Fine wine and food.
Food was good, service very nice. The place was comfortable, and local. You could become regulars here...
Celebrating our wedding anniversary my Wife loved the only Riesling bottle available and was super happy with her build a pasta. We ordered similar pastas however mine came out much colder than hers. I'm sure the server would of fixed this had I said something. The low lighting is great for anniversaries where you want to just smile and laugh with each other.
My family has a march madness tourney. Winner gets to pick where we go out to eat. My daughter won and picked this restaurant because the pictures online look fantastic. She was concerned because this is expensive for 6 people, but we don’t go out like this very often so let’s make it a good one
I arrived after the 1st half and when I saw where they were seated and my immediate comment was “disappointing” to the host - little did I know that I was forecasting the night at this place.
There is no way that placing a table in the center of a egress is up to code. 1 foot between two tables on on side and 2 feet on the other. Chairs were along the walkway. Mind you, at either end of this walkway are exits. They had placed a large table in the center of the walkway right next to the host and that is where they sat us. I had people, including the host brush me. The host also had a conversation right behind us so wait staff had to squeeze between us and the host.
According to my daughter, the host (owner?) kept making comments to people at the bar and pointing my direction. The wait staff were friendly
Reservations at 7, ordered by 7:20 and didn’t get food until 8:10. We didn’t want to wait another hour for dessert so we went to Graeters instead
Quality of food
Good, but not enough for the cost. I had the spinach smoked chicken raviolli. The presentation of it was not good but the sauce was. The alfredo and lasagna were average, not expected for the price
They had the placed packed. Filling walkways with tables made me wonder if they were going to hot bunk our table. So loud that I could not hear people at my table
Far too expensive to walk away disappointed. To top it off they force a gratuity of 20%
I didn’t want to create that situation for friends that had not been out with me so I kept it quiet.
This place is not worth it. Crowded, loud, slow, average food, walmart-esque walkways. Don’t go. I won’t
Trattoria Roma is a longtime favorite, often for special occasions -- though it's a great place for a regular old date night. I find that the portion sizes are worth the entrée prices; there's usually enough to take home. Service ranges from attentive to a bit relaxed, but that's absolutely fine in my book: it's not a place where I want to hurry. The menu showcases good variety without overwhelming. And the rich chocolate pot de crème is perhaps my favorite dessert in town.
Always good. The newly added smoked chicken ravioli was delicious.
we had a reservation but weren't seated until 30 minutes after our reserved time. Service was ok but we asked for bread before our meal (which one would think would be an automatic, especially at an Italian restaurant) and we got exactly the number of pieces of bread as were in our party...and they were tiny. We had to ask for more. The pasta in 2 of our meals was cold, not even room temperature and the chicken Parmesan was mediocre at best, even though our server recommended it - over cooked on the outside but cold. Huge disappointment. Will never go back nor recommend.
Great little restaurant with awesome food and service
Great server, really went out of the way to look after us, and especially my 91 yr old mother.
Food very good, music could have been turned down a little though.
Tremendous meal. My wife had chicken stuffed with delicious risotto. I went with lobster ravioli in a pesto sauce. Salads were great, as was chocolate torte/vanilla sorbet for desert. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful restaurant. Very accommodating!! Great food. Great choices for daily specials. Meatballs were matter from Heaven!!!
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Took advantage of Dine Originals week at the restaurant-great value on the menu and a nice moderately priced wine list.
We love coming to Trattoria Roma! It is a gem, a little slice of Italian heaven in the heart of Grandview. We always receive a warm welcome and courteous and prompt service and always the most delicious, creative cuisine. We like to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries here...so glad we and Trattoria Roma are keeping it going!
We decided to try this restaurant during Dine Originals week. The food was incredible but the waitress forgot several requests and served all of us at different times. The restaurant was very busy, so we certainly understood. We will definitely be back!
Excellent meal, great service, friendly atmosphere, great value! Five stars, I highly recommend.
The service was great. They really want you to be pleased and come back again. The pasta was delicious!
We were an older family group of 4 for dinner on Tuesday evening. We were greeted immediately upon arriving and seated promptly. Our drink orders were taken and we ordered
bruschetta for sharing. We found that it was cooked to our taste: the focaccia was toasted to a slight char (without being burnt) and the had the right amount of top;ping. I had the "Create your own pasta bowl" with Rigatoni, Arrabbiata sauce, and Sausage. I capitalized each item because I felt that they all were perfect in every way. Two others had parmesan chicken but with a slight variation. One had marinara sauce on both the chicken and the pasta while the other had marinara on the chicken and Alfredo sauce on the fettuccini. The fourth person had the pasta bowl with shrimp, fettuccini, and Alfredo sauce. Each of us was pleased with our choices. I for one have vowed to return and I would like to try another item from their extensive menu, although I might be tempted to have the same thing again because I was so pleased with it.
Food was not very good. No one in my party would return.
Usually a good experience- this time the food was so salty I sent it back. Our waitress didn't seem to care.
1st time in for us. Drove 25 minutes and it was definitely worth it.
We had the Bruschetta for an appetizer, Pollo Napoli and Cioppino for entree's, butterscotch creme brulee. (house bread was tasty as well!)
Wine: Montibalidi(?) Italian red blend (by the glass, was affordably priced -tasted good, however, I'm no wine snob) and for dessert "The Sicilian" cocktail (was amazing, rad glassware too)
Really enjoyed the meal! I had linguini with chicken and Alfredo sauce.
Food was not edible. We chose three different dishes, the veal was like shoe leather, the lasagna was very dry and swimming in a thin marinara sauce and lobster ravioli was absolutely dry and tasteless. No comp
Offered no one ate that night.
As always, Shawn and his team provided a marvelous dining experience!
Thanks to all!
Very good - would definitely recommend
Mussels in sauce and salmon with risotto were great
We were excited about trying Trattoria Roma but getting our food took quite a long time, and when it came, it wasn’t all hot. The restaurant was crowded - I expected a better experience. I don’t think we’ll try it again.
Food was excellent! We were able to be seated right away with a reservation
Food was AMAZING. Everyone else in my party was so impressed with their meals as well. I will definitely be going back.
I ate dinner there with my spouse and two friends. All of our meals were delicious. Chef Matt has a wonderful way with Italian food but other types as well. I had the lamb chops which were perfectly cooked and served with a delectable sauce. We also enjoyed the braciole, pasta puttanesca and scallops- clean plates all. Authentic food well prepared!
We've eaten here a few times in recent years. While the food is still pretty good overall, our entrees seemed much blander this time and needed an infusion from the pepper shaker. It's disappointing that an Italian restaurant needs to cater to overly cautious taste buds.
First time trying Trattoria, it won't be the last time I go back. The food is spectacular!
Incredible food, good service, and amazing wine! Our server gave excellent recommendations. Enjoyed my date night with my husband.
My girlfriend and I came here to celebrate Valentine's Day and we had an amazing time. The food is great and the atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Absolutely will be back again.
Great service and food!! Perfect for a nice quiet dinner with an intimate setting
We had last eaten at Trattoria Roma about a year ago and the food was pretty good, so we thought we would enjoy some nice Italian Food again. Unfortunately everything was not at all good, with the exception of the delicious rolls that they get from the nearby Stan Evans bakery. I had the Veal Saltimboca - it was tough, fatty and had little of the delicious flavors it should have had. My husband had the lasagne, and it was bland and gooey. We ate less than half and didn't bother bringing the leftovers home. We have seen the quality of their food fluctuate over the years, and they seem to be in a "down" cycle. Not sure we will bother to try them again.
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in and around Columbus. Authentic hand made Italian cuisine with delicately balanced flavors all in a calm and simple setting. If you want exceptional food without a bunch of bright lights, hype and pretense then give Trattoria Roma a try. Shawn and Chef Matt will take great care of anyone who comes through the door
Very nice. Great lobster ravioli.
Food is very authentic. Service was very unobtrusive. Allow some extra time to enjoy your meal.
I had amazing service and amazing dishes. I had a brisket tomato bisque soup and scallop pasta with angel hair. I enjoyed that even though it was a busy day for many restaurants on Valentine’s Day, we were never ignored and we were always taken cared of.
