Tree Tops Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Very charming interior a la Frank Lloyd Wright. Food was varied with 4 different preparations of filet alone - all of which were excellent. A good number of choices for other dishes and sides. Filets were done perfectly. Not a lot of wine choices but corkage is only $ 15 so BYOB is a great option. Strongly recommend.
We are kinda food snobs...we want our food to be fresh and taste fresh! We want our tastebuds to be in heaven with each and every bite and Tree Tops accomplished this and more! Very nice ambiance and food was exquisite ! Heather is the best! I had the portabella raviolis in a garlic cream sauce, a poached pear salad (see pic) and for dessert I had lemon cake that was out of this world! I sooo wish we lived in PA and could dine here on a regular basis. Enjoy!!!
Sunday was a cold and rainy afternoon outside so we missed the outdoor deck experience, but the large windows overlooking the forest's fall foliage was still very pretty. (Outdoor dining in nicer weather would be perfect here.) My wife and I shared a very good fresh garden salad for a starter; I had a nice turkey on sourdough grilled sandwich that was generous with the meat and cheese. It came with a cup of soup that my wife had for her entree, and she said it hit the spot. Coffee is made fresh at your table in a drip-carafe. Service was excellent and the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired tables, chairs and fabrics were a nice touch. Price for lunch was very fair.
Extremely underwhelmed. Eating here was better than going to a Subway, but not by much. Granted there aren't a whole lot of choices in the area, but it's like these folks know that. Our wait person was slightly better than surly. It wasn't just us; we didn't like how she dealt with other people who came in either. I am from Ohio originally so I remember what it is like to dine in a place that is off the beaten path, but this place was not even remotely charming. The food, when we FINALLY got it, wasn't bad, but it wasn't much to get excited about for the price either. There were only two tables seated, so it's not like they were slammed. It's like they have figured out they have a captive Frank Lloyd Wright audience and they are not even trying.
We enjoyed our evening here, celebrating a birthday for one in our party. Although the food was good, it was not as spectacular as expected given the previous reviews. Linda, our server, was very attentive, and it was overall a nice experience that we would recommend.
There was an unusual odor throughout the indoor restaurant. The steaks were not prepared as ordered but were tasty. The tuna selection was good. much too expensive for the quality and amount of food served. So disappointed from previous visit last year 2016.
This place is remarkable. This was my second time enjoying delicious, mouth-watering gourmet selections. The service was sheer perfection. The seafood served on a small cast iron skillet kept the scallops, crab and shrimp perfectly warm throughout my dinner. The grilled Caesar salad was outstanding. I spoke with the cook/owner, Heather, after dinner. One can tell just how much she loves fine cuisine and this beautiful venue.
Extortionate prices for tiny portions and terrible - TRULY abysmal - service. Nothing more than a tremendously expensive tourist trap. Get 'em in by association with the Frank Lloyd Wright sites, give them a bad dining experience to remember. We were very disappointed.
Everything about this dining experience was amazing! The ambiance, food, service, history of the property, background music etc etc was perfect. I told the server that it was my husband's birthday and a dessert appeared after the meal. They remade a drink to eliminate an allergy related ingredient no questions asked. It could be a little pricey depending on what is ordered, but I knew that ahead of time and we were celebrating a birthday so it was fine. We will definitely be back when in the area!!
Set in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania the venue was unique, the food was excellent, and the ambiance is hard to beat. The food was excellent and the decor fit in with the jewels on the property, the Duncan House and the other two houses on the property. The service was top notch.
I would recommend the restaurant without hesitation.
This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel staff during our visit to the area to see Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob. It is located in the PolyMath Park Resort, a collection of Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian homes. The restaurant was built in the FLW Usonian Style and also serves as the check in office for overnight stays in the historic homes. It is a small, intimate restaurant with a large patio overlooking woodland. Since it was cold, the patio was closed. We had delicious, creative meals and an attentive server who explained menu choices. It was not busy so restaurant was quiet but tables are very close and conversations can be clearly overheard. We conversed with people next to us who were staying overnight at Duncan House. Heather, The chef/owner stopped by and explained the history of PolyMath Park.
I highly recommend Tree Tops. Food outstanding, Charming ambiance, excellent service!
Was for our 16th wedding anniversary. The only downside of the evening was the weather, and we certainly can't control that. The entire experience was fabulous. The setting, the service and the meal were absolutely perfect.....I would recommend this for any occasion.....
We drove to Treetop after touring the Fallingwater Frank Lloyd Wright house. There are other FLW houses near Treetop, but we did not go to them. Treetop made a convenient stop on the way back to Pittsburgh. Treetop is literally in the trees, being on a 2nd floor open deck in the woods. It's lovely. There's also attractive indoor dining, but no one was in there because it was a beautiful day. The service was friendly and good. The menu was small, but we were happy with our sandwiches and salads. One weird thing... they have wine and mixed drinks, but no beer. No beer? Side note - we were there with glasses during the eclipse. There was a small opening in the trees that enabled us to watch. Perfect!
I wish we lived closer ! We enjoyed a delightful
evening meal , my husband's choice was the chicken with local vegetables and I chose the seafood pasta that also includes fresh vegetables.
The greens salad stater was stunning!
We had a wine and a G&T each. A generous meal at a very reasonable price. Ambience to dream ...until our return.
The restaurant and surrounding property were absolutely beautiful. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside which was very relaxing. The food was delicious and the craft cocktails were very good. The only food related thing that was lacking were the dessert choices. There were only two - a flourless chocolate option and cheesecake.
Service started out really strong but then the waitress all but abandoned us when a large bus tour came in. Everyone in my party left the restaurant and went to the car while I waited for the check. Once I signed the bill I could not find her again and ended up leaving it on the hostess stand.
Tree Tops is a great little restaurant with interesting and delicious food options. Things to know:
1. It's in the middle of nowhere.
2. The parking situation isn't great.
3. The price tag is high.
4. The cocktails are just OK.
1. The venue is really quaint and romantic.
2. The service, while a little slow, is exceptional.
3. The food quality and presentation are both excellent.
"Take Home Message"
This is the sort of place I visit one or twice a year for a romantic dinner. I really enjoy it, but I don't go here regularly because of the location and price.
Excellent restaurant for a special occasion. We were there for my daughter's 21st birthday. The location is part of the enjoyment. The Brie appetizer was excellent. The chicken and trout dishes were very tasty. Everyone enjoyed. The chicken cutlets were delicious but a very small portion for the price. But would overall recommend for a special occasion.
My husband, daughter, and I stayed at Polymath Park and had dinner at Tree Tops. The atmosphere was quiet and the views were beautiful. The dinner menu changes often but I ordered a local trout with brussel sprouts and it came with a red potato. It was the best tasting food I've ever eaten.
