Consistently recognized by Zagat and Wine Spectator as one of the best in the country, Trattoria Roma is your home away from Italy.
Always good & the staff is so friendly.
Trattoria has consistently been one of the best Italian restaurants in Columbus. Their food is always top notch. Service never disappoints. The ambience is a welcome break from the clatter one experiences at so many restaurants
We had not been to Trattoria Roma for some time. We are glad we decided to revisit an old favorite. The service was excellent...friendly and efficient without being overbearing. Our meals were served in a timely manner without our being rushed. The special spinach salad was fresh and had an amazing dressing (apple, walnut, balsamic, I believe). They should put this on the regular menu. We had the Veal Saltimbocca and the Pollo Saltimbocca. Both dishes were prepared with care and presented nicely. A nice touch occurred when leaving the restaurant. The person who had seated us earlier in the evening responded to my compliments by saying, "Good. Let do this again!" We definitely will!!
Reliably good southern Italian dishes: spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, fettuccine Alfredo, with great service.
Server very attentive and kind.... unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. There were three of us... each of our entrees came out at different times... due to kitchen. We dined at 6:30... literally were maybe 8 people at the most in the restaurant. Felt the food was assembled from frozen or prepared items... not homemade.
Always a welcoming atmosphere at Trattoria. Very accommodating for allergies and food preferences
Our lasagna and salads were fine, but the "arancini" were very disappointing, overly fried, with the expected arborio rice coating not in evidence (and squares instead of balls?--arancini means "oranges" in Italian). The shrimp in one of our entrees was also overfried, and the risotto with it was gluey, looking and tasting like a previously prepared risotto that was reheated. Will not be back--too many good Italian places in Columbus!
As always. Awesome
We waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes for our entrees. My husbands pasta was watery and not hot. My steak was over cooked. We were very disappointed. On the positive side, my husband was not charged for his entree. With all the other options in Grandview, we will definitely not come back. Worse dining experience in a long tome for us.
Wonderful service and food!
Everything was delicious, as always. Our server, Aja, was
attentive without being overbearing. The sea bass and risotto was excellent! Highly recommend it.
We have been to Trattoria Roma many times and it has been a great experience every time.
Kristy was great . Lemon cello martini is awesome , chicken parm and Alfredo was good. Love the peach cashew kale salad . Chicken caprese was moist and delicious
Trattoria Roma is far more than a neighborhood Italian restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
Lovely restaurant with yummy traditional Italian dishes! Great service as well!
Teresa, our server, was WONDERFUL!
As was the restaurant in general - our first time there!
We only didn’t enjoy two things in the four different meals we ordered...the peanut reduction on the beet salad, and how much sliced garlic was in the pasta bolognese/cream sauce.
The fish special was amazing!
My wife and I were greeted by the owner when we arrived. Our table was waiting. The restaurant offered a special menu of choices to celebrate its 29th birthday. My wife's shrimp and ravioli were delicious, and my grilled steak gorgonzola was perfect. Bundled with a tasty kale salad and a dessert- we picked the tiramisu- made our dining experience very special!
Service was really bad. Been there a few times and decided to bring two other couples with us. Unfortunately, the service was really bad and we waited very long for our food. Might go back with just my husband, but will never bring guests there again.
Plastic in my food. Pasta over cooked.
Lovely from the time we arrived until we end our evening. Would go again in a heartbeat.
Theresa did a great job, I like to go back to restaurants with excellent service
From the special menu
Shrimp cocktail - 2 items
New kitchen staff - it showed - delivery of entrees and appetizers was 4 different trips (2 patrons)
Our favorite Italian restaurant in Columbus !!!
Quaint, authentic, intimate...what more do you want for a date night?
Service outstanding!!! Very personal and attentive. Food delicious with a vast array of choices. Great service for a large group.
The best Italian food my wife and I have ever had. Must must must try!
Our dinner was beyond fabulous. It was the 3 course Taste of Italy. The stripped bass was the best fish I've have in Columbus, the special salad and desert beyond beyond. Server was friendly and helpful. I think this is my favorite restaurant in Columbus
We had a very nice dinner at the bar with delicious small plates and Shawn making sure
we had everything we needed. Good food and drink and outstanding and cordial service.
We'll be back!
The food here is always well-prepared and tasty. To celebrate their 29th anniversary they offered a three course dinner for just $29.00. It included an appetizer choice, main course options, as well a choice of desserts. It is nice that in warm weaather they have outside seating. We decided to eat indoors because of the extrmely hot weather. They are very accommodating and allow some veggie and side-dish substitutions. We are never disappointed when we dine at Trattoria Roma. I highly recommend them-
I often get Tratoria Roma for lunch but since the food was so good I decided that I wanted to go on a date there. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable and the noise level in the restaurant was so considerate.
My experience was of a four star place with five star prices.
Food was good, not outstanding, and pasta bowl was slight on the selected chicken.
Arrived early ahead of our reservation and were promptly seated. Service was great and food was delicious and presented well. Drinks and food were fairly priced. Our first time there and looking forward to the next.
We were going to a show downtown after a quick meal and the staff made sure we were in and out of Trattoria in a very timely manner. Great martini and a nice Caesar salad with Chicken Parmesan and warm rolls for dinner from the Happy Hour Menu. Good value for the food! We'll be sure to return when we can take our time and enjoy dinner without racing off to downtown Columbus.
Great food as always at Trattoria Roma, and they were able to accommodate a special request for our anniversary. Only knock I would say was our waiter was a little inattentive/spacey at times considering the restaurant was not busy. Regardless, one of my favorite Italian spots.
We picked Trattoria Roma to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. I asked everyone to RSVP 2 weeks in advance, but I still had stragglers begging to be added to the guest list up until the actual day (seems to happen to me pretty often!) Luckily, the restaurant didn't bat an eye at my numerous calls to bump up the reservation number (even the one that came 2 hours before we were supposed to be there!) Food was lovely, drinks were strong, and my husband was able to be surrounded by the people that love him most on his birthday. We love this place and will continue to come here!
Great food, service was awesome, prices not terrible either. We will definitely be going back!
Not my first visit but my most disappointing one. No bread offered. I had chicken parmesan. Chicken was good but fettuccini Alfredo was clumpy and almost cold. Not really edible but I didn't send it back because I had brought a friend from out of town and bragged on the restaurant. He seemed to be happy with his pasta dish, but didn't eat that much of it. Really sub-par dinner.
My husband and I visited Trattoria Roma for the first time this past Saturday. It was perfect weather for a seat outside and the patio area was beautiful with newly-installed white curtains providing a bit of privacy from the adjoining street.
Our server was very friendly and kind, but we waited several minutes at various times throughout our meal experience (once seated getting our order placed, refilling of bread).
I ordered the beet caprese salad to start. The beets were delicious, but the dressing was a little too sweet. At the bottom of the salad was a nutty/chocolately paste that didn't really seem to complement the overall dish.
My husband and I both ordered pasta dishes, and they were pretty good but it was difficult to really get the full flavor because of the large amount of cream sauce that accompanied both the ravioli and the tortellini. I had five large pieces of ravioli that were good once they were removed from the large amount of sauce.
We would likely come to the restaurant again but we would order different dishes.
The staff was courteous and bruschetta was excellent and drinks were very good!
Unfortunately while the special with cheese tortellini was good the veal was poor and we were the only patrons eating at the time.
Sorry I am unable to recommend but obviously my oversight for not sending it back
Great place for dinner. You can actually hear your dinner companions because it’s not too loud. The mahi-mahi special was fantastic. The risotto was really unique with nuts added and very delicious.
