Trattoria Il Panino
and back of the house form a desirable marriage. The entrance on 260 Hanover street has a full liquor license.
Fantastic food with reasonable pricing and a great wine selection. Good vibes and always has pleasant servers who do their job well. Would recommend 10/10
It's our favorite stop in Boston! Never miss it! If you are lucky enough to get David as your waiter consider yourself fortunate!
Food is off the charts good. However, it is extremely loud and cramped and they rush you through.
It was fantastic! The food was so delicious! Can’t wait to go back
Great very goood!! The food comes in big portions
The restaurant recently had a fire and is currently under reconstruction on one side. We did not know that when we arrived. There was no full bar service and we ended up eating in the basement level. Not ideal.
Yummy food! Amazing lobster ravioli, squash blossoms, and rigatoni! We were seated downstairs, which was not the best.
This is little Italy during the marathon weekend and usually the Boston Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox are in town playing games as well. The town is busy. We had reservations but still had to wait a bit. The portions are very generous but my pasta was a little too al dente for my liking. I liked the flavor. The value for the money was average. The service was great. The waiters were very attentive.
As was overheard in the restaurant: "People come here for the food, not the service!" This is so true! The food was incredible and the atmosphere was lively and delightful. Yet the service was not great. Food made up for this and I hope to return soon. Portions were large enough to share on the pasta dishes.
The food was fine but we were seated in the basement and the noise was a dull roar that made it hard to talk which kinds of ruins a dinner out with your family. Our waiter said it was not normal.
Super fun dining experience. Wonderful food and great waitress. Will gladly dine again in the future.
It was great
Waiter wasn’t very friendly and food was okay for the price. Great calamari!
The food and the service were exceptional. We sat on the heated covered patio and it was very noisy, but no where near enough of a detractor compared to how great the food was to keep me from going back. Everyone in my party that asked for a recommendation from the waiter was very pleased with their meal.
Outstanding all around. We were 30 min late due to traffic and they held our table on a busy Friday night. Service and food could not have been bettef
Great food. Horrible service. They routinely forgot or incorrectly made dishes. On top of that, our server was routinely rude to us.
they got our two entrees mixed up and we got the correct veggies/sides but the wrong type of meat
Loved this place! Loved the pasta!!!! Would recommend to anyone
It seems that they were not ready for our reservation. They put a make shift table at the bottom of the stairs. Because the table does not typically go there, there were servers, bussers, patrons constantly walking by our table, taking sharp turns and occasionally bumping in to myself and date.
Food was great, very flavorful. Gave a good amount. My husband and I shared the momma Quattro, had a salad and appetizer. It was plenty. A little noisy, but we sat under the tarp. Service was fast, but we didn’t feel rushed.
Trattoria II Panino was absolutely incredible. I brought my grandparents here when they came to visit and the waitress and all the chefs were so friendly, speaking in Italian with my family, answering all of our questions and making sure we had everything we needed (without being overbearing like in other restaurants). On top of it all, the food was incredible. The North End has a lot of great places to eat and this one is at the top of the list!
Overall my husband and I enjoyed our experience at Trattoria il Panini. We are older but felt like we were on a date. The staff was great and treated us well. I enjoyed my Ravioli stuffed with lobster and crabmeat although the super rich sauce didn't agree with my tummy. My Boston Bib salad was delicious as was the dressing. Would suggest more lighter and less rich options for those of us who cannot handle rich food.. Really excellent experience overall, though.
After getting through the front door, all was great....
Very much enjoyed the experience! Service and Food were great!!
Quaint, efficient , tasty place... will go back again
Delicious food and charming, attentive staff.
I had such a hard time ordering because everything looked so good on the menu! I ultimately went with the ravioli porcini and my SO had the lasagna. I LOVED the porcini and highly recommend it! The sauce that it's cooked in is creamy, cheesy, and absolutely delightful!
Best Italian in the city! Run here don't walk. Its so good !
Food was excellent. Service, if possible, was even better.
Always a great meal here. Reservations recommended a week in advance if you are dining on the weekend.
The food is wonderful. They are able to get the food out so quickly.
There was food in my pasta.
We love this place because it is the best value for the quality of food that you get in the North End. The waiters are always nice and personable. We love the atmosphere.
It was so cold I could not take off my jacket.
The Ravioli and the Truffle pasta was amazing. The environment of this restaurant is very social but intimate at the same time. Service is excellent. 100% recommended!
Food was great! I think they must be remodeling the original restaurant because we would seated in a closed up garage which was closed. Our waiter seemed preoccupied with other tables. But the food was good
Had a wonderful time celebrating birthday with family over a great meal and great service. Thank you!
Everything about the restaurant the food and the service was exceptional we will definitely go back again and we will also recommend that our friends go there as well
We never got to eat there! We turned up for our 8.30 reservation to find a huge queue outside and there were people there still waiting for their 7.45 and 8.00 reservations. The woman on the door was useless with flippant remarks about saying she could lie about the time it would take if we wanted. With freezing temperatures and looking at realistically a 1 hour wait outside we Gabe up. We later found out half the restaurant had been shy since February due to a fire. I suggest they take less reservations until it is fixed! Shocking behavior from a restaurant
