Consistently recognized by Zagat and Wine Spectator as one of the best in the country, Trattoria Roma is your home away from Italy.
We have dined at Trattoria Roma for many years. Although we have had service issues from time to time, the food is always very good. This occasion was a belated Valentine's Day dinner which, by the SRO turnout that night, must have been a common thread. Our server, Erica, was superb, and our food - as I just mentioned - was great. We will certainly continue to patronize TR again and again.
Great service! Food was delicious. The tables were a little cramped together. But overall, we had a great time thanks to the wonderful service!
Absolutely the best dining experience I have ever had, from the employees to the people that are regulars there..everyone was so nice, the food from appetizers to the main course we're amazing!! I highly recommend this place!!
We were both really impressed and can’t wait to go again.
I spent my first visit on 2/15/19 with my date and we had a fantastic experience! Can’t wait to come back. The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Really had a great time. Food was great. We all got different things and liked everything including the bread. Great service. Overall excellent
I went here with my family for Valentine's day. Very cozy with not much ambiance. The lettuce in my caesar salad was old and not tasty at all. I had a winter manhatten that was mediocre. The lobster bisque was pretty good. I ordered the chicken fettucine based off of reviews saying it was the best in the city, I beg to differ. The pasta was tasty but definitely not the best I've had. Service was good and food came rather quickly for such a busy holiday night. Overall I would return but I expected more.
I got the lobster bisque and it was the worst I have ever had , just tasted like cream with no lobster, it was too rich with no flavor. I also got the eggplant which was cold, very heavily breaded and tasted kinda burnt. It tasted left over. My husbsnd got the trio sample, Neither one of us liked the lasagna or the chicken Parm. The only thing we really liked and we loved it was the fettuccine Alfredo, the noodles tasted fresh and the sauce was really good so that was the only thing we ate. I had a water and my husband had two glasses of wine , our bill was $88 very disappointing we will not be back
It's a nice little restaurant but the food is truly just average. I had the veal scallopini and the meat was a bit tough and too much olive oil on the substitute pasta. I ordered Tiramisu and it didn't even resemble the real thing. It was much more like a combo between cake and cheesecake and was a big disappointment. My husband had chicken parmesan and said although good tasting the chicken was a bit tough. Was really hoping for a great Italian restaurant but this wasn't it. The wait staff couldn't have been better though and the atmosphere was fine and quiet enough to have conversation. So wish the food had been excellent as well.
Great dinner choice before going to the Ohio Theater. Service and food was excellent!
Great food, great service!! Can’t wait to go back!
Overall, our experience was amazing. The restaurant is small and intimate but as it filled up on a Saturday night, it was not noisy at all. The service was excellent, attentive and prompt. Food suggestions were geared towards individual questions and offers to tailor/substitute items was freely given. The freshly baked bread disappeared! We shared the house salad and the homemade dressing was fresh and tasty. The greens were crisp and the olives flavorful. The four of us went totally different directions in our food choices - Taste of Italy, Create your own Pasta Bowl, Philly Cheesesteak Ravioli and Veal Saltimbocca. The meals were outstanding with the exception that the lasagne was dry.
The only other item to note that was less than excellent was that some of the chairs were not level. (We traded with the table next to us). We will defiantly visit again.
We love coming here, and don't get here often enough. We always feel well taken care of and the food is just wonderful.
The atmosphere was quaint, the food was good, it took a little longer than anticipated and one of the patrons in our groups meal was cold. Not sure why but we didn't say anything either. The staff was pleasant and informative about the menu. I would go back.
Splendid little spot having wonderful stuffed meatball app! My main dish was a flat shell rolled with ricotta and a spinach mixture with their Laredo and marinara....Amazing! Wishing we lived in Columbus and not just visiting.
Trattoria Roma was very underwhelming. I would go back solely for the stuffed meatball, but nothing else. Service was okay to good. The entrees were okay. My husband’s veal was fine but looked like something dumped on a plate. I could barely eat any of my meal. I got the create your own bowl-angel hair pasta, lemon pesto, and salmon (requested it be cooked medium). A large bowl came out that looked like lemon pesto soup with some angel hair pasta and over cooked salmon. It wasn’t appetizing. I really wanted to like this place.
Shawn makes sure you have a good experience. Wonderful food.
Exactly what I wanted in an small, italian restaurant. Quiet (week night), dimly lit but enough light to see what you're eating & who you're talking to, good wine selection and amazing service! Chicken Saltimbocca was delish!
Great food, and wonderful environment. Only problem is that sometimes it's loud.
We went for New Year’s Eve. I got the lamb shank special which was delightful and my wife got the tour of Italy. Not sure which was better.
Delicious food, but too many people crowded in. Felt like you were having New Years Eve dinner with the tables beside you vs your own nite
Service is excellent. Food is hit or miss. Some dishes are fantastic, others are just ok or not to expectations.
New Year’s Eve dinner food was awesome
Our waitress was a bit younger and wasn’t very personable
But prompt service
Food and service we're both outstanding
It had been a couple of years since I last ate at Trattoria Roma. I was surprised that little has changed. The food was excellent. The filet was spoon tender; the veal was flavorful; the sea bass was perfectly cooked; and the ravioli was delicious. Service was attentive without being over-bearing. All-in-all, it was the best and most enjoyable meal I've enjoyed in Columbus during the last few months.
Christmas Eve dinner with my wife. The restaurant was extremely busy. It’s probably not fair to judge a restaurant under the circumstances. However, I did so because the restaurant, from the management to the hostess, to the wait staff, to the kitchen did a fantastic job. We’ve been eating here on Christmas Eve for a number of years, but, usually we eat early, before the really busy time of night for a restaurant. We are really pleased by our experience.
One of the finest restaurants in Columbus. excellent food and reasonably priced
We had dinner with one other couple last Saturday evening. The food was wonderful and the service was superb. It is a great location and easy to find parking.
Engagement gathering. Staff very nice and appropriately attentive. Food was good
Great food - neighborhood gem!!!
Great classic Italian dishes with excellent service!
It's our go to place to celebrate birthdays! Never disappointed!
Had a fantastic experience. Clarinda was our server and she was excellent. We ordered our filet rare and it was cooked perfectly (which is hard to find sometimes) and the veal saltimbocca was good as well. The kitchen was a little backed up, but our server communicated that to us early so we were aware of the wait. The wine selection was diverse and the pricing was very fair, especially for a restaurant. We will be back!
Service was great and tailored to our group with a kid, special requests and wanting to take our time. Portions were generous and taste was great and food was warm. Enjoyed it!
We had a wonderful meal and Shawn recommended a bottle of wine that was simply incredible!
Food and service are always very good, they are almost always able to honor special requests.
The food waa great.
4 stars because it takes a while to get food, otherwise excellent!
It was an average Italian experience in a town with a lot of good Italian choices.
Staff and food were both amazing!! Aja our server exceeded our expectations.
