Trattoria No. 10 Ratings and Reviews
Everything started out great; service, timing, and taste of food. We then had a long break between our cheese platter and the entree. Being near the theater district, the crowd emerged at the same time. Our entrees took long to get there. No explanation until we asked.
Trattoria No. 10 is an excellent choice for a pre- or post-theater meal. Located below ground level, it has a cozy feel, and the moderate noise level allows for conversation. Everything we ordered tasted wonderful and was presented beautifully. The beet ravioli salad was refreshing, with the ricotta complementing the beets. The strozzapreti pasta had a great combination of flavors, with the pancetta, gremolata and lemon butter accenting the pasta, and the tiny chili threads supplying just the right amount of spiciness. The scallops entree provides four huge sea scallops cooked to perfection. The tiramisu was a light, not-too-sweet dessert that is large enough for two to share. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. We have eaten at Trattoria No. 10 a handful of times, and it never disappoints.
This place was EXCELLENT. From the reservation til the time to finished dining everything was great. We appreciated the round table for our group (7 of us). Made conversation easier. The wait staff was excellent. We also appreciated that they did not try to rush us on a Saturday night to turn table over. HIGHLY recommend this place.
Have been to Trattoria #10 many times and have greatly enjoyed it every time. I look forward to many more visits. We had an excellent server (Rachel) who was very attentive and personable without being one who hovered. The food arrived in a reasonable time and, as always, was delicious. We also enjoyed meeting Laura who answered several questions and obtained information that we asked about. All in all it was an excellent way to cap a wonderful day spent in Chicago. I have already taken the opportunity to recommend T#10 to several friends here in Michigan City, Indiana.
The restaurant is very convenient to the Chicago Theater District. Homemade ravioli daily was very good. Small portions are served which is fine with me, but my teenage son was still hungry after a salad, entree and dessert! You pay for the homemade pasta, not the portion size.
We celebrated a birthday, as we do here annually, and as always, the service was excellent, our server attentive without being interruptive, and the food very tasty with a series of excellent choices as well as some wine recommendations to accompany the selections. My wife praised the minestrone and the scallops, her main course, while I followed the server's tip on the lobster ravioli, brought back for this week. Because it was a birthday, we received a special birthday dessert, their flourless chocolate cake, which was, as always, wonderful. This is a favorite spot also for pre-theater with proximity to three of the major venues in easy walking distance.
My husband had a conference in Chicago and I tagged along for the food! I chose Trattoria No.10 after scouring tons of reviews. I only had two nights and I wanted to make them great ones. I started with what our server recommended, the beet ravioli. It was so beautiful and delicious. Thinly sliced yellow and red beets with ricotta cheese in-between and drizzled with olive oil and scattered pistachios. LOVED! My husband had the pork belly and said it was supper rich and delicious. Great starters. Next I ordered the appetizer portion (not a large quantity eater) of the homemade gnocchi with gorgonzola sauce. Every bite was dreamy. Perfect size for me but would be a great starter or something to share for most people. As ravioli is the speciality of the house, my husband got the spicy sausage and he said is was fantastic. As I don't eat meat, I have to take his word for it :) I highly recommend dining here and next time I am in Chicago, I will return!
This restaurant is know for their ravioli and they did not disappoint. They do offer small plates on certain items which allows you to try various pasta dishes as well. Rack of lamb was excellent and the profiteroles were delicious using home made gelato. Will definitely go back.
