Trattoria No. 10 Ratings and Reviews
Visiting again, this time for a birthday and pre-theater dinner. They asked when confirming the reservation if we were going to theater, and the server asked again when she greeted the table. Despite this, it took more than 40 minutes for out entrees to get to the table. We (barely) had time to finish the entrees and certainly didn’t enjoy them (time wise) like we’ve been able to in the past. Two tables of four were seated near us after we arrived, ordered, received their meals, paid the check and left all while we waited for our order. The server advised the delay was due to varied stations preparing entrees, and ours was backed up. Others weren’t. The server was great, and voluntarily removed charges for two glasses of wine from our bill. This was the first time we have encountered this kind of issue. So for next time: if you are going to theater, or have a deadline, confirm that what you are ordering can be prepared in the time you have available.
We have had the pleasure of dining at Tratoria Number 10 on several occasions. On each of those occasions we have had an excellent meal and wonderful service. Today, Rachel was our server, and she was terrific. I recommend the Minestrone soup and the Butternut Squash Ravioli. Both are excellent.
We went to dinner after seeing the play, Hamilton on Valentine’s Day. Everyone from the hostesses, the server, the other wait staff and Manager were friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding and our server Rebecca help us select some wonderful dishes. The butternut Squash Ravioli was outstanding.
My long-time friend and I love coming to Trattoria 10 before our subscription night at the Goodman. And this evening was also my birthday celebration. We were delighted to find Lobster Ravioli on the menu again. It was delicious. Our server couldn’t have been more congenial and attentive. And my beautifully presented complimentary dessert was like eating chocolate covered cherries. Thank you.
My fiancee and I went here on our visit to Chicago right before Valentine's Day. We decided to celebrate here and it was such a delightful experience. Our waiter, Paulo, was incredibly funny and just a great guy. Everything on their menu looks amazing and it is truly a difficult decision. Everything from the drinks, to the delicious food, to the great dessert (get the gelato with chocolate sauce) was top notch. When we visit Chicago again, this will be on our To Do List. Thank you so much for such a great dinner!
We loved everything about our experience at Trattoria 10. We particularly noticed how the noise level was so much less than other city restaurants- the tables were not on top of each other and we could enjoy a conversation. The service was exceptional- our server had already planned dessert for the birthday guest we had noted on our open table reservation. Each of us loved our salads and entrees. The tiramisu was indeed classic and amazing. Thank you for a memorable evening!
I have been to no. 10 many many times and it’s always good and I always give it a good review. This time it was as expected except for one thing. Our waiter steered us rather aggressively, I thought, to the dishes he likes. That’s a minor thing but it was not a busy evening and he seemed quite concerned to get us out of the restaurant, at one point making a theatrical gesture to look at his watch. The website says the restaurant closes at ten and other people were still eating. We left at 9:40, which did not seem to deserve the waiter’s impatience.
Hence he did not get an especially generous tip.
Despite having a reservation well in advance and being on time we were given a table right in front of the door where a private party commenced 10 minutes after seating. Despite the fact there were at least 6 better tables empty. Last time we were there we were assigned a table adjacent to the waiters work station/ cash register. Never again. Moreover, the veal was thin and tough. The pasta was poor. Last time we'll do PRE theater at this place
My mom and I were celebrating her 96th birthday - we arrived early - before they were even serving and made us feel at home. They provided drinks for us and kept us informed as to when dinner would be started. They had attention to every detail including helping me to get my phone charged. The food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend!!
I have passed the outside of this restaurant many times when getting lunch during the week, but I never went inside. It was like a secret underground hideaway. I thoroughly enjoyed the fare - the pasta was delicious. Conveniently close to the theaters and the center of the loop. It was a little pricey for me if it wasn't restaurant week, but the food was worth it. :)
We had lunch at Trattoria No. 10 during Chicago Restaurant Week. They had a special menu (in addition to their regular menu) which my wife and I chose from. She had scallops and said they were delicious. I had veal and it was also excellent. The lunch also came with soup or salad and a desert. Accompany that with a little wine and we had an excellent time and a very special lunch before going to a play.
Chose the restaurant because of its proximity to the theater. It turned out to be a great choice. The food and service were top notch. Extensive Italian menu. Burralada affumicato appetizer salad followed by pasta with duck confit, rich sauce, wonderful duck and a nice Sicilian rose to complement them
I've been to Trattoria No. 10 many times over the years. This time, I tried a new lunch item -- the salmon toast. Our server recommended it, and it did not disappoint. They smoke their own salmon in house and serve it on toast with avocado, preserved lemon and greens. Delicious, filling, yet light. The only negative aspect of the lunch was that our server all be forgot about us once she brought our entries, with the result that my client and I both had to rush back to our offices, the lunch took so long.
Trattoria has hands down the best pasta in Chicago. It is always cooked perfectly al dente. I had the lobster ravioli which was delicious, and my husband had the Orecchiette - recommended by our wonderful waiter - and it was perfectly spiced. Had a nice heat to it. We had some wonderful desserts too - Profiteroles and some wonderful pistachio gelato. The tables are not crowded together at the restaurant, and the waiter did not rush us through dinner. It was a great experience.
From the beginning our evening at Trattoria No. 10 was memorable. The baby kale caesar salad and the home made pastas were excellent and wine selection most enjoyable. To top it off the surprise birthday desert was remarkable. All of this was enhanced by the attention and helpfulness exhibited by our server Rachael who did her best to make the evening special. What a way to wind down after a great performance of Hamilton.
Went there for Restaurant Week lunch. Wonderful server—so positive and pleasant. The choices were so great that I had a hard time deciding. Had lobster bisque, veal scallopini, and flourless chocolate cake. All fantastic. I told my daughters about the meal and they went. They loved their food also, especially the scallops and the gnocchi. Will definitely return.
