tree bistro Ratings and Reviews
Tree was absolutely wonderful. The staff were accommodating and kind. We had excellent food, an amazing wine list and the owner even showed us around and told us the history of the restaurant. The garden had not yet been winterized, so we could not sit out there, but because we were celebrating a Birthday, they made sure we had the best table in the house. I will most definitely be back and will recommend to all my friends!
I came for the linguine with clams and mussels in a saffron broth. Been hearing about it for the last couple of years. It was everything I had hoped, and more! The steak frites was also terrific. Slightly disappointed with the escargot though. I think they add lemon and dill to the garlic butter sauce which threw us off a bit. Not bad but not expected. Otherwise, an amazing experience.
We chose this restaurant based on trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We were first seated in the garden room which was not fully closed off as the weather has been unpredictable. We asked to be moved to the main room and were immediately accommodated. Great food. Cozy. Warm and attentive staff. Will be back
This is a small, quaint restaurant in the East Village. We sat on the enclosed patio which was lovely even though it was cool and windy outside. Service was efficient and friendly. Two of us had the sirloin steak which was delicious. Would definitely return.
First dinner out in NYC and we picked a winner. The food and service were absolutely the best. The seating is intimate but can be great for a group of friends. We requested the garden area, which was great. This place is worth the effort to find it. We will definitely return.
Tree Bistro was featured on the food network for a particular seafood linguine and it did not disappoint! The meal was delicious, we also shared a delicious and perfectly sized appetizer. The service was perfect, no complaints! We sat in the garden and it was not too crowded, easy to hear each other and the ambiance was pretty romantic, but there are large tables for parties as well. Overall lovely evening!
I absolutely adore this hidden gem! The staff were all super friendly and we even got a chance to meet the owner of the restaurant, who was very humble and hospitable! This is one of those places where they aren't cut throat and they practice good business ethics. The food was tasty and portion size, price is just right. I would definitely come back for such a comforting environment and the lovely hospitality service and food!
Bonne continuation !!
I agree completely with the rave reviews here. Had dinner with a friend in the charming and quirky outdoor garden space. The menu is relatively short, but everything we had was beautifully prepared and delicious. The wine list, likewise, is very manageable, with a range of prices from inexpensive to expensive. We took the manager's recommendation of a Nero that was exactly as she described and wonderful. We had the crab cakes appetizer (divine), the crispy calamari appetizer, roast chicken and seafood linguine entrees. All superb. The owner, Colm, the manager and our server all tended to us, with obvious pride in the establishment an warm, welcoming attention. This is a hidden gem! We'll be back!
Went to t his French bistro after reading reviews. It was close to a theatre we were going to and in a neighborhood unfamiliar to us. Hoped to have steak frites, which I love. The garden setting was very nice but the steak was so tough it was impossible to cut. As the waitress took our dishes away when we were finished, she asked how everything was but never waited for an answer and din't comment on the fact that most of the steak was left on the plate. Would not go back again.
We were a group of 11 (children and adults). We sat at a long table in the dining room which is a neat space. The food was excellent. They had several gluten free options which was nice since I am a celiac. Their desserts were yummy and they brought our group complimentary fried Oreos which the kids loved. It's not a family restaurant but they are kid friendly.
We celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday in NYC and dined at Tree Bistro. We found it doing online research before our trip and my daughter fell in love with its charm. It definitely lived up to our expectations and was an enchanting environment. Upon arrival, she was greeted with Happy Birthday and was allowed to select from a few outdoor tables under a covered tent. We selected a private corner table and had a marvelous evening. The food was very tasty and the service was nice. We did order desserts and after we ate them they brought out 4 fried oreos with a birthday candle. Had they brought it out sooner we wouldn't have ordered the desserts but they were so sinfully delicious we managed to eat them as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
Tree Bistro is a pleasant restaurant, good food and service, especially noteworthy desserts. It was a hot night when we ate there, and we ate outside because that is, basically, where you sit, and despite the heat, it was enjoyable and easy to take. It's a little run down, physically, but not problematically so, and by 9 when we left it was bustling. Good, easy place to eat...
