Trattoria No. 10
Known for fresh ravioli. Great mushroom ravioli. The lamb carpaccio is ok. The scallops are delicious. As well add the whole branzino (European sea bass).
Not your average Italian restaurant very interesting menu with great choices
A great place for a pre or post theater dinner. Lobster ravioli or butternut squash ravioli can't be beat.
Excellent service and good wines add to a nice Loop experience.
Thank you for your review! Happy to see you enjoyed our house made ravioli!
Food and service was outstanding!!
Thank you for the 5 STAR review!!
Minestrone soup-delicious, prosciutto salad-amazing, great mushroom ravioli, fantastic profiteroles for dessert best of all, we had great service from the manager and our waiter. We loved it all.
I will pass along this terrific review to the entire team! Your server, Jan, takes a great deal of pride in his work and he is a real asset to us. :)
Our food was fresh and had a nice presentation. Everything is ala carte so it gets pricey quickly. Don’t go to this restaurant for a wide variety of menu items. A one page menu with ravioli featured as the only pasta option.
Our server seemed rushed and disinterested.
A very loud obnoxious table with 4 adults and 3 kids sat near us.
Hi Renee, I appreciate your feedback about the menu and your service. We hope you'll give us another try.
Warm and inviting decor, noise level very conversation friendly and delicious food with excellent service.
Judith, we make a great effort to give everyone delicious food and excellent service. I am happy to see we meet your expectations and look forward to having you dine with us again! :)
The food was delicious. Excellent presentation, flavor, temperature, portions. The service was outstanding. Steven was very attentive. The prices very reasonable.
Patrick, I will pass this great review to the entire team and especially the kitchen. Happy to see that Steven was attentive and gave outstanding service! We hope to have you back for dinner in the future!
Pasta dishes are exceptional; flavors - especially smoked sauces and ingredients are like nothing I've ever had before.
Joel, looks like you might of tried our hand rolled Garganelli Pasta with house Smoked Chicken with Black Garlic Sauce... I will let Chef Jordan know you appreciated the unique dish!
As always....excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommend for before theatre, special occasion or any occasion.
Hi Linda, thanks for recommending us and the 5 start review!!
We were at Trattoria no 10 on July 10 and hadn’t been there in a few years. It was amazing! The branzjno and ravioli squash and arabiata ravioli were all superb and the dessert which we shared the profiteroles yummy! Staff was attentive to our show time. Very nice!
Joyce, looks like you had some of my favorite dishes including the profiteroles with Valrhona chocolate sauce :p Hope you'll be back soon to try some of our other great dinner options!
We had such a lovely evening dining at Trattoria No. 10. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was delightful. We had a show to see right around the corner and that was very convenient. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Hi Sonja! Thanks for recommending us and we hope you'll be back for another lovely evening with us! :)
Hi Paige! Thank you for the 5 Stars!
Entres were excellent. Ravioli and octopus. Fish whitefish and brasolia sp. were both overlooked Our waitress was great. Knew her wines.
Glad you enjoyed the octopus and ravioli! Maybe you can join us again and try one of our fish selections.
We enjoyed a lovely evening with great wine and food. The menu always offers something new!
Hi Jody! Happy to see you had a lovely evening with us! :)

Perfect! Thanks for sharing Alice P! :)
Awesome food and great birthday treat! Very cool & original menu
I'll share your thoughts with Chef Jordan and Don! Thanks for the 5 STAR review!
As always, very enjoyable to spend dinner time at Trattoria 10.

Fabulous place for dinner. Unique menu and wonderful service!
Thank you Marsha! Look forward to having you join us for dinner again! :)
I want to start by saying that this was my 4th visit and I am way overdue for this review. Trattoria No.10 is among my favorite restaurants to visit while in Chicago, and if I was to rate it on my top 5 it would be a solid number 1. Have had the pleasure of being served by Tammy on all of my visits and she is a fantastic waitress as well as super attentive. She always starts by asking if you are taking in a show and on a timeline as Trattoria is right in the theatre district and if you answer no she does not rush you at all.
There are several starters that are among my favorite with the prosciutto and grilled octopus being top two, or at least the octopus was until they recently changed the way they cook it. You will not be disappointed with any of them though, and if you want a salad the house salad has a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette with field greens and goat cheese topped by candied walnuts that is my favorite of any place I have eaten.
Main course selections I cannot say enough about, the lobster ravioli cannot be beaten and is one of their best selling. Of course, all of their ravioli dishes are the house specialties and cannot be beat anywhere, this is not chain Italian or even close to anything like that. All of their food rivals anything I have had in Naples or Rome and without any reservation, I can recommend you try it.
With all that said, sometimes you do hear the subway rumble by from an interior wall and it can be hard to get into without a reservation so plan ahead. And finally, if you are craving something sweet after dinner the tiramisu will not leave you wanting more.
Hi David! Tammy is an asset to the team and I'm glad you enjoyed her service. Thank you for sharing your dining experience and food feedback. Your review is a true pick-me-up!
Ambiance was really nice and service was excellent. Server Paul was patient and helpful allowing us to enjoy the dinner without rushing us. The appetizers and most entrees were pretty tasty but not too complex. I thought the price was fair and not as expensive as other restaurants of this quality.
Thank you for your feedback! I will pass along the nice words to Paul and team!
This was our first visit to Trattoria before a play. Our waiter was wonderful. Very helpful for menu choices. The lobster ravioli is wonderful. Very intimate and relaxed environment. We used their valet service for our car. After the play our car was parked outside waiting for us. Highly recommend Trattoria downtown.
Mary, I'm thrilled to see we met your expectations and that you recommend us. Please join us for dinner again!
This was my second time going there and it was just as good as, if not better than, I remember. The staff is super kind and helpful, and the butternut ravioli is as amazing as it was before. Delicious meal and dessert, and a great, cozy feel. 10/10 would recommend ❤️❤️❤️
Being kind is part of our golden rule motto! I'm delighted that our staff FOH and BOH made your dining experience a 5 STAR review! :)
The service was attentive and friendly. Good recommendations when asked. I always enjoy my dining experience there.
We love hearing reviews like yours! Thanks for sharing your experience with us! :)
It’s fine if you need to stay in the loop but I would strongly encourage someone to look elsewhere. The west loop and university village are both close with better offerings. The risotto is completely overpowered by lemon, sausage ravioli fell apart, and kale Caesar was overly tough and very stem-y - basically poorly prepped. Also prices are much higher than they should be.
Thank you for you feedback David. We are always looking to improve and I will pass your concerns to the chef. Hope you'll give us a second chance!
Fabulous food and service. The sauce in the pasta dish was unusual and delightful. The veal was tender and the sauce wonderful. The menu gave more than enough choice.
EXCELLENT Server, Paul, made the experience a 5. Food was great
I will pass Paul the Kudos Mary! :) Thanks for the review!
Trattoria 10 is our favorite restaurant downtown. Wonderful cocktails, excellent salads and creative delicious entries. Great desserts too.
We LOVE being the favorite! Look forward to having you join us for dinner again! :)
Food was good. I liked that half portions were available. Service could have been better. Need to have better judgment on how much time to spend talking to guests.
Glad you like your dinner! Thanks for bringing your issue with service to our attention, we will address at our daily meetings! :)
great homemade raviolis, good service and wine is not ridiculously priced.
Appreciate your review and five stars! Join us for dinner on a Monday evening for 50% our entire bottled wine list! Now, that's a deal you can't beat.
A friend’s birthday. It was excellent service as well as food.

Went with wife before seeing a play. Were greeted by host and she asked if we were going to the theatre. I don't know if that had to do with it, but the service was impressive. Had an excellent meal, coffee and dessert and were out of the restaurant in less than an hour. Had the risotto with scallops and the Maine lobster ravioli. Both were excellent. The profiteroles were really good.
Thrilled to see we were efficient in giving you and your wife an excellent dinner before the play! Thanks for the review!
For over 30 years Trattoria 10 has been a go-to place with consistant quality and service. Couple that with a menu that evolves with the times while maintaining the favorites and you have an excellent restaurant that will always be one of your best options regardless of the group or the occasion.
Great service and food! I have taken my clients out to dinner there twice, and there has been great consistency with regard to service and the food.
Anthony, we set our standards high and it means a lot to see a review like your yours about consistency with service and food. Thank you!
A fine combination of relaxed, friendly service, VERY fine food, a "comfortable" venue and a fair price (not cheap but, for what you get, a VERY good value.
Entering Trattoria No. 10 is "different": one comes in off the street to a tiny "lobby" to a set of stairs that goes down a flight of stairs...nothing "welcoming", no one there, until you come down the last steps to enter the dining room from "above". The room spreads out is front of you, warm, relaxed and quiet with nice warm lighting. The restaurant is larger than you would expect but divided into rooms that are modest in size.
We had a server, "Jan" who was just a charmer: welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. If I owned a restaurant I'd hire this guy i a second.
I'd been attracted to Trattoria No. 10 because I thought the menu was interesting and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed a VERY fine "Manhattan di Torino" and my wife had her favorite beer, Lagunitas IPA. For starters she had "Shaved Asparagus Salad" which I liked as much as she. My "Grilled Octopus" starter was very good. Her "main" was the "Mushroom capellacci" which had a thin "shroomy" broth which was very good, if not "blow away". And then I had a wonderful "Roasted Branzino". I don't like to deal with the head, eyes and tail of the "whole fish" but the staff delivered the fish, as I requested, in two wonderful filets - crispy, seasoned well, perfectly cooked (neither dry nor "wet").
Our server "Jan" was especially helpful with suggestions for glasses of wine to go with my food: solid choices and NOT the most expensive choices. And he was just gracious and helpful and professional.
The nest time I go to Chicago I'm not even looking elsewhere....I'm going to Trattoria No.10.
But if you want to "check out" this review, I suggest you look at the menu.....
What a great review to read!! Jan is a true asset to the team and I happy to pass this along to him! I will also share your compliments with the chef!
Another great experience at Trattoria No. 10. Good service. Good food. I totally enjoyed the pork special.
Hi Robert, I will let the chefs know you enjoyed their Porcellino entreé! It's always good to see that our team is giving good service for a great experience. Thanks for your review!
We chose Trattoria 10 because it was steps away from Hamilton- what a fantastic surprise! This formal Italian restaurant sends out dish after dish that bring a smile to an Italian face. Artistically presented culinary delights that we sampled included: seared octopus and Field green salad as our appetizers; entrees of Lobster Ravioli and Veal scaloppini. For desert we shared a serving of a strawberry marscapone filled waffle cone drizzled with caramel sauce. We did not care for the strawberry rhubarb pineapple compote, but we still managed to praise the remainder.
Service and accommodation are delivered with perfection. Don't hesitate to dine here.
Thanks for sharing your 5 STAR review Joanne! I will pass along your feedback with the entire team!
Our choice for dinner at Trattoria No 10 could not have been more perfect....we needed to be near the theater district and not late for the show. Our waiter was great, the food was outstanding and we were two blocks from the theater so the location was ideal.
"Perfect", is what we like to hear! We hope you choose us for dinner again!
