Reservations: Easy via Open Table.
Ambiance: Great. Felt right at home. Restaurant is small and intimate. Not noisy.
Food excellent although pasta is not made in-house.
Cappacino was a little weak. Not much coffee flavor.

My food was inedible. Had to scrape off the sauce. One of our party had to send hers back. Delivered incorrectly! Next table over also had problems. Sent food back twice.

I have been here before. The Veal Parmigiana was superb!!!Today there was NO veal on the menu!!! The waitress said the new owners wanted to be more vegan. I will not be back, and I will tell all my friends my disappointment !!!!!!

Lovely place. Good service. I had bruschetta (very good, but needs a couple more pieces of bread), Caesar salad (very good), and chicken Marsala (very good, will order again!).

My wife ordered the vegan chicken Marsala, and while it had the same flavors, the Beyond Meat chicken product was just ok. We’re big fans of their “beef” product, but the chicken, not so much. If the patties could be thinner it would help. It was just too much Beyond product.

We’ll go back for more exploring the vegan menu here. Very happy to see they’re working to serve the plant based customers!

It was New Years Eve.... great ambiance in the restaurant.... really didn’t like the small table tucked away in the corner by the bar. Charming owner though tried to convince me otherwise. Sea bass beautiful and eggplant bruschetta interesting. Super restaurant!

This has to be one of the worst places to dine. The food used to be pretty good, but the customer service is beyond disgraceful. A while back we went in when it first got under the new ownership and there were a few bumps (which is to be expected / okay) when taking over a new venue. When we provided honest feedback, we were branded as "rude". That was silly, but whatever, we gave it a few more chances, and it seemed to be getting better. So we thought. Our last experience will certainly be our last experience. The service was beyond rude, and the food was horrible (we think on purpose). Some of the staff actually picked an argument with us, and told us "nobody wants to wait on you, anyway". Are you kidding me? In what professional establishment do you talk to guests like this? If we were being mouthy or causing a scene, that is one thing, but nothing like that has ever happened. Now it is true that we did ask for something that used to be on the menu that no longer is available. The server said they could /would not do it. I asked her if she could at least ask the Chef. She said she would not ask him because he was "too busy" Too busy? You can't even ask him? Too busy to cook food or for a question? This is a small restaurant that was not even close to full that night. When the "chef" came out to speak to us, the server lied/denied what she said and it just snowballed from there. Just an awful experience.
They are very rude and entitled here. If you provide any feedback that is not positive, you go on "their list" apparently. I would have much rather been told we were not welcome, than to be sat down and verbally abused. It is completely unacceptable, and I would encourage anyone that wants to be treated with any type of courtesy to go elsewhere. There are many restaurants that will treat you nicely. I did email the owner to try and talk this through, but he never responded.

Some dishes were good, and the service was nice, but I was disappointed with the Truffle pasta.
Since there are not many places that serves truffle pasta, I was looking forward to trying it there.
It was a pasta with mushroom cream sauce with hardly a flavor of truffle...

Dinner with a friend was good, help was a bit slow on a Friday night. Nice wine selection. Some prices reasonable for salads, etc. Plates of pasta were $9 - $10 higher than other local restaurants.

Wonderful southern Italian fare. Variety of red sauces not easy to find in San Diego. Lots of pasta dishes. Cesar salad dry. Chianti surprisingly good. Prefer tastier, crunchier crust on bread.

This was out third trip to Trattoria Ponte Vecchio and it was wonderful each and every time. We like to sit on the covered patio. Our waitress is the same each time and we enjoy her. She is personable and professional at the same time. Very friendly and welcoming, My husband is hooked on the Italian Sandwich. I have gotten the Chicken Parm Sandwich, the eggplant plate and the Pollo Parm plate all were very good. We do recommend trying them out.

There's a sense of being in a European cafe at Trattoria Ponte Vecchio that's noticed by every friend we've brought here. There are lots of options for vegetarians, the food is delicious (I am a vegetarian, so can't comment on other dishes) and there are varied wine options. Some of the dishes could be a bit more plentiful (ravioli!), but most portions are well sized and beautifully seasoned. The view during the day is lovely, looking out over the Torrey Pines Lagoon, and the lunch specials are superb.

This place is excellent. Ambiance, food, service, wine...all top notch.

My girlfriend and I were staying nearby and wanted Italian for dinner, so we made a reservation. The place is small, which makes the atmosphere a lot more personal, in my opinion. She had the Shrimp Scampi and I had the Lasagna. The food took a little while to prepare, which is expected being as the meals are entirely prepared from scratch. When it came out, it was hot, flavorful & fair sized. Not too much, but definitely enough to fill one up.

Definitely a wonderful experience.

They offer many choices for food and drinks for happy hour. The Cabernet was very good. The pear gorgonzola salad with sustainably sourced salmon was delicious. The eggplant parmiagiana was also very good. The wait staff is attentive without being intrusive. Very cute place!

Being vegan, we are very happy that Trattoria Ponte Vecchio has quite a few vegan dinner options and in their own section so that a "hunt" isn't necessary. The drink options and wine list are extensive with lots to choose from.

Got last minute table on Open table. Seated in the back near Noisy waiter station(probably due to last minute reservations) Extra dry basic bread came late, after salad. Entrees were good, good size portions. Gnocchi good but not great. Bolognese pasta was good but not the meat sauce flavor I'm aquainted with. Server was great. Will return to try other dishes.

The shorter of the two receptionists was really rude and questioned that we actually had a reservation and looked at us like we were lying after a very friendly gal had already checked us in and quickly verified our reservation. We sat at the table for 20 minutes before our waitress came to our table to take a drink order and then the drink wasn’t brought to the table until our dinners were brought to the table.

We had a reservation and waited for our server to greet us for quite a while. She was a very good server but clearly overworked. When we finally got our starter, they put sauce on it so we had to send it back. When the item reappeared, it was a third of the amount they had brought before. We didn't complain. The entrees were good, but the long wait times between visits and water refills left us disappointed in general. We really wanted to like it there. I DID appreciate the large number of VEGAN selections. For that reason I would recommend this restaurant to my vegan friends, but with the caveat that that they should come at lunch or a less busy time of day.

Great food. Helpful staff but it was loud to sitting close to the kitchen and trying to have a conversation. I’d recommend sitting in the outside patio so you don’t here the kitchen noise. Having said all this, the food was amazing. It will keep me coming back!!

I am not one to write reviews often unless a place is amazing or it really disappoints me. I just moved to this neighborhood and it was my first experience and was hoping it could be my new Italian food spot. We had a 7:15 reservation and got there on time. Our first table offered was right next to the hostess desk and the heat of the kitchen was strong. No AC. We asked for something near the door and they accommodated. It then took almost 15 minutes for anyone to come and take our order. We were not offered bread even after sitting for 15 minutes and needed to request it from our server when she took the order. I ordered the risotto with asparagus and my son the gnocchi with vodka sauce. By 8pm we had no food and were never offered more bread or any explanation why our meal was not out. I stopped one of the servers and asked to speak to the manager. No manager ever came over. At 8:05 our meal arrived. My risotto with asparagus was bland at best and lacked the cheesy taste from good parmesan that the dish is known for. Very brothy. I smothered it with grated cheese to try to compensate. My sons gnocchi seemed too al dente to me but he liked it. We were then asked if we wanted desert and said no. We were ready to go. Then our waitress brought the check and I again asked if the manager was in. She said that she was the manager. I asked if she was open to some feedback and proceeded to tell her how long we waited to eat and all we were offered was bread and water until our food arrived 50 minutes after we did. She told me that since everything is made fresh it takes longer. Bad answer. I make gnocchi fresh and it takes only a few minutes to cook. The sauce is already made and simply ladled on. As to the risotto, that takes under 20 minutes to make. So either they lost our order or were not organized in the kitchen. Either way, the 4 star average seems high for this place. It was not terrible by any means but definitely not 4 stars.
