I had heard good things about Travelle, but was overall disappointed in my experience there. The waiter seemed very uncertain and shy/quiet, and very rarely came to check on us. The burrata was exceptionally good, as well as the pork belly, but I sent my oysters back, and the beet stack was very odd - looked like an old layer cake. It wasn't bad, but for the price and location, I definitely expected a lot more.
Great breakfast/brunch in a calm setting. Recommend the Benedict’s and French typist!
Beautiful restaurant in a great location. Wonderful meal with extra wonderful service. The restaurant has a great kids menu and makes kids feel very welcome. Alex took excellent care of us and was so great with my children!
Been to Travelle several times in the past few years and have never failed to have anything other than a top-notch experience. For my money, this is the best restaurant in Chicago.
We stayed at the Langham over Labor Day Weekend, but as we stayed on the club floor we did not experience Travelle. As we will no longer go to Petterino's prior to our Goodman plays, we decided to dine here. We started the evening in the lounge with the wonderful city and river views. The cocktail menu was amazing and the servers helped us with selections that we thoroughly enjoyed.
We then dined in the restaurant. I wish the views there were as great as the lounge and decor seemed a little casual for the food and prices. Our waiter, Caesar, and other staff were wonderful and added to the experience. Since we ordered the red snapper for two, he brought us the octopus appetizer as he thought we would enjoy it while waiting for the fish to be prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience. We will definitely return.
Amazing meal once again. The service is the best. We love this restaurant.
The food was fresh and very tasty; full of flavor. The service was quick, friendly but not overwhelming. The ambience was big-city, but not noisy.
Great dining experience! The food was good. Service was excellent. The waiter was great, attentive and well informed. I definitely will keep coming back because when you enjoy a wonderful dining experience, you look forward to do it again. I will recommend it to friends, colleagues anytime.
Always good service and exceptional food. Frankly one of the better spots in the city. Always coming back!!
Food was excellent. Service, while generally fine, had some hiccups. Had to find our waiter because everyone needed drink refills. Not exactly great at this level of restaurant.
Overpriced for the quality of food. Brunch buffet had no variety. Reminded me of a complimentary breakfast buffet in a two star motel.
Honestly was just pleased with everything they had to offer! Paid 72$ for two meals and one dessert plus a 27$ tip and the food was well worth it. TAKE YOUR GIRL HERE!!!
We ate early diner before the theater. Had a special Charlie Trotter menu item of beef tenderloin with romesco reduction and shishito peppers that was amazing. First course of grilled prawns which was also incredible. Truly one of the best meals I've had in sometime.
Superbly prepared dishes, inventive recipes, contemporary but refined atmosphere. Service was especially polished, observant and intuitive. This place is a gem.
Just ok salad but guests liked their sandwiches
Pretty sure the server was lost half the time. Waited for 15 minutes in a restaurant that had more servers than customers.
Food was excellent and enjoyable.
Then waited another 10 minutes to be able to pay for the meal.
That was annoying.
I love this place. The ambience, location, food and people are great. I have not once been disappointed with any of the above. The last time I visited was for a farewell dinner for a friend and they gave us some complimentary champagne just because she was leaving. Love such warm places and people!
Ate there for lunch three times because weather was terrible. Bad service every time.
Excellent Wabash express lunch. The branzino was wonderful and accompanied by lovel vegetables including morel mushrooms!
We were celebrating a coworker’s new position at another company. Our waiter acknowledged that the moment we sat down and treated us phenomenally the entire lunch. Will definitely return.
Food was excellent and perfect place for a business luncheon. My only complaint was toward the end of the meal our server went rouge and was nowhere to be found -- we sat there patiently waiting for the check and probably waited an extra 20 minutes for her to bring it over.
Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. I was downtown for a "staycation" and have been to Travelle before. It's always worth the stop!
There two wait staff but they both seemed inexperienced. Our bottle of wine was accidentally shared w another table. The menus were left on the table for half of the meal. Items would arrive before other had been cleared. The food was delicious.
Ate breakfast twice. Good menu choices, great service, food was prepared well and flavorful. Impressed with restaurant cleanliness. Nice leisurely way to start the day. Would definitely eat there again if we return to Chicago.
Breakfast food deliciously prepared; simple but flavorful. Cordial service; however, a bit inattentive.
I celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a girls weekend in Chicago with our last stop at Travelle. Our server was very good and so were the mimosas we had with breakfast.
I made reservations for a bachelorette dinner. Service was extremely slow and almost unattentive for the first hour. Ordering drinks took way too long. We had to corner the busboy to get our waiter to order our drinks. And they took too long to arrive. The food came out quickly once ordered. Food was great, no complaints there. It was just a very slow start to our dinner. I would have understood if the restaurant was busy, but it seemed about half full, so I don't understand.
This is my second visit, and the first one went great. So in general, I'd still recommend it.
It seemed that the menu was changing to seasonal items but it was not updated on the menu.
Above average food for a higher end restaurant hotel for dinner. Very noisy, which limited our ability to converse during our business meeting. Indeed, the noise level in the adjacent bar was not just energetic, but loud. More attention should be paid to acoustics, especially in such a higher end hotel.
Loved everything about this restaurant. Fabulous.
My wife and I had an incredible time here. Every course was delectable, and the service was amazing. Travelle made her birthday truly a special experience.
The service was excellent. The food was good, but I felt the prices were a tad high for the portion sizes.
Server Cesar was exceptional! He was one of the most efficient, personable, wait staff persons we've ever encountered.
Enjoyed our evening. Food was fantastic. Loved the empanadas!
wonderful food and service to match.
the food was great. The quiet dining room was wonderful for us. the service was not quite up to snuff in my opinion. Two guests arrived early and already had their wine. When the rest of us were seated, no one came over to make sure the rest of us had wine ordered. We then ordered a bottle of white and there was no interaction from the service staff about who wanted it or not. Then when we were ready to order our meal, we had to flag down a waiter to ask for specials and place our orders. And the restaurant was not at all full at that point. Thanks for your attention.
We had the best meal and were treated so well. What a beautiful, elegant yet not pretentious space. The server Mauritzio was helpful and accommodating. Chef Jeff Vucko came and checked on us and offered us a taste of their fabulous budino. We had the artichoke starter, skate wing, risotto and mashed potatoes. All was executed perfectly!! Definitely stop in the beautiful lounge for a drink and view of the river and skyline. Highly recommend!! Great date spot!
It was just okay
