Trattoria Lucia Ratings and Reviews
To start, the food is Italian comfort food. Saucy, creamy, garlicky goodness. Our server was very efficient and knowledgeable about the menu as well as the specials. The owners were very in touch with what goes on in the restaurant. Will definitely come back here again!
We came here for dinner last night and it was superb. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. What was really nice was the personalized attention our server Billy gave us. He knew all the specials and every ingredient in every dish. His service was impeccable. The homemade desserts really made our night. Try the peanut butter pie.
My friend and I made a special request to be seated outside since the weather was so beautiful. The outdoor sidewalk patio is a great feature for the warm weather and gave our dining experience that special touch. The hostess, Karen, was very accommodating and was extremely helpful while we were ordering. The food was a delicious twist on classic Italian dishes and the portions were very generous! We were even given a free round of drinks! I would definitely return to this local spot and would recommend it to my friends and family.
Came here for Mother's Day. Expected a busy evening. We were given complementary drinks due to the long wait time even with having a reservation. My only issue was with the hostess who was clueless she would say she's coming back in 5 minutes then walk right past you. Good price $40 for appetizer, pasta, entree and dessert. Food was tasty enough to come back but not to brag over: Couldn't beat the fixed price. Overall it was a good experience.
We went to Trattoria Lucia for the first time on Mother's Day 2017. We had a 3:30 PM reservation as did many other diners who began our Mother's Day outing standing outside in the rain waiting past 3:30 for the restaurant to open. WE WERE NOT SERVED TILL AFTER 6:00 PM and in fact from out 3:30 reservation we missed a 7:40 movie. Although the food when it FINALLY arrived was good I would not return. Between the VERY unpleasant hostess with the leg tattoos who never apologized for the ungodly delays to the waitstaff that never brought a second ordered beverage or asked about a second round of cocktails in over 4 hours. What a shame - we thought of ordering grubhub to the restaurant. Thank goodness the other diners were pleasant and I was with my family which is always a good thing! DO NOT GO ON HOLIDAYS!
Terrible. I paid $30 gratuity automatically applied for a waitress that never came. We had to request our own napkins, Hunt down a bus boy to get us drinks and silverware. The food ran out. We waited over an hour after our reservation time. The owner was a wreck and rude. Wouldn't recommend at all
I wanted to take my wife to someplace new. I saw the great reviews for this place and we ended up in Bellerose. We never even heard of Bellerose before. Excellent food and service. On arrival we were welcomed by the hostess Karen, and she was very sweet. She quickly took our drink order and told us the specials. She asked if we dined here before and when we said first time customers she said we would soon be regulars. Bill was our waiter and he was very accommodating. All I can say is large portions and very fair pricing. My wife decided to try the everything crusted tuna with a mound of sautéed spinach and me I tried the seafood lucia which happens to be the signature dish. Lots of fresh seafood. Banana cream pie and the peanut butter pie both were amazing and decadent. We really enjoyed our meal here and will definitely be coming back.
We found this restaurant on Open Table and after all the good reviews we decided to give it a try. We are very happy we did. We were quickly greeted by the manager Karen and she was very friendly. Our server was Billy. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu items. He told us the specials and we opted for some of them. The portion size is huge at this place and the pricing is very reasonable. The food was delicious and hot. The Mussels and baby shrimp appetizer was fresh. Sometimes mussels have a strong flavor not here. I had the lamb special over garlic mashed potatoes and it was amazing. My wife had the vegan ravioli and my daughter had red lentil pasta which was also a vegan dish. For dessert I had the peanut butter pie and wow was it amazing. Great place for people of all ages and I highly recommend it.
Very good food, nice size portions and very affordable prices. We tried a lot of the daily specials, like the Burrata cheese with grilled vegetables appetizer, and the grilled calamari and Portuguese octopus entree. Nice wine list and friendly, professional service. Did I mention not to skip the desserts? The banana cream pie and limoncello cake were really delicious! Street parking was readily available right outside. Worth the trip to come here and eat a great meal.
Excellent food done in generous portions. Service was amazing. Karen the hostess came over and greeted us with her very warm smile and sexy inked legs. She also told us the daily specials. Soon after, our server Matt arrived and took great care of us. We tried the roasted cauliflower appetizer which was prepared in a buffalo sauce. We never had anything like it and it was delicious. A little spicy and the gorgonzola on top defined the dish. For main course we had the lamb shank over red lentil pasta, jumbo sea scallops and the cowboy steak. The thing about this Italian place is the fact that they have so nany unconventional dishes that are actually prepared very well. The cowboy steak was tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. For dessert we had the highly recommended peanut butter and banana cream pies . Both house made and off the hook. It's our first visit to this place and will not be our last. We highly become the Trattoria and can't wait to come back and see that hostess again!!
Food excellent. Service was minimal & inattentive. We were a group of 8 & requested separate checks. The server told us they don't do that but we could review the bill ourselves & indicate what amount to charge to the individual cards. We did so. After a reasonable time, I asked the server what the problem was since he didn't return our cards. He informed me that they had the "old" system. & it took time. After 2 additional requests and almost 30 minutes the cards were returned. The venue was NOT CROWDED as there were only 4 other customers.
Very bad service ! Here's why: got on time and seated for 730p reservation; served bread with no butter, had to ask for it, table setting with no knife - have to ask for it; 8pm order was taken ; 830p 1st course was served; 9p 2nd course was served; 930p - main entry was not served until we have to ask for it, it was not even hot that it just came out from the oven, although it was warm enough to be eaten. Champagne not offered even though included in the menu, had to ask for dessert to be taken out because it was after 1030p. There was only 1 waitress taking orders, and few staff removing the used utensils. I mean, it's Valentine's Day, you think the restaurant would have enough people working. Would not recommend this place.
We live in Fresh Meadows and found this spot through open table. We are very happy that we did. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and smile from the hostess Karen. She brought us to our table and told us the daily specials. Soon after our waitress Anna came to help us. She kindly repeated the specials and we tried some of them. The seafood appetizer was fresh and delicious. We tried the specialty black linguini which was full of flavor and the cowboy steak. The steak for an italian restaurant was amazing. Tender and cooked perfectly. It had chipotle style sausage mushrooms and onions on top. This was an award winning meal in our opinion. The portions are huge here, leftovers for sure, and the prices are very reasonable. We were told not to miss out on the dessert so we opted for the peanut butter pie, which was highly recommended. OMG....this peanut butter pie was unbelievable. Creamy, crunchy and all on top of an oreo crust. We joined their email club and look forward to joining the staff and yummy food in the very near future. Highly recommend this spot.
I have to say, that I have driven by this restaurant plenty of times and I finally decided to try it. I must say, I wished I would have tried it years ago. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Karen. A friendly smile and a warm greeting, followed by the specials of the day. We were introduced to our server, Natalie who also greeted us with a smile and a warm greeting. We went with Karen's recommendation for an appetizer...phenomenal. I then decided to go with one of the entree specials of the day, a three fish oreganata, featuring tilapia, swordfish and shrimp in a white wine sauce. I also had the whole wheat penne pasta in garlic and oil....delicious. To finish the meal we had the homemade carrot cake with a complimentary after dinner drink. I would highly recommend this jewel in Bellerose and I will definitely be back!!
The place was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Awesome service. The manager Karen was very sweet. She told us the specials and her recommendations were on the money. Octopus was tender and the risotto so creamy with a delicious mound of baby shrimp. Coconut custard and the peanut butter pies were both amazing. This is a place not to be missed. They have lots of classic Italian dishes and some not so conventional Italian. Loved it.
We had a family dinner here last night, multigenerational. The owners and wait staff were attentive, the food choices were varied and excellent. The entire family was able to dine leisurely and enjoy each other's company from beginning to end in a comfortable warm setting where other families/friends were enjoying birthday dinners. The "restaurant month" special was $29.95, a great value with a broad selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in this area.
We were greeted by the Owner, Karen. She was SO nice and very friendly and accommodating. There were 4 of us. We started with appetizers.... Baked clams, Fried Calamari, and meatballs. They came out on very large platters and the portions were huge! Each dish was excellent. The sauce on the meatballs tasted like it was prepared by my Grandmother! We also each ordered a main course. I wasn't sure what I chicken dish I should get. the Owner suggested something and I said yes. So glad that I did. Not sure of the name of it, but it was outrageous. And the spinach and potato that came with it, was out of this world Delicious! My husband and his friend at a seafood medley with pasta . They loved it. My friend had the cowboy steak and she also enjoyed it. And we all took food home. The servings were that big where we all had another meal the next day! YUMMY! :) Thanks for a Fantastic meal. Can't wait to go back even though it's almost an hour away!
