Fireproof Restaurant & Lounge
A favorite restaurant, which I've been patronizing for more than a quarter century. That kind of longevity and loyalty says a lot about this restaurant.
phenomenal dinner can’t wait to go back! the food was incredible and they had many options for vegans/vegetarians and gluten intolerance.
Wonderful date-night Italian: we'd been looking for something "family," but found that & white tablecloths in the bargain! Great pasta, good variety of other main dishes (to be eaten at the next time), a good wine list of Italian and other. Elaine says "best angel hair ever."
Great experience overall - only negative was reservation was at 8pm but not seated until 8:30 pm
Normally like Trattoria Roma because it is quiet enough you can easily hear, but our last trip, Valentines wkend it was very loud and very busy. Energetic to me is not a plus, but it's not typically an issue there. One of favorite restaurants.
Once we stepped in, we felt like the staff was in over their heads. Our table was dirty when we were seated. The food took 60 minutes once ordered to come out. Overall the experience was below average for the price paid.
Long wait for reserved table.
Salmon dish too salty.
We went on a Valentine's date and they were quite busy so it took a bit longer than we anticipated to seat us even with our reservation. Even so, our waiter was very informative and helpful. He even gave my girlfriend quite a few different dessert options that weren't on the Valentine's day menu when he found out that she was allergic to the raspberry used in the dessert on it. The fish I had was great, it was the special of the day and even though I can't remember the name I do know it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place as great date place!
Great food and drinks are always good !
Excellent place for celebration dinner or just meeting friends.
We went here for Valentine’s Day. My husband had been trying to try this place for months but something always came up with our schedules. I surprised him with a reservation that I made two months in advance for Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately due to a meeting that ran over, we were 3 minutes late to our reservation. The hostess had four two top tables over in the nice dining side and proceeded to sit us at the four person table in the bar area literally next to the door where everyone was walking in and out. I can only assume she did this because we were late. The two tops in the other side of the restaurant sat empty for the remainder of the night. Being in the bar, we were constantly being bumped into by the people waiting for a table or the people leaving. There was a group of middle aged bachelors chugging wine and yelling at the standing table next to us. The good thing that came out of the situation was that our waitress was nice. The wine we selected was good. It was a white wine and they didn’t provide a cooling bucket. Food was a huge disappointment. The bruschetta was like cold marina sauce with tomatoes and squash mashed into it. The bread had been grilled at one point but when it all came out it was a cold mushy mess. Even the flavors were highly unfortunate. The main dinner was nothing to write home about other than that it was mushy breading on the chicken and very oily sauce. The cream brûlée didn’t have a brûlée. It was cold mushy butterscotch pudding. I understand that it was busy and that all staff is stretched thin trying to keep up with the demand. No matter the situation, serving cold mushy food across the board is unacceptable. Based on what we experienced, it doesn’t even come close to being in same category as some of these other nice italian restaurants: Morettis, Tony’s, Figlio, Z Cucina. Don’t waste your time or money, go elsewhere. Even Olive Garden is a better choice.
Me and my boyfriend came to celebrate our three year anniversary and had never been here before but found it extremely pleasant. We’re both vegetarian and the restaurant offered a few really great choices! The ambiance was calm and relaxed, the service was attentive and the pace was set perfectly. The food was great, we both had the vegetarian lasagna, we both had a winter mule (cocktail) and the price point was pretty good in my opinion. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try to anyone looking for something new.
Food was good and nice atmosphere. Our waitress was nice but didn’t seem to really care about our table. She had some people she knew sitting near us and spent a lot of time talking to them. When ordering we had to ask the specials, never asked if we wanted salads with our dinner. Kind of rushed us through ordering. My son asked for bread but she never brought it. Her friends, however, got lots of whatever they asked for. Just a bit annoying when we were celebrating our son’s birthday and having to flag her down every time we needed something because she never checked on us until it was time to give us the bill.
Trattoria Roma was a treat. I took my 83 year old mother to dinner on her birthday on a Monday. It was very quiet with just three other diners that I could see.
It was quiet pleasant and all around perfect. The service was excellent. Lots of wonderful options on the menu as one might expect. The food was delicious!
Food and Service are always great, as it was this time. Small, quaint, romantic restaurant in downtown Grandview. Great Italian Food. Mmm
We wanted to try a new place so we took a chance. We were lucky and found a great place, great food, fair price, and great service. I would recommend this for anyone who wants real Italian and no "chain" feel
Excellent Italian food, great service, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. We are regulars. We live in Grandview and love this place.
Food & service is excellent. Space is tight but adequate. Love the Mussels and Polenta. Pollo saltimbocca was outstanding.
Our waitress was excellent, she was available without being too overbearing, was very familiar with the menu, and had great timing with when our wine and food was brought out. The food was very good, especially the cozze. Our only complaint was that our table was squeezed into a corner and was very close to two other tables, so maneuvering in and out was a little tight. Overall, I would recommend and will likely eat there again.
Wonderful food and service
Service was a bit intermittent/spotty throughout meal, but extremely friendly and fulfilled all orders correctly. Ordered a glass of wine and water glasses were rarely refilled. However, as the restaurant began to fill there were only 2 servers on the floor, so I understand a bit longer delay. Food was excellent, if not a bit overpriced. It was clear there was dedication to the preparation, and everything tasted fresh and very well-balanced. Overall a good experience!
Great meal! LOVED the polenta appetizer...I will be back for that! Great service. All good!
The food was delicious. I had the chicken parm with fettucini. My wife had the ravioli. We both came away satisfied.
My husband and I went to Trattoria Roma on NYE - we were seated right away, service was very good, and the lasagna was delicious!
We've been to Trattoria Roma a few times now, and were a little disappointed with our experience this time. This service was, and always has been, great. The food; however, is hit and miss. Not sure if it was the holiday rush, but the food tasted a little off.
Service was excellent. Food was great. Table location was in middle of dining area and people would walk by constantly on both sides of our table for 2, which was kind of distracting. Otherwise good time.
New Year’s Eve
Excellent food and service
I had been to this restaurant about 8 years ago and it was fantastic. Just OK this year, food was good, but not great. I ordered Tiramisu and was very disappointed. It was cheesecake with coffee sprinkled on top. Not Tiramisu. Would not go back.
They never disappoint- always friendly service and excellent food!
Even though it was crowded, it was almost quiet. I had the Ravioli and my wife had the spaghetti and meatballs. We both loved our dinners as we knew we would.
We hadn't been here in years. I used to have a store in Grandview, and we also visited it on Morse Rd. We remembered the garlic bread as something totally different, and the meal was good, but not as good as we remembered it. Service was a bit slow, but everyone was pleasant and nice and eager to please.
Great food and service!
Hadn't been to this restaurant for years, and was not disappointed! Everyone got a different dish; from the specialized salads to the main courses, everything was excellent. Our server was very friendly and on top of it. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Overall the experience was good. We were in town for a graduation and wanted to celebrate by having a nice dinner. 3/4 dishes came out warm or steaming. And all three were excellent. However, the fourth (lasagne) was cold when asked to warm it, the kitchen just poured additional warm pasta sauce on top. So now the dish was cold and swimming in sauce. We ended up ordering a completely different dish after sending it back a second time. Would recommend the Ciopinno but not the lasagne.
Great food, great service, lovely place. Best place to celebrate special occasions.
This was our first experience in the Grandview Trattoria Roma - we had loved the Morse Rd location from years ago and decided we should treat our staff to our holiday dinner here. Our server, Misty, was wonderful and we moderately enjoyed our visit - I personally had the halibut special and loved it, but the rest if the party was slightly disappointed in the blandness of the food and we were very disappointed in the pollenta - not what we had been anticipating. Desserts were wonderful and everyone loved their coctails - the wine was also outstanding.
First time at the restaurant. Service was great, food was excellent. Went before the Bocelli concert. It set the tone for a perfect evening
Upon our arrival we were met and immediately seated. Waitress was great and very attentive. Different courses were served with great timing. We had the ravioli and scallops. Both entrees were very good. I’d go back every week if I lived in Columbus.
Service was exceptional and the food delicious. We will return.
