   It is an exceptional restaurant, offering a Michelin-star experience. I travel extensively and dine in outstanding restaurants all over the world, and I was frankly shocked when I had heard that Michelin had finally arrived in Beijing, but TRB Hutong had not been awarded. In any event, the food and wine, the ambience and the service will all make it for a very special evening in one of the most beautiful and spectacular settings in the world.

   A great place to eat in a beautiful location. It is very strange to me that TRB did not receive a Michelin Star in the latest review. I have been both to TRB Forbidden City and TRB Huton and both places did I get by far the best meal and restaurant experience that I have gotten in Beijing. Both sites delivered better food and better atmosphere than what I experienced at e.g. the George or Kings Joy. We are certainly coming back

   Wonderful visiting Chef from Belgium. Food was amazing, service spectacular and view of Forbidden City to die for. Will be back! Service went above and beyond to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary- we are so appreciative. Highly recommend

   Fantastic food, impeccable service, beautiful view and ambiance. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at this lovely restaurant located on the east side moat around the Forbidden City, steps from the East Gate. The mostly French menu has both prix-fixe and a’la carte options. I enjoyed the 5-course menu with pairings and my spouse chose four individual dishes. There were a couple complimentary tasting courses, and our head waiter, Valeria, filled in my spouse’s servings with an additional course at no charge to match my servings. The service was friendly and professional. Don’t miss this place if you wish to enjoy a top notch continental meal in the heart of Beijing.

    Waited a long time for our (ordered) food to arrive while being overwhelmed with free extra food and wine. By the time, the course menu was finally served, it was very late and we had lost our appetite. Less is sometimes more! Less freebies, but a better timed pace of courses would be an improvement.

    We went to TRB to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation. We had a window table with a wonderful view of the Forbidden City behind us. The service was excellent. Our daughter ordered a 5 course dinner while the rest of the family ordered 4 course dinners. So we wouldn't feel left out they brought us complimentary sea urchin, so thoughtful. Our favorites were the scallops, lobster, wagyu beef and chocolate dessert. Truly one of the best dinners of our lives.

    TRB Forbidden City Beijing is truly a 5 stars venue. Perhaps due to no high expectation, much surprising me was the food. From food quality to presentation and taste, I will rate it a 5 stars. Definitely will like to return and try their dinner next time when I visit Beijing. Besides its location (next to Forbidden City therefore dining view of the historical monument), the internal deco is contemporary with chic touch which makes you comfortably want to stay more a while. The service, again, another applause. Not only individual but the whole team, as we were served by different attendants, are helpful and attentive. Uniform, clean cut, polite, well spoken manner and problem solving attitude; aim to serve you best during the time you're there! Special thanks to Ricado, Sharon and Katarina (I hope I didn't misspell their names), especially Katarina who complimented us with extra to-go pack of bread/muffin when I asked to pack them as they tasted yummy and w/o wasting the food (I had them this morning and they are still yummy yummy!) Also special thanks to Ricado, the manager I believe, in decisively offered a compensation on cost of umbrella that a diner took away to my hotel upon charges required. Ricado paid via WeChat Pay directly to the hotel on behalf without having the hotel bothering my family on the issue. I feel lucky to the owner of TRB to have such responsive and decisive employees.. No wonder TRB is always on the top choice of diners. Good Job and keep on! Oh, finally, TRB carries a book of wine list except a bit expensive... well, perhaps I shouldn't compare it with HK standard :)

    We had an absolutely fabulous meal at TRB the staff were so attentive and friendly, the food out of this world in terms of taste and presentation and the restaurant perfect. This was our first visit to China and we were celebrating our 40th wedding Anniversary and couldn’t have had a better experience. PS When you arrive there are no signs except for a wall of bamboo to the left of which are the steps up to the entrance - it really is a hidden gem!

    Impressive dining experience. The service was superb and the food was elegant and delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Icelandic cod in a pumpkin pomegranate sauce and the foie gras was orgasmic. But this restaurant succeeds on its superb service and attention to detail.     From start to finish the experience was unbelievable. From when we arrived and greeted the staff were exceptional and welcoming. I was travelling with my partner in Asia for over 2 weeks and reading other reviews already had high expectations. We weren't disappointed. We had the mix and match menu where we choose 4 different courses but in between were pleasantly surprised with treat after treat of beautifully prepared and delicious palate cleanser, or intermezzo - just unexpected and added so much to the whole experience. The wine, the pumpkin soup, cod with coconut and pomegranate. All just absolutely amazing. The whole experience was one of the highlights of our trip and I would tell anyone visiting Beijing to visit and experience this themselves. Thank you to the whole team for making us feel so welcome and inviting us to experience such a great evening.

    Classic french restaurant. Amazing hospitality, I would give 6 stars for the service if I could! Do dinner just before sunset to enjoy the view of the eastern gate of the forbidden city and watch the sun set behind it. Order the salmon gravlax.

    This restaurant was incredible! Me and my two friends had such an amazing time. One of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to. We’re just visiting China and the staff treated us like family. The food was SO good and the service was to die for. I hope to go again if I have the chance! Definitely recommend! Beautiful view on the second floor of the river as well!

    This is the most beautiful and evening place in Beijing hands down! Jerry wei(manager of TRB) recommended me to go here and got me in touch with manager Ricardo. He arranged a window seat for me once I arrrived there early, I really felt like a queen overseeing the canal and the forbidden city! Service is excellent and it comes with many small goodies.
