Trattoria Mercatto at Eaton Center is a trendy Italian eatery in downtown Toronto. Modern and rustic elements combine in the restaurant’s interior while it keeps its menu authentic and traditionally Italian. Enjoy your meal in the open dining room of Trattoria Mercatto with floor to ceiling windows, wooden furniture, hanging lights and exposed steel beams.

Although the food and service were very good the pasta portions were very small - for the price paid it really was not worth it.

The service was basicaally nonexistent. Even after the neglect was initially recognized and apologized for….it didn’t get any better! Linguine de Mare…for $30! was not sufficient to feed a child. Patio was blistering hot and we had to ask for water after waiting at least 15 minutes from being seated. Ended up on the patio because we were told only high tops available inside. Went to washroom which was upstairs and saw that it was empty but for one table….. Very much regret eating here especially with all the other choices in the area. Was honestly just thinking how dissatisfied I was when I got this request to give a review. I really regret tipping anything at all and will obviously not be returning.

It is so nice to return to a restaurant, knowing that each course of the meal will be delicious and the service is consistently friendly and excellent. We have never been disappointed in all of the times that we have dined here.

Antipasti and salads were amazing! Warm bread with pesto is delicious. The warm olives and pistachios was lovely. Ziti Pasta dish was a bit bland and was made with rigatoni noodles, not ziti noodles.

So happy to have come in for lunch with my family before heading off to see Beetlejuice at the Ed Mirvish Theatre across the street! Prompt and friendly service, great selection of non-alcoholic beverages, and delicious food. They were also very attentive to my wife's allergy to eggs which is a rarity! The Summerlicious menu was a great value with large portions and great flavours. Super flavourful Arancini, perfectly ripe tomatoes and nicely seasoned ricotta in the Tomato Salad, and a heaping serving of Cavatelli with fresh seasonal corn and pancetta. We sat at noon and were out with plenty of time left to make it to our show at 2pm. We'll definitely be back !

Great location near to the theatre, which we were attending. My husband and I shared a pizza and beet salad to start. Both were very tasty. My husband had the skirt steak which he thought was amazing. I had the shrimp salad which I enjoyed but it was with faro and I found it a bit bland. Shrimps were delicious! Great service , everyone is super friendly. We would definitely go back and we highly recommend.

I always look forward to Summerlicious. Trattoria Mercato has a nice selection of food on their menu and is good value. The grilled calamari, pickerel and chocolate gelato were delicious.
