Traymore Restaurant & Gin Bar Ratings and Reviews
We changed upon Traymore as we were looking on line for a restaurant. The restaurant would not be found just walking by as it is set inside hotel. We had wanted to sit outside but there was no availability so we ate inside, where were sole patrons. My son had a flight of Gin and tonic. That was very interesting and we learned a lot. Each
Of the 4 of us had a different meal. Each was wonderful , especially the sauces. We would highly recommend the restaurant.
Interesting restaurant that is located on the first floor of residential building off Collins Avenue. Very light crowd for a Friday night. Food was tasty and prepared as expected. Service was okay and could have been better. Overall good value but a little pricey for the service.
Service and food was garbage. We had bottomless mimosas and had to beg for each one. Food was less than average. If you want to be ignored and sit in an empty restaurant this is the place to go. The only person who helped us wasLazaro. He wasn't our waiter but noticed how we were being ignored. We thank him for the few drinks we had. I would not recommend.
Odd having a high end restaurant smack in the middle of a hotel lobby. The atmosphere is "streamlined". Some white tablecloths would be worth the investment. The food was good but not extraordinary. The service was pretty slow. Overall the establishment seemed disorganized as if it was about to open for business. I would not go back.
The food was excellent. We have a 7 services for the New Year and the service was perfect. The employees were so great and sweet. Very beautiful restaurant, but it was very expensive, so be prepared. I recommand this restaurant for special occasion! They also have a valet parking so don't need to worry about finding a parking place.
I had a very interesting experience at the Traymore recently. I had read an article dated March, 2015 about the amazing Jazz Brunch at the Traymore. The article spoke of $20.00 bottomless mimosas, gin punch, etc , as well as a live jazz band that played throughout the day. Say no more - Booked!
Cut to our visit at the Traymore - we walk in and are greeted warmly by the hostess and ushered to our table - best table in the house - the only issue: we were the ONLY table in the house. While I could not have a better companion for this type of situation (my sister) - it was extremely awkward. Where so many reviews focus on the lack of attention provided in a restaurant setting - I am here to state the other side of it: we received entirely too much attention from the staff, which is to be expected I suppose when you're the only table in the house.
Situation: The Haunting of the Thick Oyster - while some may prefer a thick cut oyster, I prefer a more average sized one. These oysters were absolute monsters, and we couldn't get through all 6 we'd ordered, so I flipped 2 on the ice tray. Minutes later the manager came over asking us why we didn't finish our oysters, and apologized if his assistant took them away too soon. We assured him it was okay and that we didn't need replacement oysters (odd that our plates were being examined upon pick up). Next, our personal mixologist came over apologizing for our disposed oysters and offered us a complimentary drink, stating "lose 2 oysters, gain 2 cocktails" - a saying I'd never heard before, but one I welcomed warmly.
Sufficed to say, I doubt I'll be back in a hurry - unless they start that Jazz brunch I read about, and include the gin punch in their bottomless brunch cocktails (Actual offering: $25.00/bottomless mimosas only). The ambiance was gorgeous - very art deco, and the service was wonderful, but eating entirely alone in what we expected to be a boisterous place was not the scene for me.
Much like the hotel itself Traymore restaurant is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Miami Beach. The beautiful and calming bar is matched by the elegant dinning room. My party opted to sit on the terrace where we enjoyed impeccable service along with a slight ocean breeze. The menu is limited however in my opinion that is due to the freshness of each item. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and we opted to share one fantastic dessert. Highly recommend this off the road restaurant.
Everything was just lovely here - from the attentive service to the beautiful food and drinks. It was very fun to sit on the bike and walking path and watch the world jog/bike/skateboard by as we enjoyed an elegant meal, largely made up of meticulously prepared seafood from oysters to a whole fresh snapper, which, our server joked, had been slapping the chef in the face but a few minutes prior to arriving on our table.
Food is good but not exceptional - overpriced. Staff was pleasant but service slow. Forgot our son's (non-alcoholic) drink and we had to wait for an entree. Alcoholic beverage quite expensive. Atmosphere "nice" since it is outdoors but there is no view - only the back side of beach cabanas. Overall, overrated.
