Trattoria Mercatto at Eaton Center is a trendy Italian eatery in downtown Toronto. Pizza's were amazing, with thin crust but soft edges. Seafood linguine was ordered by 4 people - great amounts of scallops, shrimp and clams. Not too much pasta. Ask for the freshly grated parmesan. Others had the beet salad and said it was good. Charcuterie board is enough for 4. Burrata was a nice surprise. The place gets a little noisy inside as the sound echoes around. Great outdoor patio for a quiet experience, however there are homeless people in the area and some pigeons.

We dined here prior to the Jann Arden concert at Massey Hall. I had the Asparagus Risotto with shrimp which was very flavourful and the shrimp tender. My husband had the fried lasagna which he thoroughly enjoyed. I enjoyed a 5 oz Italian Pinot Grigio and my husband enjoyed a Niagara Sauvignon/Merlot blend. We have dined here a number of times and we find the food fresh, prepared well and very flavourful. But dining downtown is not inexpensive that is for sure.

I went to Trattoria Mercatto for lunch twice this week. At first I was disappointed that my favourite dish was not on the menu. I tried the tuna tartar one day. It was pleasant but not exceptional. The second day I spoke to the waiter and he suggested the shrimp salad. It was amazing! The shrimp were on a bed of faro. The blend of flavours was very delicious. I enjoy lunch at this spot in the Toronto Eaton Centre.

We were charged for 3 cocktails when we only had 2. Didn't look at the bill til I got back to hotel.

We were delayed due to traffic. I called and the host held our table . Perfect from start to finish . Incredible service and food.

We (3 adults & 2 children) went for an early dinner, following a matinee @ CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. Reservation was for 4:45 pm, noise level was low. Surprised that there was no children’s menu. There were other families in attendance with children 10 & under. Also couples of all ages. Our waiter “Darrell” was great. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu. Once our food arrived ( fresh & hot), Darrell checked in twice to see how the meal was & if we needed anything, which was appreciated. The location of the restaurant is ideal - ground floor of Eaton Centre. This was my fourth visit, I will definitely return.
