My first time at tree bistro. Very impressed. Thoroughly enjoyed the seafood pasta, roasted salmon and special of the night, the pork chop. Delicious chocolate mousse. Is now on my list of places to go.
Love tree bistro, such a lovely space. Food is great. Service is excellent.
Visiting NYC from Boston...took my wife to celebrate our anniversary. Picked the Tree Bistro on the basis of the great feedback and we were amply rewarded with one of the best meals we've had this year.
Zucchini pasta special appetizer was a refreshing start, followed by very good entrees.
The real show-stopper was the creme caramel with wafer-thin caramelized crust. Not your average creme caramel.....!
Pretty atmosphere for a Saturday night and service was attentive. We had a lot to eat and 3 glasses of wine and the bill was only $100.
It's been a while since I ate at Tree, after the fire at the place next door. I've always been a fan of Tree and their back garden, which I hope is open again soon. Tree is better than I remember. Nice, expanded wine list. Gorgeous food, excellent desserts and friendly people. Ambience is lovely, love the brick walls. I'll be back a lot more often now that I know they've re-opened.
Excellent meal, had a great pre-show anniversary date with my girlfriend.
Cozy bistro with reliable, fresh and tasty offerings. Owner Colm is welcoming and has that gift of Irish wit and humor.
Good place to catch up with a few friends or for date night.
Magnificent menu, service, pricing, and quality, we will return often.
Fantastic food, great cosy environment with excellent service. Would highly recommend!!
Really enjoyed the food here, excellent service from Kathleen!
Quirky, small and with great atmosphere Tree Bistro was a lucky find on our trip to NYC and was a perfect spot for a romantic dinner.
The place is tiny. The garden was closed but it was not made clear in the reservation. The food is not completely French -- it was an 'European'. Overall it was a disappointment.
Reasonably priced French fare that’s solid but unspectacular. Decent wine list as well. Because the terrace is closed the interior space does feel quite cramped and fairly loud
My husband and I love this restaurant! Consistently great food! A unique and romantic restaurant with efficient and thoughtful staff! A go to spot for us. We even got free champagne for a date night!
Fun evening with great food. Owner/waiter was very gracious!
We are so glad that Tree is open again. We sat at the bar and enjoyed amazing food with casual conversation with the owner. The dishes are thoughtfully curated and delicious to eat! I highly recommend Tree.
Yayyyyy!!!!! Tree Bistro is open again!!! I missed my neighborhood favorite!!! The menu has kept all the old favorites and added a few new twists!!! Tue goat cheese soufflé cake is not to be missed!!! So happy to see all my friends again 🙂
Hospitality, and organization need work.
Duck wontons - no.
Mains - burger & chicken were nice
Nice and charming
One dish was not hot but they quickly amended
Will return for sure
Excellent food. Hospitable and very friendly. Very good service. Recommended.
My second time there, good quality food. Reasonably priced for Manhattan. Decent wine list, wish they had a few more lower priced bottles. Great service, friendly, family atmosphere
When we came in it seemed really noisy because a larger group was having a good time.
But we were lead in the rear part where it was comfortable and quiet enough for a nice talk.
My husband found this place for our anniversary and we were blown away by the amazing menu and excellent service!! The appetizer tasting plate was delicious - including zucchini fritters, duck wontons, and feta balls with chipotle sauce (a meal in and of themselves). My husband had the French onion soup and it rivalled any of the soups we’ve had in Paris. His Steak Frittes was done to medium rare perfection and the brandy sauce was peppery and added a hint of sweetness. My salmon was amazing and each bite melted in my mouth. Initially we thought it was a limited menu but with every single dish done to gourmet perfection, we will return here again and again. The desserts were so amazing we had three of them - dark chocolate mousse with real whipped cream, key lime pie with gingersnap crust and an oreo beignet, on the house, that came warm to the touch and melt in your mouth good !! The owner Colm was working hard, but made time to stop by so that we could give him our highest compliments. A Fabulous and Charming Anniversary Meal !! Congrats to the entire staff.
great night with friends window table is the best. watermelon salad was fantastic. Escargots & steak frites too. Molly Dooker wine awesome!
It was a perfect meal (service and food). A negativ point was the seafood linguine which had a lot of cheese in it (BAD IDEA)
Great local place
Just did not like the noisy a/c in the quiet garden
Great outdoor space
One of my most favorite places to eat in NYC, even after 10 years here!
Fantastic neighborhood bistro! The perfect place to meet friends for dinner or a date. Very warmly lit, cozy spot. Delicious!
Tree Bistro is a small charming, very solid East Village neighbourhood restaurant that has a welcoming vibe. There is so much to like here. It's charm; excellent food topped off with great service by the young staff. We had a table of 6 and had to move our booking to a later time due to one of the party being at the Emergency Department. Tree Bistro could not have been more accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend.
I would give all 5 stars but God, the chairs were so uncomfortable!
the boss of the bistro tree is very friendly, I recommend if you go to east village
Generous portions, crab cakes, roast chicken, risotto were all tasty and perfectly prepared.
The bottle of Pouilly Fume was great value.
The patio was nicely sheltered. Warm welcome and friendly service. And the owner checked that we were satisfied.
I look forward to returning.
Food was excellent, service was friendly. First time there but will absolutely return!
Right near our apt but somehow never went here. Will go there regularly now!
Excellent food, a great ambiance and perfect for everyone's taste
We absolutely loved our experience here! Our table in the back garden felt very private and it was perfect to be in open air yet covered with the tent. The waitress was even thoughtful enough to ask if we were in a time crunch (to see a show for example) as one dish we ordered could take longer to prepare. She took the time to chat with us and we enjoyed that very much! The food was delicious as well and we would definitely recommend to anyone!
We had a birthday in the back in their garden which was absolutely charming. The staff was very friendly and the food amazing. We had the calamari to start with which came with chorizo which I never had before. It was great and I would recommend it. The steak frites was great. Great frites and great steak. It was not a flank steak the way you would have it in France but a bigger American steak (not sure what the cut was but it was perfectly done). They brought out fantastic deserts for the birthday boy. All in all a great discovery and we;'ll be going back there.
Tree Bistro remains a bit funky but it's a bistro and it's the East Village, kinda, and what do you expect? We were in the fan-roiled back garden, it was hot and humid out but once we got used to the "wind", it was comfy enough. Food was good, bistro-esque, somewhat limited menu but totally adequate. Our server was attentive and charming. Very glad we ate there on a quiet pre-Fourth Tuesday in the thunderstormy City...
Went here for a date and it was perfect! Lovely outdoor seating with romantic lighting
One of our go-to’s in that neighborhood. Can always count on good food and service.
Kitchen with gross errors. Good service from the waiters.
