Great little restaurant with great food. The only complaint I have is the radio station they were using kept going in and out every 5 to 10 seconds. Was annoying. However service was excellent and food was excellent. Don't let that little annoyance keep you from attending this restaurant.
Primo pasta dishes. Everything was homemade and so fresh. Service was attentive but never rushed. The prices were a very good value.
A nice Italian restaurant with excellent entree choices and exceptional service. The owner personnaly makes sure all is going well with your dinner.
Warm , inviting atmosphere, wonderful food and great service by Gino.
Excellent food, and service
Filet Mignon and Sea Bass were exceptional.
Wonderful, personal, felt like home!!
Awesome people. Food and wine worth the price! Chef friendly
Met the owner as we came in. He made us feel at home. Suggested a great wine. I had a new friend!
Don’t be fooled by the non-descript location in a mall. The food is wonderful and the Owner could be … the best Host in SoCal. When we’re back in the area, we will definitely enjoy it again.
The owner is so nice! He definitely loves his restaurant and it shows! All of our food was great! Wine selection is great as-well. The only pit fall was the lack of gluten free food on the menu for my girlfriends food allergy. Overall had a good time.
HORRIBLE!!! I would never recommend this place nor would I EVER go back!! 6 out of 7 main dishes that were ordered had soooooooo much salt that they were inedible. We all left most of our dishes!
It wasn't busy for an Easter Sunday lunch. There were 3 wait staff and probably 6 group of people who were already seated, but still took us a while to get greeted and seated. Food and wine were good and ambiance is ok.
Birthday. Everything was great. This is the best Italian restaurant around. Fresh and quality ingredients. Handmade pastas are fantastic.
Good italian place in a strip mall. Hard to find for me...but that has to do with the strip mall location more than anything else. Food was good, pasta was fresh...wine selection by the glass was comprehensive. Service was prompt until the end when it took nearly 30 minutes to get our check. Have to say, that experience took the whole experience down a a few notches. Easy to fix...bring me a couple of desserts or a glass of wine on the house and I'll let it slide...let me sit there twiddling my thumbs and you'll probably lose me as a customer for life.
Great local Italian eatery service is really really good food was really really good it was a very enjoyable experience for our family we would go back again the gelato was absolutely awesome
Place was too crowded. Food was too hot burned my tongue. Food was also very salty . Service was good . They moved us to a table which wasn’t as cramped.
Stevie the server was excellent! Our meatballs were incredibly dry, everyone tasted and thought they were inedible. Our guest had the children’s spaghetti and did not care for it. I had prawns dish and it was just ok. Overall disappointing.
Absolutely authentic cuisine. Fresh pastas, excellent salads and great wine. Service was amazing. Very unpretentious place with exquisite food. Don’t miss this hidden gem!
The food was beyond delicious! The chef was born and raised in Italy and it shows in his amazing cooking. Our waiter was amazing and although the place was packed, we got our food in a timely manner. Hands down best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in the states! Bravo Trattoria Toscana!
We only had salads but they were very good. This place was a little hard to find. Once found we made our way inside. Very quaint and clean. Service was very good. Lunch specoand regular food was very pricy. Our bill for 2 very nice salads was $28.00. Other dishes such as lasagna and spaghetti was over $20.00 per plate.
Highly recommend! Excellent Porcini Mushrooms . . .
Great evening. My wife’s birthday celebration.
Rack of lamb was the best ever.
Superb wine selection.
Our group loved this restaurant. The service and the food were excellent. Friends who had recently been to Italy said this was as good as any food they had there. One critique is that the live music was too loud. Even though we were in the second room, it was very hard to have a conversation.
Absolutely the best Italian food in southern California! You cannot go wrong with this place!
It’s rare to find a restaurant that has everything right. This one does!
This restaurant is a classic. It’s family operated, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the food is fantastic. Everything we ordered was exceptional. Highly recommend!!
The setting is spartan-- in a strip mall with deli style tables. Definitely short on ambiance which doesn't match pricing points. At $80+ for two (one drink no desserts) it wasn't a great deal.
We began with a suggested glass of Montepulciano, good but overpriced at $13 a glass, and Perone beer. Minestrone at $5 was very flavorful but Caesar salad a total miss-- dressing oddly not traditional anchovy rich at $9 and where are rich green romaine leaves?
Pappardelle in mushroom cream sauce was flavorful but had runny consistency-- although the pasta was sooo fresh.
The chicken Parmesan was too heavily breaded but almost no sauce, also pricey at $22.
It is casual, family restaurant that doesn't really feel like date night.
Great food and service
The food was wonderful, especially the bread! Service was good, a bit slow because of the crowd but great nonetheless. Love the authentic vibe and the attention to detail. We had the filet mignon and the chicken parmigiana-both very delicious! We had no leftovers and even enjoyed cannolis for dessert. Can’t wait to go back!
We were visiting Temecula for the weekend and came across this restaurant. The food was phenomenal and had a great atmosphere. There was a wait when we arrived so the owner sat us at the bar with a complimentary glass of wine. Highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Italian.
Came here for the Valentine’s dinner which we had bought tickets ahead of time for a pre fixed menu. This was our first time here, since we just recently moved to the area from San Diego. The restaurant is in a strip mall and appears quite small when you first walk in but does have more seating towards the back of the restaurant. We were asked if we made reservations, which we did, but were ignored once a large party came in after us. They finally seated us after the large party, and recommended a good wine but were pushing for us to buy a bottle. It seemed like once we said no thanks to the bottle of wine, that we were ignored after that. The food took about 2 hours and was good. You could tell that the pasta was freshly made and meat tasted great and cooked well. Portions were small. The service was lacking maybe because they were so busy and not enough staff for a special occasion night or not sure if we were worth their time since we didn’t order more. When it came time to serve dessert, they said they no longer had anymore of what we had chosen off the pre fixed menu. They did offer replacement desserts which turned out to be good. Overall, the food was good but service could be better, and they added gratuity automatically to our bill. For the price, not worth what we paid. We won’t be coming back.
There was one waiter covering an entire room of about 25 couples. Initially service was fair as we had an earlier reservation, however, as the room filled up, the single waiter was overwhelmed. Our dinner took over 2 hours to complete. A lot of that time was spent waiting on the next course and attention from the waiter (good thing I enjoy spending long periods of time with my wife).
The cost of the event was misleading as I assumed everything was covered in the $140 cost, excluding the bottle of wine we ordered. The final bill was over $240 dollars!! (additional $60 for the bottle of wine and the other $40 was a billed tip). Lucky for the waiter the tip was automatically placed in the bill because the service certainly did not warrant it. Keep in mind however, the establishment set-up the waiter for failure - who the heck runs only one waiter for 25 tables ??
The dinning room was a wide open space with as many two top tables it could possibly cram in there. The ambiance was not romantic but hectic and herd-like. My wife and I would have preferred a booth or a couple of half walls between the tables or at the very least, more space between the tables.
I regret having to write such a horrible review (I typically do not indulge in the negative), however, had I read a review like this, it would have at least given me the opportunity to choose a different venue. For $240 dollars I expect a much better experience and we simply did not get our monies worth here at Trattoria Toscana in Temecula. This was our first and last visit to this restaurant.
To end on a positive note - the main course was very good. I will end here, if I expand any further on the meal this will not end positive.
Sorry for less than a positive review...
Best Italian Food in Temecula with outstanding Customer Service.
Amazing meal, great friendly personal service. Will be back soon.
Great service by the owner.
As in previous visits, great food. Have never been disappointed.
The owner is the chef and the main server. Based on what you indicate you like, he may make an alternative but related suggestion. For example, we wanted the calamari and he suggested the octopus carpaccio. We took his suggest and were very glad we did. Most of the items are similarly priced so his suggestions are not made to bump up the bill.
We went on a Saturday night. It was busy but the food was well worth the wait. We went back on Sunday and Monday and would have had lunch on Tuesday but they are closed. Each night we have very different items so it fell like we were at three different restaurants.
You can tell that the place has a strong base of regular customers.
Superb "hole in the wall" Italian restaurant. Ingredients are fresh, home made, authentic and delicious. We liked this restaurant so much that we returned the following evening for another round. Italian wines are affordable and good. Bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar are perfect starters. First night was caesar salad (okay) and lasagne (so tasty); second night was spinach salad (fabulous), Chilean sea bass (cooked to perfection) and Rigatoni (best I've every had). Finished off with superb panacotta and coffee. If I lived in Temecula I would be a regular here.
Once we found the place, we had a great meal. We each had one of the specials, me Chilean sea bass with grilled veggies, my hubby ossco bucco with mushroom risotto. For out of towners, it may be difficult to find even with GPS but keep on looking (or phone for more directions) and you will be rewarded.
