Excellent service, food was delicious. I celebrated my birthday and they made it very special.
food is good...but has gotten very expensive! Ambience is very nice. I think there is better Italian food for the price or even less costly.
The waiters are very very nice. They give little things for free like some cheese, and fried zucchini before the meal, and some limoncello at the end.
The food is excellent but pretty expensive - the appetizers start at in the $20 range. So go there for special occasions - or more often is money is no object for you.
Fantastic. Great food and excellent service.
Second time at this restaurant and the meal was once again most enjoyable. The friends with us had not been before but left quite impressed. Also, learned of other locations that will be worth trying. Look forward to my next visit.
Amazing every time! One of my fave in NYC!
Great food and service
A little disappointed this time. Food was only ok and for the prices they charge, the food has to be great. Our server was a bit aloof. We have gone several times before and this was subpar to what we were accustomed to for them. Maybe just a bad night? But tough to justify those prices unless everything is excellent.
Not a trip to NYC without dinner here. Absolutely hands down one of the best restaurants. Attention to detail, exquisite meals, ambience etc. The pasta and seafood is top notch and always so fresh. The grappa is fantastic and always such a great way to end the meal. The wait staff is so attentive. Will be back next time in NYC !!
This was just about the worst dining experience we have had in many years. We were seated on time for an 8:30 reservation and then things declined precipitously. We never got a straight story but apparently the kitchen was in chaos. Supposedly there was a private party for 40 people and the kitchen could not handle the large group and the rest of a restaurant at full capacity. It took over an hour for two of four appetizers to appear and they were not very good. Twenty minutes later the other appetizers showed up, a freezing cold and flavorless Caesar salad, we are pretty sure our waiter made it himself. We got a free round of drinks only when we asked. After waiting over an hour more for entrees, we left. And we were told they cancelled that order, without telling us! All around us other customers were having similar issues. Waiter and manager were beside themselves, we were not charged for anything and were offered a complimentary dinner any time, but despite our frequenting this place several times before, I expect we will not return. We had an absolutely miserable evening and wound up at L’Express at 11:00 PM because we were starving. Thank you Trattoria Il Mulino for a miserable evening. Would give zero stars if possible.
Ate very early, so was super quiet, with wonderfully attentive service. Prices are less than at Il Mulino on 3rd St, but still pricey. Worth it for most dishes, though!
Roomier than the others but classier - terrific meal
Excellent in every way. Can’t wait to return
Always enjoy celebrating my birthday when in NYC the world excellent team there. Even their singing Happy Birthday is as special as the wonderful service. Thanks
I was meeting with a friend who I had not seen for some time and so requested a quiet table when I made the reservation. We were completely accommodated - even afforded a larger table at a quieter section of the restaurant. The host was welcoming and friendly as was the wait staff.
Trattoria Il Mulino was worth every single penny spent! Amazing food, attentive staff, and a great atmosphere!
Disappointed in the food, both appetizer and entree. Alex our waiter was good, noise level is high, and shell fish entree are way over priced, nothing special, will not repeat.
Waiter was rude and condescending to my teenage daughter and her friend who went there by themselves to celebrate a bday. Obviously if you are not spending money on alcohol they have no interest in being courteous. Charged them for bottled water when they asked for tap, and when they complained about the bill the waiter gave them a hard time. Girls felt upset and disrespected. Disgusting behavior. I will not be going there any more with my husband or business clients.
LOvely restaurant
Excellent service
Good but not superlative food
Greatly overpriced
The food was excellent and the service was even better. Very nice atmosphere and they make you feel at home.
Quiet and charming
Simply spectacular. Excellent food and service. We will definitely return
Went for a friends birthday dinner and had great service and amazing food. They sat us at a large round table (which I prefer for groups) and were extremely attentive. The food is delicious too!
The service was amazing. The food delicious. We enjoyed everything about the restaurant.
I had a lovely dinner with my son. The food was fresh, hot and delicious!! The staff was wonderful! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food and service, the only thing if i might have to say was Entre took much longer than we expected. Understand it was on Friday and kind of busy night, however, thought 50 minutes was little too long, wasn't it. Other than that, food was absolutely amazing, and service was nice and kindly, didn't had chance to taste wine, but will do it when I visit back soon in the future, can't wait.
I have been to the other two restaurants in NYC but it was my first time at this location. Food was delicious and we were treated like family with wonderful, warm and friendly service. At the end they give you grapa. Cannot wait to go back.
We went for Restaurant week. Lovely place delicious food and great service. Would definitely go back again
Dinner was delicious but we did need to wait an extra half an hour at the bar even though we had a reservation. Noise level was very high and we found it to be a bit pricey.
Food just not that good, better restaurants in area
Consistently amazing!
Food was really good but the service was sub-par. My guest was already at the bar so the hostess requested that I get my guest at the bar and come back to the hostess stand. Once seated, we received a drink menu. One. No food menu or anything else. Then the server didn’t get back to take our orders for another 15 mins. After we finally placed our order and wine, I didn’t receive my wine until another 15 minutes... when I had to remind the server about my wine. Left a bad impression on the entire experience. It was supposed to be a promotion celebration but the service made it lackluster.
Visited for the first night of restaurant week 2018. Both the food and service were exceptional. Pay the extra fee for the filet mignon - it is worth it!
Great service and ambiance. Authentic Italian food...everything was delicious. Highly recommend the salmon. Great service and kind staff!
Food was good, service was solid, but pricing was ridiculously high. On a Sat night at 8pm, it was pretty empty, which created a pretty lame atmosphere and made us feel like the only suckers paying a fortune for Italian food in a city where good Italian food is plentiful. Hard to justify their way off-market pricing.
New Years celebrations
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. From the initial greeting with a compliment of cheese, bruschetta and veggies to the finish with delicious desserts. Our waiter was attentive and was truly invested in our dining experience. The pastas were fantastic. We ordered the “Italian Flag” as an appetizer for the table. It was recommended by the waiter and consisted of three different pasta dishes. The only negative was the lamb osso buco, which was a BIG disappointment. The waiter highly recommended it and it was tough. The waiter did the right thing though, as he did not charge us for it and gave us dessert on the house . Our dining experience for our son’s birthday will be remembered!
First time here -OVERPRICED -Horrible service! -Won't go backl !
It was odd. We entered a restaurant that was half-filled -- lots of open tables. And the management asked us to wait in the bar. We waited for ten minutes. When I finally approached the management about this he offered no explanation and offered to seat us shortly. We waited another five minutes and then were seated. It was very strange.
Once our waiter greeted us all was okay. But I don't think I'd ever go back here...It just felt very disrespectful...
Old world Italian opulence meets contemporary style at Trattoria Il Mulino. Our lunch was very special with amazing food and service.
