Trattoria Zooma Ratings and Reviews
We went there because we were in Providence for an evening show. Decided on doing lunch up right. The homemade pasta and available parking were the hooks that made us choose Zooma. Clearly the right choice! Their $15.95 three course lunch special was unexpected - so we took advantage of it. The selection of items was varied and enticing. We each opted for one of the pasta entrees and chose the homemade pasta for an additional $2. From salad to pasta to gelato - it was delicious! The drinks were good, too. Now we are planning to come to Providence again soon - just for Zooma.
Enjoyed the bustling atmosphere and the food was fairly good. I had the veal, which was a little tough, but my mozzarella appetizer was delicious as was my cocktail. The restaurant was a bit noisy, so hard to hear conversation. Valet situation a little confusing, but worked out. Would definitely give it a second try.
We took my 101 year old father out for an early dinner not for any special occasion. Restaurant is accessible. I would highly recommend the handmade pasta. Service was very good-professional and pleasant and not too intrusive. Music was a little loud but we didn’t bother to ask them to turn it down.
Three of us for Sunday Lunch... Service was good, cocktails were tasty, food was less than average. Between the three of us we ordered 2 orders of black pasta and shrimp and 1 order of Cavatelli -Sausage-Rabe. The black pasta and shrimp were swimming in oil and the Cavatelli-Sausage-Rabe was chewy, salty, and dry. Needless to say, extremely disappointed in the food. Too many other options in the neighborhood to ever go back...
The service needs to improve It was my third time there, first thru open table.
I understand busy but the initial wait for a server to take a drink order was more than normal.
When the server asked about dessert, we gave our order but it took so long that we cancelled and asked for the check. They really need a dining room manager because it was busy and they looked short staffed I would return though because of the food
Everyone loved their meal, the cocktails were delicious, and we liked the atmosphere. The service was definitely not what I would hope for (waited 30 minutes for a drink, our waiter did not check to see how our meal was or if we needed more drinks for over an hour). However, because the food was great, we will go again to see if it was just an “off night” regarding the service issue.
The pizza, which was more like a calzone, had no taste and was priced at $23.
The carbonara pasta still had raw egg whites, which was totally disgusting and not appetizing.
One of the beverages was 1/2 empty upon receiving it and was mostly ice.
The waiter was hard to come by and the service wasn’t great.
Made the reservation through the OpenTable app it asked if I wanted a high top or table I selected table. Apparently that did not get through to the restaurant. We ended up in a high top and noisy corner of the bar. The table so small I couldn’t even accommodate the food plates. Will not go back again.
I love the "house made" pastas a Trattoria Zooma. The night I was there with a friend it was a little odd that they were out of Aperol and so couldn't make an Aperol Spritz. Kind of off-kilter for an Italian restaurant (and that this is now such a popular drink). But the food was as good as always.
Authentic Italian Food! My husband and I took our son and his girlfriend who were visiting from out of state. We wanted them to get a good authentic Italian meal while on Federal Hill. Trattoria did just that. The gnocchi was so light it melted in your mouth. The chicken parmesan and veal parmesan were amazing. The server was very attentive to top off our pleasant evening. This restaurant would be great for many occasions. Check it out, you will not be disappointed.
We've found that restaurants come and go on Providence' Federal Hill and Trattoria Zooma only seems to get better anytime we drive to Providence to meet friends for lunch. As we haven't dined there for dinner, I can't comment on that. However, their lunch scene is vibrant, service is excellent as is their food. We love their prix-fixe 3 course lunch menu for $15 and change, which gives quite a few good choices. The portions are filling, but not overwhelming. There is choice of sparkling or still water in a tall bottle on the table to re-fill glasses by guests or staff. We enjoyed it and will return!
We both had great meals. I remembered the squid ink pasta dish from a couple of years ago and it did not disappoint and was a great as I remembered it. Wine choices were great and we love the flight option. My husband had the Gnocchi and it and the tomato sauce we great. Great fresh pasta!
Got the pizza special and it was so unbelievably good! Such a fun girls night, everyone loved the interior with the purple and blue colors. Great service too, our waiter really knew what he was talking about with the menu. 10/10 everyone needs to come here!
Restaurant week menu had many delicious options. I enjoyed the swordfish with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Preceded by mixed salad with light lemon dressing. Gelato for dessert. My companions loved their meals too. Excellent wine list and service. Friendly ambiance.
The dinner's were served room temperature, the bolanese was not good at all. The steak special was mediocre at best. The waiter was unattentive. We had to ask another waiter for the drinks we were waiting for. It was a disappointing experience overall. When the waiter forgot the desert spoons he dropped them on the table as he walked by. We were surprised at the low quality of the food preparation.
We realized that all of our kids would be home for dinner, not working or out with their friends, so we decided to celebrate.
Dinner was perfect. We are family style w 3 apps, 2 pastas and 3 mains.
The service was perfect, attentive but not overbearing or rushed.
