Breaded chicken topped with imported mozzarella and marinara, served with penne
Wild mushrooms, black truffle cream
Golden crispy fried squid
Perfect day to sit outside and enjoy some great food.
Food was good, but the bread was disappointingly/unexpectedly cold and hard
Disappointed in the fried calamari. Frozen not fresh
Excellent service and food. We sat under heater which was uncomfortable for a few in our party. Still great overall though!
It was delicious, cozy and friendly staff. I'd definitely go back! Very yummy!
My uncle was visiting and I had to take him to one of my favorite places in the North End before he left town. Generous and delicious portions along with super nice waitstaff will always have me coming back here. The carbonara and gnocchi were delicious!
the food was delicious. However, the service not so good. it could be because it was a packed Sunday night but everything else was great!
Recommendations: penne a la vodka.
Wonderful food and ambiance! Definitely get the shrimp appetizer with lemon sauce!!!
They use paper napkins, overwhelming busy thus little attention to the customers. Staff running around line crazy wisking by the table - no chance to ask them for anything. They don’t offer grated cheese and stated they do not serve dessert. Reasonably priced for the North End.
The food was fabulous. I wanted to try something new and the waiters’ recommendations did not disappoint. My husband wanted something that was not on the menu and the chef gladly made it for him.
Food was solid but not exceptional. We got the meatballs and Caesar salad for appetizers, and I had the gnocchi alla sorrentina as my entree. The service was lacking, understandably so given recent restaurant staffing issues, but our waitress never came to check on us after we put in our order and we had to wave her down multiple times to order drinks, get the check, etc. I would go back but maybe not on at a peak time like a Friday/Saturday evening.
Such great carbonara and awesome ambiance, I will keep coming back!
The food was served in a pot and wasn't even hot. It was very poor quality, and tasteless. The place was packed and very noisy, the tables were stainless steel with plastic glasses for water. I can't think of one positive quality. So disappointed
First time to North end seemed like a lot of better places to eat. Ambience was not great. Plastic cups for water. Service was ok. Had chicken parm plate was hot but sauce had no flavor til I added salt pepper and crushed red pepper.
Generous portions of delicious food. The veal was HUGE. The food was all so tasty and the wait staff was amazing. Highly recommend for a nice meal!
Trip to Boston, everything was great
We frequented Trattoria often when we lived here so naturally when we came back to visit for the first time since moving it did not fail to impress. I dream of their lasagna, there’s nothing else like it. Good is amazing, service is amazing, ambiance is amazing. One of the best in the North Wnd by far.
The best tortellini I’ve ever had! Excellent service!
Loved sitting outside and enjoying the view and hustle and bustle of the north end. Wine selection was fantastic. The artichoke hearts left something to be desired, but the cacio de Pepe was the best we’ve ever had. The chicken parm was a classic and great as well! Service couldn’t have been better. I loved in the north end for years and find this place above and beyond the usual traps like Giacomos.
We had an excellent time. We had a 7:30 reservation however there was a great deal of traffic and no valet parking So we were a bit late after looping back around to the Haymarket garage where they validate parking. When we arrived our table was not quite ready but there were three seats at the bar and we elected to take those. Bartender was great. Excellent cocktails, always kept our water full. I was disappointed they were out of zucchini flowers that just goes to show how amazing they actually are. For advertisers we share the Buffalo mozzarella caprese in the limoncello shrimp which are amazing. We had a different handmade pasta. I had the gnocchi sorrentina which was light and delicious as usual. Another diner had the coce pepe what was buttery, peppery and delicious and my husband had the carbonara what he said was amazing. What a great bottle of red and finish the nights off with small taste of limoncello. Couldn't have been a better experience for my birthday
Food was okay but not hot at all, comes out in a skillet, but barely Luke warm, disappointing.
We sat right away, given a choice of inside or outside seating, chose outside. Service was very quick, friendly, professional. We started with the Octopus Salad and Caprese, Excellent! Finished with the Fruti De Mara and Mom's Ragu, both were incredible. Il Panino is a staple in the North End and NEVER disappoints.
Very cozy(tight)quarters…. Sound level was so high we could hardly hear our conversation, server had a difficult time as he could not reach all of us at the table, food was good but have had better.
Fruti de Mar
Mushroom Ravioli B+
The veal Osso bucolic was great.
The fried calamari was rubbery.
Service was spotty. We had to ask for bread.
Attitude was questionable.
Enjoyed a bottle of the "Luma", the meatballs for an appetizer, and the carbonara and cacio e pepe entrees. The meatballs were subtle, but the pastas were phenomenal. Would recommend Il Panino to anyone, especially my Italian friends visiting the States.
Good food, excellent neighbor
Excellent host seated right away outside first experience out since this all started thank you
Excellent restaurant. We went for a casual lunch. Great setting, relaxed pace and all of the food was fresh and prepared with excellent results.
We made reservations weeks ago but had to wait at the bar for a table, only to be seated at a table in the bar. Very noisy so we couldn’t even have a conversation. I had veal which was very large but nothing was derby with it. Friend had lamb rack which was salty other friends ha gnocchi which was okay. Calamari alleyways chewy!
The service wasn’t good at all we had to wait with a reservation and then was put in the basement which was so loud I had a headache for hours after the only save and grace was the food
We were visiting from Louisiana and this restaurant came recommended. I can’t express enough how much we all enjoyed our dinner
We had a great time and would recommend. Service and ambience was great. Only barrier to 5 stars was a rather ordinary gnocchi my spouse ordered. It was fine but nothing you can't get elsewhere nearby. On the other hand, my puttanesca was outstanding.
The food was not at all what we had expected, based on reviews we had read we expected better.
But the service was terrible. We were seated well after our reservation time, that we could normally forgive. Our waiter couldn’t have cared less that we were there. It took him a good 10 minutes to come over, he never asked if we would like anything to drink, did not offer to tell us about specials, gave as little information as possible when asked questions about the menu and never checked on us once the food arrived. When offering parmigiana cheese he literally threw it on top of our plates. He turned an evening we had been looking forward to into an unpleasant meal. What a shame.
It was so busy, due to marathon, but service was fantastic and food delicious!
They were very busy, so take this with a grain of salt....One of us was served their dinner in a frying pan. Don't know if this is the standard operating or if they were out of dishes. Was strange nevertheless. Had trouble getting drink refills, but again they were very busy that evening.
Smelled heavily of fabulosos cleaner . During our meal a rat walked across the floor it was under our table at one point, everyone from 3 tables went running out and the restaurant couldn’t have cared less.
Thank you. Wonderfully delicious. Fantastic dining.
Second time dining here, it was so good - amazing food, great wine, our server was professional and quick even with it being so busy on a Saturday night. Always wonderful per usual
