Tre Trattoria @ The San Antonio Museum of Art
You can't go wrong with anything you order. Aim to dine with Tre Trattoria during good weather so you can eat outside and enjoy the very beautiful Riverwalk while you eat some very delicious Northern Italian inspired dishes.
Food was amazing, service could be quicker.
Perfect evening, food and service were fantastic! New favorite Italian restaurant
Made a reservation for 10 for my birthday and received a warm greeting upon arrival. Server was very attentive as well as staff. Ordered the steak for my main course but tried the deviled eggs, mozzarella cheese, risotto, golden beets, artichoke, bolognese, and many other dishes and was very impressed with the flavors and textures. Steak came out a bit rare the first time, but they recooked it and took it off my bill. Would definitely come back.
The waitress wasn’t friendly and attentive. My husbands pizza was burnt and my meatballs were burnt on one side. We told the waitress but nothing was done about it. Also the restaurant was very smoky from the kitchen. I’m not sure if we will go back.
We had such a great time. It was a great evening to sit outside overlooking the river. The food was amazing and the service was excellent! I can’t wait to return and try different things on the menu. Everything looked so good. It was hard to choose.
I have enjoyed lunch at Tre Trat on several different occasions. All have been exceptional. Now I need to try it for dinner.
Excellent. We are never disappointed with our service. Whole staff is excellent. We truly love Richard and his outstanding service!!!
My only complaint is parking. The walk from the parking lot to the restaurant was quite a hike in heels on cobblestone. Otherwise excellent food, service and the new ambiance is wonderful.
Great food and waiter!
Food was delicious. Service was great. Excellent ambiance.
Nice restaurant with great outside dining. Nice view on the river walk . We really enjoyed the food and it was close to the Tobin center.
The food choices are excellent, but always see what the daily specials are too! For desert, you cannot go wrong ordering the Nutella!
Visiting San Antonio and had a recommendation from a friend for Tre Trattoria. Soo glad we took it! Loved the setting, location, ambiance. Wait staff very attentive and friendly, lovely menu and excellent wine choices. Loved it all!
We were seated immediately on the patio and the view is perfect. Our server was great and he was very busy but incredibly attentive. The food was amazing.
Excellent food! Pulled mozzarella was fantastic
Along the Riverwalk kind of in an out of the way area, but outstanding service and food in a delightful atmosphere. Had a prosciutto, burrata & arugula cast iron pizza, the cold artichoke appetizer, and took a roasted cauliflower pasta entrée to go . All tasty and unique. Tried one of their craft cocktails as well, and found it head and shoulders above the ordinary rocks drinks we had previously ordered. We dined al fresco on the balcony above the Riverwalk under their propane patio heaters and had a thoroughly enjoyable romantic dinner. Were delighted when we happened across the 2/2019 issue of San Antonio mag and saw a full page picture of our Tre pizza in an article about the top 12 pies in San Antonio! Wish we had tried the hand-pulled mozzarella....
Always a wonderful experience every time we visit. Thank you for such a great place, great food, and great service!

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. The $16 salad special was gritty (salad appeared sandy and unwashed) was missing more than half of the components ie avocado, pumpkin seeds, strawberries. My dining companion ordered the house Italian and received the Caesar salad and upon questioning was told it was the correct one. The roasted eggplant (another special of the day) was uncooked and inedible. It was raw with some tomato sauce poured over it. No one came over to apologize or check up on us. We did each receive a complimentary glass of wine but would have appreciated the manager stopping by. While the view was lovely the dining experience was disappointing at best.
The ambiance is cozy even with the industrial feel. Food and drink menus compliment each other well and the daily specials are a nice surprise! I had the special of the day, Blackened Alaskan Salmon with potato gnocchi over ricotta and red sauce. Ask for Heather to push that service over the top!
Only negative was a little too much salt on crispy skin trout.
Just girls )ladies) catching up over good wine and a typically delicious meal at Tre.
Food was absolutely delicious. Had the burrata, caesar, lobster bisque, spaghetti & meatballs, and the gnocchi. All was just perfect.
Great location on the river walk, right behind the SAMA. Loved the ambience inside and the open kitchen. Service was great and quick. Came here for a day date and the food/drinks lived up to our expectations. The pasta is all handmade in house. I highly recommend the gnocchi and smoked Gouda/truffle pasta. The only thing that was a bit underwhelming was the house salad. We will be back to try the pizza!
This was one of the most wonderful dinning experiences I’ve had. Everything from the cocktails we enjoyed to the salad and risotto I had was phenomenal. Our waiter was kind and attentive without being intrusive. He was always around when we needed him to be which was fantastic. He’s definitely a suave man, I’d keep him assigned to the patio as he’s a real looker.
I loved sitting on the patio as it over looks the San Antonio river. the whole restaurant gave me a big city feel in a small town. I felt like I was dinning in SOHO or Hell’s Kitchen or anywhere in Manhattan really.
The hostess was so well dressed and inviting she knew who I was as soon as I walked up to the host stand. Greeted me instantly and gave me a choice of where I wanted to sit since it wasn’t too crowded.
Overall an amazing experience. I will definitely be back.
Great evening out for valentines dinner. Dinner was a bit overpriced but better than a lot of other restaurants.
Always good when we dine! Food, atmosphere and service A+++!!
Start with the pulled mozzarella! You won’t be disappointed!
The food was wonderful and the menu was generally pleasing. The service was amiable if on the slow side of acceptable. The wine list was minimal but covered the basics. Parking was confusing and the one unisex toilet for the entire restaurant was totally unacceptable. The offer of restroom facilities in the (closed) museum and the dark and generally abandoned plaza just didn’t cut it. I’ll leave this place to visitors and conventioneers for a while and then give Tre another try.
We've chosen to eat at Tre Trattoria three times in six weeks. The setting at the San Antonio Museum of Art is so lovely and handy when seeing an exhibit there. We've been inside when the weather was a bit chilly and rainy, and on the terrace overlooking the River Walk when it was warmer. The service is excellent. The pizza is very good, the pasta is very good, and the protein entrees are very good. The wine list pairs well with the food.
Free parking across the street from the Museum and you can walk through the Museum to the back courtyard to the restaurant without paying a fee. Indeed, we recommend you use the restrooms in the Museum, which are larger than what the restaurant can accommodate in its historic building.
Lovely Sunday lunch with out of town guests. An ugly weather day made beautiful with art and great food. My brother from DC had last eaten at Tre’s former location on Broadway. Was delighted that the SAMA location was every bit as good as he remembered.
What a gem! We were in town, from Seattle, and met some friends for brunch. Fabulous location, amazing food, great service! Don't miss a chance to experience Tre Trattoria in San Antonio!
Enjoyed a birthday dinner with my family. Pretty, intimate ambience, delicious food.
Prom date. Great food and atmosphere
Everything we had was excellent. The trout , pasta, salad and appetizers. We’ll be back.
great staff, attendant but not overwhelming
Although we ordered from the restaurant week menu, we had to add one of the cast-iron pizzas as the trip would not have been complete without it ;)
I always go here when it’s restaurant week. You really get the bang for your buck. The crispy trout is so wonderful, tasty, one of the best meals I’ve ever had! I’m not too crazy about the Nutella dessert but my other friends have really enjoyed it. You’ll never have a bad meal at this wonderful establishment. Bravo Chef Jason!
Kitchen and wait staff were having an 'off night' by the server's admission. It did take a good while to get ordered items to the table.
My date and I split the Market Salad that was delicious!!! It has strawberries, apples, seeds, and plenty of Parmesan cheese : ) They even plated it on two separate plates for us. We also had the hand pulled mozzarella with buttered toast, delicious garlic flavor! As for our entrees we had the spaghetti and meatballs and the campanelle bolognese. The spaghetti noodles were a bit under cooked and the marinara was very sweet, with an odd cough syrupy aftertaste. But my date and I both agreed that the campanelle dish was by far the best!
