Trattoria Lisina Ratings and Reviews
We went on a busy Saturday night and had reservations. We arrived early and were seated right away. We had split an appetizer, drank iced teas, each ordered a special, had shared a dessert, and both had delicious coffee. Service was great and food was excellent.
The restaurant was comfortable, not crowred.
Our server was informative and friendley.
When the food came and we saw our plate, it was well prepared and elegant.
When we taste our food, we knew we were coming back.
I will recomend Trattoria Lisina to anybody and to everyone.
Wonderful venue for a nice dinner out or a special occasion. Restaurant sits adjacent to vineyard and has a great outdoor patio. Bit of a hike from Austin (about 20-30 minutes depending) but worth it.
Restaurant knew in advance of occasion (wedding anniversary) and had prepared a special table in a cozy part of the restaurant. Staff was very attentive. Food was authentic and tasty, wine is all Italian.
Definitely worth a shot.
Not impressed with the food. Cold lasagna and the steak presentation was awful. Steak was ordered Medium, it was set in top of the potatoes... problem was that the blood from the very bland steak basically turned the mash potatoes into a bloody sponge! Asparagus Was not cooked at all. Now dessert, the chocolate cake was a rock! Tasted like it sat there for 2 days. The restaurant itself is very nice.
I have been eating there for years, and generally enjoyed each dinner. On this occasion, I had a 5 pm reservation on the Eve of Valentine's. The restaurant had three other tables occupied at the time. The hostess, who did not acknowledge us until the bartender did, treated us just like a walk-in and sat us right next to the kitchen. I politely asked for another table. She responded that "the restaurant had a lot of reservations." to which I responded, one of which is ours. She did not address my comment or the fact that we wanted a better table, and simply walked off. I wanted to leave, but recognized the look in my girlfriend's eyes. I took a breath and weighed the cost of exiting on principle, the possible argument that may occur, and after driving from New Braunfels in the rain for our Valentine's Dinner, my options were limited. Thankfully, our server, who was very good, saw what happened, took some initiative, and moved us closer to the fireplace after conferring with a manager.
I own a restaurant. I hate seeing things like this. It makes me feel like I am at work and legitimately irritates me. I have noticed this trend in restaurants where the hostess is generally the weakest link in the store, and disconnected from the subtleties associated with her title, or the result of her actions. It colors the entire experience, because she greets the guests upon their arrival, sets the tone for dinner, and then she is the last person one see's as they exit. By the way, she did not say "goodbye" or acknowledge us in any way, as we left. I still enjoyed myself, mainly due to the efforts of my server, some good management and the general culture of that restaurant. I am picky about my Manhattans too, and even enjoyed them. The food was good and the other elements of my service were exactly what I have come to expect from this restaurant; and, precisely what any restaurant owner should demand of their staff and management team.
It was a very busy evening. The large table ahead of us took a little longer than they should have so we had to wait a little past our reservation time. We enjoyed ourselves at the bar. Barkeep was knowledgeable and poured some fine drinks. The food was amazing. Best filet I’ve had in a long time. The grilled asparagus was on point. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food except for the vegan. But that’s her issue. We will be back. Without the vegan if we have to.
We have dined at Trattoria Lisina a number of times over the years, and it has always been exceptionally good, and has never disappointed us. It is not inexpensive, but the excellence of its offerings still makes it a good value. On our most recent visit for dinner on 2/9/18, Trattoria Lisina’s food, service and ambiance were up to their usual standard of excellence. This remains the superior dining experience within a 35 or 40 mile radius.
Trattoria has become one of our favorite special occasion places.
The food is always excellent, our server, Nikki, Was attentive without being intrusive, and the ambiance is always good.
The best surprise is that the steak is fantastic, something that I didn't expect in an Italian restaurant.
Excellent food and wine and great service from our waiter Shawn who gave recommendations that were spot on.
We sat by the kitchen and found this to be a good spot where the noise was low in a very busy restaurant and we could hear each other’s conversation.
The Restaurant is without question worth the drive. The ambiance was more then i could hope for to impress a very special lady. Miles our waiter suggested the salad and the main course, which by the way, was not on the menu, and without a doubt the best I have ever eaten. We will always ask for Miles when we go back. We laughed and joked with him the entire meal. Cost for that food was not enough.
We always enjoy our visits. Never a bad experience, and Matt always makes certain we are completely taken care of. Jacob did an exceptional job waiting on us during our last visit. We thoroughly enjoy the staff and the food here each time we come. We feel like guests, not customers.
As always, Trattoria Lisina never fails to impress. I love bringing friends here (to "the middle of nowhere" as they put it) and watch their faces as they see the place and experience the wine list, the great menu and the outstanding service. Our waiter, Connor, is amazing. Friendly, very engaged and knows EVERYthing about the wine list and about each wine. Outstanding!!
An authentic gem in the Hill Country. Beautiful property, excellent decor inside the restaurant. The waitstaff and hostess were professional and the food was incredibly good. I took my family their on a Saturday night, and the place was hopping. But still we were expertly greeted, seated and waited on. The food was served in a timely manner and the quality of food was as mentioned, excellent. We tried many different dishes; Several appetizers, a Snapper special order, Oso Bucco, several desserts and coffees...Everything was prepared and plated professionally.
