and Aquas Frescas.

We had an 11:30 Lunch. It was wonderful. Place was quiet and just getting started. Serving staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was traditional with a flair. Portions are a good size. Ordered extra to have for dinner. Were lucky to get a parking spot on the street, but valet is available.

It was good food and great service. It was more casual and smaller than I thought it would be. I thought it would be more of an experience rather than just grabbing dinner somewhere. Overall, I would recommend this place. We were happy with everything.

Our time there was awesome staff was great and food was balm !!!! We even got to meet the chef, who came out to greet us at our table.
Food was way beyond our expectations. We will definitely go back.

This was such a great experience. We were looking for a place to gather 15 people in a casual and not too expensive way. The service was superb. They helped facilitate extra seating when more people showed up. They treated us all so kindly and the food was great. I highly recommend it for groups.

I was extremely excited to try this spot, but was really disappointed. The food was just okay, nothing to boast about. The service though was terrible. My waitress was visibly high, which normally wouldn’t bother me, but she took forever to bring us anything. We never heard the specials and didn’t know they even had any until another waiter was speaking to a separate table. She brought us the check while we were eating without seeing if we needed anything more. It was just a bit of a disaster.

The shrimp taco was delicious. My family loved the food they ordered. However, I think they fish taco could have been better. My jalapeño margarita didn’t taste like jalapeño.

The food was fine. Just fine. It was expensive for just average Mexican food. I expected something a lot more novel for the price but it was just fine.

Great Vegan/Vegetarian options, however was surprised to discover that the vegan options were even better tasting than the meat. Steak asada was disappointing. Expected more of a cultural flair, would be great to play music more suited and even showcase local cultural talent/musician's music.

Everything was fine, good, but almost nothing was great. Perhaps because it was Taco Tuesday, and we went with a tacos only meal. Best taco was far and away the jackfruit, though I didn't have the carnitas, and others at my table were raving about that. Beef Barbacoa was good, but spicy shrimp wasn't really spicy, and chicken and cauliflower were both kind of dull. The Trejo Cerbeza was fine, nothing special. While table's hot sauces were very good, there was no salsa. Would have liked to taste their take on that. Guacamole appetizer was great if small for sharing. And beans side dish was very good, too.

The tacos are very creative and tasty. Delicious vegetarian options. The chips are guac are not worth it though—$9 for rather crappy guac. Stick to the tacos ($5-$6.50 each) and the burritos. The tacos are relatively large. Lots of great flavors. Healthier than most Mexican food.

It was our 2 year Anniversary and our first time at Trejo's. It was very nice, waitress was amazing. Food is a bit pricey, over $5.00 for one taco and no sides, not even chips and salsa. Appetizers were delicious, we had the empanadas, only get one per order; however very tasty. We'll definitely go back again....Oh drinks were FABULOUS.

Delicious food- cauliflower and salmon tacos were amazing! Street corn was interesting with the popcorn...My husbands mushroom burrito and my carnitas bowl were worth the value and scrumptious. Tons of choices for alcohol- a definate place to visit for a foodie! Service was outstanding!
