This restaurant is a hidden gem. All pasta is fresh made, owners are on site always doing the best to make you feel like family..... there slogan, Come in as friends, leave as family. So very true. Robert, one of the owners son truly represents the culture and ideals of this restruant.
Food was fantastic! Only complaint was that it took our party of 4 a very long time to receive our main courses. Several tables that were seated after us received their food first. It took us over 2 hours from the time we arrived to the time we paid the bill. I’m thinking it was a fluke. We will definitely be back.
First visit for us and we are already looking forward to going back!
Service and food was outstanding! Would mostly definitely recommend to anyone looking for good and fair priced food!
Food was not very good. Both mine and my Wife’s. Also overpriced. Will not go back.
We tried this restaurant because it was listed as #5 in Winston Salem. The service was good but we didn't like the food for the most part. The sweet tea and bread was good. The salad was a little too wet but the dressing had a good taste to it. The filling in the manicotti was dry and crumbly. My son didn't like the taste of the chicken parmesan. The sausage and gravy was just ok.
Our first visit to Tre Nonne so maybe this was a bad night. The mussels were fishy. The veal francaise was simply not edible. The scallops in the seafood pasta were raw. The veal parm was smothered in too much mozzerella cheese. The the penne pasta side dish was not even penne pasta. Finally. It took over an hour for our meal to come out. It was not busy.
Unfortunately. We will not be back.
Salmon special was over-cooked. Marinara sauce was bland
I had gone on OpenTable to find a nice Italian restaurant while I was here visiting from Florida. We drove from Greensboro to the restaurant. Our waiter was very sweet. The salad was great. We asked for bread twice which was given after the main meal was served and it was very hardNot what you would expect. My sons meatballs and macaroni were very good but my Penne ala Vodka was soaking in oil more than it was soaking in the sauce. I was very disappointed. I felt like I got the bottom of the pot.
The food was not great. I've never had to season food in an Italian food. They didn't have Italian dressing for the salad
We came on a Tuesday with truly excellent half price wine. Best lasagna ever... Loved the black olive dressing on the salad.
Great restaurant. Always look forward going there.
Tre Nonne never disappoints!! They have a variety of dishes on the menu, it's hard to pick just one. We each ordered something different and then tasted each other's dish. There was nothing that we didn't like. Both the pasta and the sauces were homemade. Several of us ordered dishes with shrimp and each dish had a generous amount of shrimp. We also ordered one of each dessert on the menu and they were absolutely delicious!! We will be back again soon!!
Food was good but took too long to be served, similar to past experiences here.
Best Italian food In NC. The owners, who are on site, hail originally from Brooklyn NYC, and the homemade pastas and food reflect the delicious Italian food of this area.
I expected better ambiance and better food. The chicken parm. was over fried/over cooked. The Shrimp risotto had very little shrimp and the risotto was too soupy. The restaurant itself is just tables and chairs with not a lot of space for your party, or even between tables. The service was sub-par. They did not have 3 of the advertised bottles of wine on the menu. Overall, I've had a lot better food at better prices at many different places in town.
Very nice meal and great service. An authentic Italian restaurant and experience. The lasagna was very good, meaty, and cheesy. Generous serving size.
Service was impeccable. The atmosphere was quaint and intimate, lights were dimmed at 7:00. The food more than met my expectations, and I cannot wait to go back. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and well-timed. This was for a celebration and I was not disappointed.
My girlfriend and I really love this restaurant. They are the only restaurant in town that does pasta al dente correctly. However when we went on Valentine’s Day they confused our order and gave her the al dente dish. Other than that their food is very good and the service is typically excellent. We like it because it’s quiet and usually not very crowded. And it does have a nice atmosphere with low lights and a little candle on the tables. Overall this is one of my favorite restaurants. They have homemade pasta and you can tell the difference!
This was my second time, but my hubby and daughter’s first. We love it! The food is fresh and authentic! It’s a nice quaint family atmosphere, we love that a family runs it. My hubby said it was the best chicken piccata he’s ever had. We will be back!
Chicken Palm. Was to oily for me
Waiter never asked my wife if he could get her any more hot tea or at least hot water for her tea. The strawberry crepe was terrible. Thought it came with strawberries not a drizzle of strawberry syrup. Wasn't expecting that chocolate
filling. Poor delivery of service and less than satisfied with the food
They didn't measure up to the advertising pitch. Also never saw one of the three grandmothers mentioned in ad.
Over multiple visits since Tre Nonne opened, I have noticed the restaurant becoming less focused on service or the customer experience. Our server, while a very nice young man, did not appear to be trained to do his job well. (For example, I watched him pick up food with his fingers and put it on a plate before serving it). The food is fine, and the bread is always delicious. Overall, good in many ways, but not knock-your-socks-off good.
Worst meal we’ve had in Winston-Salem - overly sauced, under cooked, and taste was off putting. Entire family was very disappointed.
My wife and I had our first visit here after having Tre Nonne recommended by several of our friends. Our meal was very good. I had spaghetti with Bolognese and my wife had spaghetti with meat balls. The fresh house made pasta was excellent and perfectly cooked.
Salads are included, which is a nice touch since the pasta prices are a little high. Only problem with the salads was that there was only 2 choices of dressing; black olive vinaigrette (which was thick and not like a salad dressing), and ranch. A nice light Italian vinaigrette would have been a more likely choice. When we asked for bread, instead of a nice italian bread, we got heavy chunks of baked pizza dough.
Service was very good, the ambiance could be improved with the addition of table cloths.
Bottom line is that food was very good with the small exceptions I mentioned above. We will come back and try a few more items on the menu.
During my first visit, I was really impressed. This time, not so much. I will definitely be returning, because we do enjoy the restaurant. My shrimp/scallop risotto had a great flavor, but the risotto contained too much liquid, making it more like a soup than rice. Also, the scallops would have been better had they been lightly seared prior to cooking. The shrimp was perfectly cooked. My martini was perfectly mixed and very enjoyable. My wife wanted something simple, so she ordered the cheese ravioli. Her sauce was entirely too tart for the dish to be enjoyable. Her glass of the house sauvignon blanc, was warm and not very enjoyable. The bread served with the meals was wonderful. I am glad one piece of bread per person was all that was served, because if we had received more, I would have eaten every crumb. I almost ordered more anyway. Our house salad and the Caesar salad were both very fresh and very good. Our service was perfect; could not have been better.
Very good. Saw it listed on FB as one of the restaurants to visit. Did not disappoint
First time visitor, very friendly staff. Food was delicious. Quaint place.
Staff very knowledgeable, personable and friendly. Entrees excellent.
Visited Tre Nonne for my 30th birthday, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. Italian cuisine is my favorite, and I think I've found my new favorite restaurant for this type of food.
This has to be one of the worst restaurants in Winston Salem. I would never go back and will tell everyone I know that this place was hot garbage.
1. Service couldn’t be slower and they had more than enough staff.
2. Bruschetta shouldn’t be extremely soggy and limp bread covered in melted cheese.
3. The chicken francese was swimming in so much sauce. And the chicken itself was pure rubber.
4. The Gnocchi was hard and not even close to the little pillows you expect. The sauce was basically just a ton of olive oil.
We are very easy to please but this place made Olive Garden taste like a piece of Italy.
Really good Italian food. Friendly service, comfortable atmosphere. Never disappoints!
Grandma‘s kitchen for sure. We loved it. Great service and the food was authentic Italian. My husband grew up in an Italian household and he says - this is as good as it gets. We will definitely come back.
I shared the eggplant rollatini with a friend. The dish was more about the ricotta cheese than the eggplant. The thick slice of mozarella on top was warm but not melted. My husband and friend each had the lasagna. It was also too heavy on the cheese, had big chunks of meat, rather than a meat sauce. The Caesar salad was comparable to something from a salad bar. Fine, nothing special. We ordered hot water with a lemon wedge and he charged us full price as though we ordered hot tea or coffee. Our waiter was brusque and impatient. We heard good things about the restaurant and may give it another try but not rushing back since there are two really good Italian restaurants nearby with homemade food from family recipes.
Took a long time for food to come out
Don’t be in a rush!
A great food. Slow kitchen. Still worth the wait.
In a non descript location but convenient to everywhere in Winston -Salem, this is very authentic Italian food. Great rolls! Serves wine, beer and mixed drinks.
An amazing dinner from start to finish. Our waiter was personable, helpful, and attentive. The food was so extremely fresh. All pasta is made in house and amazing.
The sausage egg rolls were amazing. My daughter who does not like sausage nor spinach loved them.
It is now my favorite Italian restaurant. The sauce is fresh and perfect. The bread before dinner was freshly baked and off the chart amazing. I could not have been more pleased with our experience.
I highly recommend.
The food was really pretty good. My only complaint was that the sauces used for my Chicken Marsala and my wife's shrimp scampi was a little thin which made it hard to keep the flavor on the meat and noodles. Calamari was excellent but again the marinara sauce was a little thin. Definitely will go again and suggest you try it.
Food was amazing. Service was fantastic.
Authentic immigrant Italian food just like my grandmothers and mother use to make. Reminds me of Italian restaurants in Brooklyn, NY!
