My second time there, good quality food. Reasonably priced for Manhattan. Decent wine list, wish they had a few more lower priced bottles. Great service, friendly, family atmosphere

When we came in it seemed really noisy because a larger group was having a good time.
But we were lead in the rear part where it was comfortable and quiet enough for a nice talk.

My husband found this place for our anniversary and we were blown away by the amazing menu and excellent service!! The appetizer tasting plate was delicious - including zucchini fritters, duck wontons, and feta balls with chipotle sauce (a meal in and of themselves). My husband had the French onion soup and it rivalled any of the soups we’ve had in Paris. His Steak Frittes was done to medium rare perfection and the brandy sauce was peppery and added a hint of sweetness. My salmon was amazing and each bite melted in my mouth. Initially we thought it was a limited menu but with every single dish done to gourmet perfection, we will return here again and again. The desserts were so amazing we had three of them - dark chocolate mousse with real whipped cream, key lime pie with gingersnap crust and an oreo beignet, on the house, that came warm to the touch and melt in your mouth good !! The owner Colm was working hard, but made time to stop by so that we could give him our highest compliments. A Fabulous and Charming Anniversary Meal !! Congrats to the entire staff.

Tree Bistro is a small charming, very solid East Village neighbourhood restaurant that has a welcoming vibe. There is so much to like here. It's charm; excellent food topped off with great service by the young staff. We had a table of 6 and had to move our booking to a later time due to one of the party being at the Emergency Department. Tree Bistro could not have been more accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Highly recommend.

Exceptional value.
Generous portions, crab cakes, roast chicken, risotto were all tasty and perfectly prepared.
The bottle of Pouilly Fume was great value.
The patio was nicely sheltered. Warm welcome and friendly service. And the owner checked that we were satisfied.
I look forward to returning.

We absolutely loved our experience here! Our table in the back garden felt very private and it was perfect to be in open air yet covered with the tent. The waitress was even thoughtful enough to ask if we were in a time crunch (to see a show for example) as one dish we ordered could take longer to prepare. She took the time to chat with us and we enjoyed that very much! The food was delicious as well and we would definitely recommend to anyone!

We had a birthday in the back in their garden which was absolutely charming. The staff was very friendly and the food amazing. We had the calamari to start with which came with chorizo which I never had before. It was great and I would recommend it. The steak frites was great. Great frites and great steak. It was not a flank steak the way you would have it in France but a bigger American steak (not sure what the cut was but it was perfectly done). They brought out fantastic deserts for the birthday boy. All in all a great discovery and we;'ll be going back there.

Tree Bistro remains a bit funky but it's a bistro and it's the East Village, kinda, and what do you expect? We were in the fan-roiled back garden, it was hot and humid out but once we got used to the "wind", it was comfy enough. Food was good, bistro-esque, somewhat limited menu but totally adequate. Our server was attentive and charming. Very glad we ate there on a quiet pre-Fourth Tuesday in the thunderstormy City...

Dined on the patio on a relatively warm evening. Very Pleasant. Our party of three had one Haricot Verts Salad (B), one Kale Caesar (B+), one steamed mussels (B+), one Zucchini Corn Risotto appetizer (B+), one sauvignon blanc, one sparkling bruit wine and one French fries that were very good. Service was excellent. Cost $90.37 plus tip. Very cordial management.

What a gem! Hard to believe it took us so long to find.. it’s a comfort food menu ...in the very best sense.
And every dish was at least good, if not terrific. It also might be the friendliest restaurant you will find in the neighborhood. Especially nice in the back...in the “garden”

Tree Bistro was such a pleasant surprise. We went with a small group, and every single one of us was raving about our personal course selection. The wine recommendation from the waitress was fantastic - loved it. Our waitress was also skilled at suggesting certain dishes to try. Everything we ordered was excellent. We will definitely be back and will happily recommend it to others.

Tree Bistro was not what I expected in terms of the ambiance. It was a little run down and cluttered. We sat in the back, outside tent dining area and it was extremely hot, no AC and one dirty old fan--this was a big disappointment. The second disappointment, was that they do not serve hard alcohol, only beer and wine. The food and service was really good but the uncomfortable temperature somewhat ruined the evening. On a positive note, the appetizers were amazing!! Highly recommend the mussels, escargot, crab cakes and the triage (fried zucchini). I also had the Burger and it was absolutely delicious. If you don't mind the heat or the clutter--try it out!

We had an early reservation and we were the first to arrive which was like having our own dining room. The garden area is just lovely, a true oasis in a very busy city. We ordered the mussels which were superb! For an entree two of us had the steak and fries. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. However the steaks were very tough and the fries tastes like they had been frozen and heated in the oven. The other guest ordered the duck and was very pleased with her choice.

I found this restaurant on the OpenTable website and chose it because we were in the neighborhood and my friend is gluten free. The wait staff was beyond nice, courteous and prompt. We sat in the garden which was perfect for an early summer night dinner. The food was excellent, the portions were good sized, the drinks, dessert were all fabulous. I would definitely go back.

Old friends got together and wanted a notable restaurant close to the Vineyard Theatre. I had never been to the restaurant before but the menu sounded appetizing. The four of us were extremely happy with the dishes we ordered and the preparation. The waitress, via Australia, and the bartender were extremely helpful and friendly. I would go again and would highly recommend this restaurant.
