Very nice, socially distant
On what would normally be a very busy night, the restaurant was not busy. We chose to sit outside by the heater, and then went on to wait 15 to 18 minutes before our server approached our table and greeted us. We ordered our drinks and all menu items as we planned to share right away. It then took an additional 15 minutes for us to receive our drinks. We ordered the small plate meatballs, the mussels, the carbonara, the mushroom pizza, the spicy broccoli and the roasted brussels sprouts. The meatballs, carbonara, mushroom pizza, spicy broccoli and roasted brussels sprouts all came out around the same time and in a timely fashion and were all appealing to the eye. However, your Palette was left with much to desire as they were flavorless to say the least. Everything was in desperate need of a touch of salt and mediocre at best. Our server did not stop by until 20 minutes into our food to check on us letting us know the mussels would be out shortly. We then waited a further 10 minutes for these after they had been ordered 40 minutes prior. The arrived and were so badly over cooked and rubbery that all three of us had to spit our first mussel out. The sauce again had no flavor. After waiting 10 more minutes for our server to come back to tell her about our mishap, she still had not shown so we grabbed another server to tell her and ask her to take them. We also asked to receive our check. Our server finally came back out after another 15 minutes to drop the check. No apologies and no manager came to speak to us, she simply stated she was doing us a favor by taking them off the check. We waited another 10 minutes prior to our server coming to get the check with our card and an additional 8 minutes for her to bring our card back. Overall it was a disappointing first experience and we have no reason to return.
Food is good not great, ambiance is probably the best part giving a modern downtown kitchen feel. Service was extremely poor to the point we did not continue our dinner and left. Ordering appetizers and a round of drinks took an hour and 30 minutes which we then got our check and left for another restaurant. Drinks are good but quite expensive ($16 for a old fashioned and $18 for a Tito’s cosmo). If service was good I would give it 4 stars although nothing more.
one of my favorite places to eat in milwaukee! mussels and mushroom pizza are to die for. I miss the celery and escarole salad though ! 😭
The week before my wife's birthday, I made a reservation at what used to be one of her favorite restaurants. I reserved early and confirmed. When we arrived, we were seated at a small side table next to the kitchen. It was seriously the worst table in the place. People who walked in after us were led to much better tables.
Miserable choice of table aside, the food arrived in what was described by my wife as a "kind of brown mess where everything looked the same" (she had the swordfish). We did our best to have a good evening. But I really couldn't shake how far that experience was with how we remembered this place pre-pandemic.
We used to be regulars that were shown thoughtful seating and were served some really good food. Now, Tre Rivali seems to be losing that charm, that service, and the quality that we used to like. Now I would really hesitate recommend Tre Rivali to anyone. And I would definitely not spend a special occasion there again.
We had a delightful brunch with family. We had a 16mo old with us, and it was nice to have a crayons and something for him to color on.
Great food and service.
This is our favorite restaurant in Milwaukee! The charcuterie board is amazing and the small plates are delicious! We are never disappointed!!
Service was very good as we celebrated my wife’s birthday. All the food we ordered were excellent except for the grilled octopus that was charred and had a bitter aftertaste. We’ve had a lot of octopus before but this one just had too much bitterness to it. The oven baked shrimp and the crispy pork belly over pasta were awesome. We would recommend dining there. Very nice restaurant and convenient since it’s downstairs of Kimpton where we were staying.
Patio dinning. Great service. Ordered spicy broccoli, hummus , wood grilled mushroom and goat cheese pizza with a a glass of red. Also had the chocolate mouse. All delicious. My friend had the shrimp and the cheesecake dessert with pistachio ice cream. Delicious
Brunch was good, but salmon bagel entree took a step backwards. Please bring back the prior deconstructed version.
Eggs Benedict was good but English muffin was not toasted and was doughy
Megan’s service was great and outside dining was as well
Highly recommend the meat & cheese board and the mussels...delicious!
We had a very nice dinner. My only complaint is the size of the drinks. We paid fourteen dollars per drink and the glass was barley full.
We were in town dropping our daughter off at MIAD for her first year of college. We wanted a nice dinner out. Loved Tre Rivali!!! Food was wonderful- definitely recommend the 1/2 Cheese and 1/2 Meat Charcuterie Board. And our waitress, Larissa, made our experience. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and help make our family’s time together special. Thank you!!
Service was amazing. Food was fantastic, especially the Octopus and the Pastas (Carbonara & Buccatini). But the Beet Salad stoke the show for me, it was honestly one of the best salads I’ve EVER had. The cocktails were delicious, they even subbed out a sliver tequila for me because I don’t love Mezcal. We will return, it was great and eating outdoors in a beautiful summer night made it even better.
The food and drinks are simply superb. The ambiance of sidewalk dining is so fun and elegant, as well!
Great portions, very tasty, good service and punctual seating
I had a really wonderful evening with my mom at Tre Rivali. The cheeseboard is phenomenal. Our server Marco was very polite and service was great. Definitely going to come back again soon!
The restaurant is really good and the price is fair for the quality
This restaurant never disappoints - it's one of our favorites.
Food was delicious! Loved eating on the patio.
Amazing and interesting food. Service was amazing did what we needed and nothing more. Already recommended to multiple friends
Service was great.! Food was amazing. The environment was great.! Music was beautiful.! It was all amazing.!
We really enjoyed the outdoor seating which felt very safe given the pandemic. The staff all were taking precautions (masks, hand sanitizer) and the tables were spaced far apart. What was so wonderful is the quality of the food was unimpacted. The menu was extensive and some of our favorite dishes had been tweaked to be even better - get the tomato toast!!! The wine list also offers some excellent choices. It was just wonderful to have a wonderful dinner and upscale experience even in these difficult times.
The waiter for us was very nice, pleasant, and attentive.
Went for a mother and daughter’s night out. Wish we would have had the option to select outdoor dining when making an advance reservation. We were one of the few tables inside. The service was great and the food was good. The drinks are overpriced for their size. Two dirty Tito’s martinis were $36, very small, and no specialty olives. Other than that the experience was great as always.
Great place for summer outside dinning, with great food and service
AmaIng food!! Great atmosphere, great date spot
We are in the middle of a pandemic. Today a mask mandate was instituted requiring people to wear masks when social distancing is not possible in public, even outdoors. TreRivali has outdoor seating outside the restaurant adjacent to the restaurant and along the curb, allowing the public to walk down the sidewalk between diners and less than three feet away from those seated. No attempt WHATSOEVER was made by staff to ascertain that those people walking by the dining tables and not dining at the restaurant wear masks as required by law. At the very least, the restaurant should put signs up before the rows of diners on both ends asking those not dining yet walking by the tables either 1) Walk around the diners on the edge of the street altogether avoiding the dining area, 2) If they must walk by those dining, show some respect and concern for public safety by WEARING MASKS AS REQUIRED BY LAW, and 3) For godsakes don’t light up a cigarette as you are walking by! While we have always enjoyed both the food and service at TreRivali, we will not return until the pandemic is over, as we were made to feel very unsafe. We should have left.
Great food! Service could of been a little faster with first course but overall good experience and would recommend!
Visiting in connection with sports tournament
18th Anniversary dinner
Treat their employees like garbage and overcharge for everything. Hope the business rots!
The beet salad was a most delicious delight, and combined with the NY Strip was an outstanding dinner. Pick the Panna Cotta dessert with the blueberry compote for a "POW" fireworks ending to the meal.
Sarah was a phenomenal server! The food was amazing. Thanks, Tre! You never disappoint.
Every bite was delicious!
Amazing and delicious! Desara was fabulous. The chef made my wife a special began pasta dish and I had the lamb kabobs and the ravioli. We also had the hummus which was superb! We will be back again for sure.
The wait staff were very busy chatting with each other. The spacing between drinks, appetizers, main & dessert was unusually long-especially considering there were only about 5 tables with people as we were there on 3/14. The appetizers were good-the mussels were fantastic. But My husband’s chicken dish was SO DRY we had to send it back! I had the pork chop and it was good but not great. The toffee dessert was good but really really sweet, couldn’t eat more than half as started to get a little sickening. Over all we will not go back. For the prices charged, the food should be spectacular and it was not even close.
Service was excellent and usually the food is too. I eat here frequently as I live in the area. However, their recipe for caccio e pepe bucatini is terrible and not even close as to how it should taste. Appetizers were great
We love this restaurant. We’ve been lots and lots of times. Always had good service and great food. We’ll be back again soon. ‼️‼️‼️
