Superb, authentic southern Italian food in a small place on energetic Ludlow Street. Mediterranean salad, gnocchi, warm chocolate torte, and limoncello were all to die for.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants, food is always exceptional, service great, and a gem of a place on the Lower East Side.
Most of our meals were excellent. The homemade fettuccini was really tasty as was the meatballs. The smoked fusilli dish with substitute mozzarella was loved by my son and the salmon was very good, but the sides of cauliflower and gnocchi were flooded with butter. Overall high marks but very tough to move around and table behind us was too close so it made it a bit uncomfortable. I would definitely go back if in the area.
Our waiter was very nice, and helpful, and efficient, and overall the staff was welcoming. The place is cozy. The food was pretty good, but the chef that night was a little heavy on the salt. One of us had an al forno dish and the other a pasta and greens dish, and they were both salty, which hid a lot of the other flavors in the food.
I will go back there again.
Came here for dinner with old friends for a long overdue catch up. As always, great good, attentive service, and one of the few real “values” left in the area.
Amazing food, great service. Will definitely be returning
Great experience and service
I've been coming to The for years it's my favorite hidden gem. I recommend it to everyone who wants authentic Italian.
Incredible food, ambiance and service!
Good but pasta was a bit too salty for my liking
The food and the atmosphere of Tre are incredible. Perfect for a romantic date!
I loved the arancini and wine
Great all around, except I thought the wine prices were rather steep! The least expensive, for a glass that was only partially filled, was $14. Yikes!!
My mom and I went for a pre-birthday dinner before she left the city. We looked for a neighborhood spot that was quaint, well reviewed and Italian 🍝 (my fave). Tre had great ratings, but the pictures we saw online were iffy. I was delighted when we walked in. I love the ambiance... from the lighting to the music. I took a pic to represent the vibe better than what I’d previously seen. Food is delicious, as well as the wine selection! If you’re not a wine drinker, they have a full bar as well. Overall, great spot. I recommend going with 4 or less people — Aka date night, a special occasion or catching up with a small group of friends.
One of my favorite spots in NYC!
Francisco was wonderful he and another waited manned 2 large groups and the bar with no sweat!
Cosy space and a good menu. Service was lacking, especially since there were 3 waiters and 3 tables occupied. Good starters but the pasta was mediocre.
The food was great and reasonably priced. Staff was super nice/ attentive. I would go back.
Wanted to love this tiny place. Altho the service was good the wait staff seemed uninterested and detached. The spaghetti pomodoro was very salty as others have mentioned, and the pasta tough. Sauce was the best part. Would not go again.
The appetizers were okay, not bad. The pasta was absolutely terrible. And this is an italian place! I really wanted to like it, because the atmosphere was great and the service pretty good. But the fresh pasta was undercooked (seriously don't know how you do that) and the sauce on both of our pastas was awful - too sweet and weird texture. Would never recommend this place to anyone unless you were just going for drinks and some basic apps.
Excellent Italian food. Friendly, professional service. Fun scene.
Overall a mixed bag -- great pasta, but my parpadelle lamb ragout tasted was very much dominated by what tasted like canned tomato sauce. Undifferentiated and not complex. On the other hand, my wife's meat ragout with bucatini was fabulous. The all-Italian wine list is interesting as well. Would definitely go back!
We arrived for an early dinner before a show at the nearby Rockwood Music Hall. Food was excellent (although a little salty).
Tre is the gem of the Lower East Side, if not all of Manhattan! The food is nothing short of fabulous, fresh and unique and always great!
This place is so cute and the food was amazing. I highly recommend this for a quiet or romantic dinner.
Birthday dinner for me. Outstanding all around. Great rustic Italian. Just the five I wanted. Cozy. Quaint
Everything was incredibly salty to the point where we didn’t even eat some of the dishes.
The spaghetti was so so good
Great experience overall! Came for bottomless brunch and they did not skimp on the mimosas. Great food, atmosphere and value.
Excellent flavors. Sophisticated tastes in a low key hip atmosphere.
The food and service are excellent! Their dessert menu was a little boring, but the main meal was really, really good. I would definitely go back when in this part of Manhattan
We had a fun time for bottomless brunch but the food was extremely salty. We had a table of 6 and all ordered different dishes that were all overly salty. No one finished their meal.
Amazing dining experience. The food is very flavorful and would recommend any item on the menu.
Cool place good vibes nice service food is good loved it
Service subpar and food subpar. Disappointing
Unfortunately yes, it says is an Italian Trattoria, but we’re far from the italian real food.
I had a Chicken Milanese... it was flooded of garlic... I was lucky o didn’t have to go out later or I could have killer somebody simply saying “HI”.
The place is very nice and cool, service was good.
Please put an Italian in the kitchen
This restaurant had great food! Very delicious and tasty. The only problem I had was the table we were sat at was right under the AC, and it kept dripping on me throughout the entire meal.
Tre is an amazing spot for a bottomless brunch. Reasonable prices and the food was delicious! Loved the quaint, low-key vibe. Service was great, fun location.
Great little spot on a busy street that was a nice little reprieve.
