Good food, nice service. The music however was too loud so it was difficult to talk over dinner. I feel this restaurant is lost between trying to be a fine dining, casual italian "cafe trottoir", and a pub. It needs to decide.
First time in all the years we go to this trattoria that the food was “ok”, it really felt like fast fast, the chicken parm had only like 10 pieces of penne and my seafood pasta wasn’t like before.
So delicious!! Went with a group and we all found something delicious. Especially loved the wine and the outstanding appetizers!
It was my first time back there in almost 2 years and food was amazing but I felt extremely rushed by the waitress. We got there at 8:15, ordered a bottle of wine, appetizer and two pastas to share and everything got to the table at the same time, they didn't course the food, we also had to ask for the bread. As I understand as a business point that they have to flip the table, they were 3 empty tables around us. we had to take the bottle of wine to go since we felt so rushed and were out by 9:10. 55 minutes for a "dinner" experience. probably won't be back.
Just awful experience. Everything was off, wait time, attitude of servers and food were all awful. Will not be returning.
Called ahead and asked for a nice table - lucky to have had that honored. Also called ahead for a birthday dessert to be brought to the table as a surprise. This never happened which was disappointing.
Food is excellent, nice variety and very authentic. Wine selection is also very nice.
it was good, quite overpriced for what it is tho (I agree on others for this one). The food is amazing (note on the carbonara: don't add anymore cheese as it renders it too salty). we enjoyed our dinner.
Server service was horrible.
Outstanding evening, great food and ambiance
Good food, good service, keep on going back!
We ended up not eating here because they sat us in the basement which was crowded dark and musty smelling. Not the experience we were looking for. We left so I can’t really comment on service and food. Assume it was good. It was the ambience that killed it for us.
Restaurant was alttle warm inside and had very loud obnoxious music at the bar.didnt except that from an Italian restaurant.pasta was very good bread was delicious but the stuffed squash blossoms were just ok .outside had nothing special no candles, umbrellas no ambience. Other restaurants had alot more.they were very accommodating when i wanted to more from my lopsided table that my wine glass slid off of.we moved to bar.owner was very nice.
Super cool dining experience with amazing authentic Italian dishes. Lobster ravioli was amazing!
This was my 2nd time here, this time my daughter, wife and dad joined. The place was packed but we were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered 2 apps, and 3 main dishes. The apps came out so quickly! Under 10 minutes! AND it was piping hot and delicious. The main courses were superb. We went next door for ice cream and had a wonderful Sunday dinner. There is still so much on the menu, we're coming back for a 3rd visit.
Truly one of the best Italian meals and espresso martinis I have ever had. The waiter had amazing suggestions on what to eat. Would absolutely eat here again.
The food here was excellent. All four of us thought our dinners were outstanding. Both the tomato sauce and the carbonara were on point. Sidewalk traffic is thick but that is no fault of the restaurant. The servers deserve gold medals for navigating the crowds!
My favorite restaurant ever. Fresh pasta, and the most delicious Italian food in Boston.
It was only okay. Excellent espresso martini, though. Chicken parm is not the best I’ve had in the North End. The pasta also was not homemade, which is why I gave fewer stars. The waiter also was not the most attentive. Hoping to give it more stars when I go back the next time!
Extraordinary. Best in the North End.
Mostly delicious food and great service in the heart of the North End. All four of us loved our mains (ossobuco, spaghetti carbonara, mushroom ravioli and lobster ravioli) but were less impressed with our apps (mussels and calamari). We scored a table on the street and enjoyed the buzz of a Friday night in the North End.
Best Italian food I’ve had. Quick and friendly service. Highly recommend to anyone looking for highest quality Italian food.
They sat us outside and it started raining. Our server was quick to move us inside and continued the great service. Would definitely go again.
First time eating here…..we ate outside on sidewalk ( OUR request)..that was just OK….bad decision by me…other than that….it was OUTSTANDING!…..we ordered a delicious dressed Bib Lettuce salad, the Catch of the Day, and I asked for a dish of spaghettini w/ ammatriciana sauce. My wife and I shaired the two dishes…….they both were SO DELICIOUS.
Our drinks were perfect and our waiter Piero was outstanding…..a fellow Sicilian who spoke the language beautifully and didn’t push ANYTHING on us!…..BRAVO Trattoria Il Panino!!
The food is always good here. They did forget to bring out the zucchini flower appetizer that I ordered but everything else was great.
This was an unforgettable experience! It was crowded, so glad we had a reservation! The service was top notch! The shrimp limoncello was outstanding! I felt like I was on the Amalfi coast!!! The wine was perfect with the pasta special with scallops and lobster!! I will come back next time we are in Boston!!!
Great food! Took a little while for service but the food made up for it. Lasagna was amazing! The charcuterie board was sooooo good!!!
Amazing food, best in the north end.
Delicious food, service was eh. They wanted us in and out — you could tell. Busser was a bit pushy and rude. Overall, great food and great ambience on their outdoor seating. Will go back.
I LOVED the cocktail menu! The espresso martinis were to dye for and the food was fabulous, just make sure you come hungry! Finally the tiramisu was delicious.
We loved sitting in the small lower room. Quaint and romantic. The food was outstanding in taste.
The closest thing to Italia I’ve had in the states. It brought me back home…. 🥰
Birthday was great!
Estaba muy rico y el lugar es muy lindo, nos gustó mucho.
Great food, great value decent service and lively.
We were very excited to eat hear as we were visiting Boston and this place was suggested by multiple friends, however we were pretty disappointed by the overall experience. First of all, we were put at a cramped table right by the kitchen/side entrance. We were probably a foot away from the other tables, it was so dark (I Understand setting an ambiance, but being able to see the person you're eating with would be nice), and so loud/busy from the kitchen. It seemed like we were just thrown into front entrance area that wasn't actually meant for tables. We were also charged incorrectly on our bill, but we were able to clear that up. I would still recommend this place to a friend as the food was great, and I'm hoping our experience was a one off thing.
Super disappointing: mediocre food, surprisingly rude staff (and owner)…. Bummer.
Good food, good service, and good atmosphere right in the heart of the North End
Top notch - great food, great service
Food was very good but the service was lacking. Our appetizers and entree were brought at the same time. The waiter never came back to our table after taking our order to check to see if we needed anything. They made us feel it was more important to move us out of the restaurant quickly than to serve us well. It was too bad because the food was very good.
