Trattoria i Trulli in Encinitas, CA is proud to offer high quality, wholesome food to people in the area. The eatery also has a range of wines from which you can choose on the menu. Some of the great antipasti on the menu include the bruschetta, filet mignon, fried eggplant, calamari, smoke salmon, fried eggplant, fresh fruit and more.
Trattoria i Trulli has quite a few pasta options, too. You can enjoy the ravioli, lasagna, penne, rigatoni, fettucine and linguini. Fish and meat options are available on the menu, as well. Do not forget to have something sweet to finish off your meal at Trattoria i Trulli.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant - started off with the calamari and zucchini appetizer and then had the veal chop which was delicious - prices are quite reasonable for the type and quality of food ...
Good food. Good service. Spinach salad with the rabbit is great.
exceptional service, great wine selection, wonderful food
Consistently good food and service
This is my go to restaurant whenever I am in north county SD. It is a treat I look forward to every time.
Outstanding food, comfortable environment and great wait staff.
The go to place in Encinitas for excellent Italian food. Excellent
Super busy as expected since we were dining on Valentine’s Day. We loved our server and the food was good.
We arrived 5 minutes late for our 2:30 reservation and were told they close at 2:30! Why would they have set-up Open Table to allow a 2:30 reservation? Two chef's had already left. The host had no sense of customer service.
The food is always amazing
Very nice, good staff
Wonderful! Coming from an Italian and previous Italian restaurant owner, this restaurant is absolutely wonderful from staff, thanks Jacob and Quinn, through the meal to birthday surprise. Our new go to restaurant!
Trattoria I Trulli is one of my favorite restaurants both for location, the ambiance and above all the food and friendly service. I have celebrated several family events there. Most recently I enjoyed the company of my daughter at lunch. I highly recommend Trattoria I Trulli for a just about any dining occasion.
Well prepared and tasty food. Good service. Allowed us to linger well beyond when our plates were cleared. Marvelous to have such a pleasant spot right in the neighborhood.
I have loved Trattoria i Trulli for years, it never disappoints. Prices are reasonable and the food is always delicious. Servers are attentive without hovering. So happy to have such a wonderful Italian restaurant in Encinitas
Fine meal outside with attentive service and great Italian food.
Food was average, and a little expensive. The bread is terrible, just white bread. Only serve beer and wine. Seating is close, so tends to be loud. Service is good.
There are better restaurants within walking distance.
This place is a must for anyone that like italian food. Ifyou don't see it on the menu they will make it for you. It is the best ever.
Amazing. Everyone from the general manager to look at our waiter or outstanding. Great food and ambience
I love this place! Great Italian food, friendly service and reasonable prices.
Food was fine. Nothing memorable. Even the bread was tasteless. Italian restaurant without crusty bread ???
Great restaurant! Just got back from Italy and the food here was authentic. Highly recommend!!
Tried to edit the reservation on Open Table for Birthday but it wasn’t acknowledged at the restaurant.
Jacob and his team always do a great job! Food was great and so was the service
The food was authentic Italian cuisine. The service and ambiance was stellar. Will definitely return!
Spectacular food, great service and cozy. It's right on the main boulevard. Small place so it fills up fast, so best to get there early for lunch. They open at about 11-11:30.
We were a party of 3 & seated quickly in the tiny dining room.
Excellent dinner, wonderful waiters, lovely atmosphere. I had veal saltimbocca, My husband had filet in Barolo demi glacé & Our daughter had chicken stuffed with spinach, asparagus & fresh burrata. We finished with a delicious chocolate mousse. This was seriously delicious Italian!
I've had at least 20 meals here over the years - always excellent, a favorite.
Consistently great food. Very friendly atmosphere. Manager Jacob makes you feel recognized and welcome. Wait staff is exceptional.
I have been coming here for more than a decade and the food and service remain at a high level. Everything across the board is sensational. And we love Andrea the waiter. He makes it fun and always has terrific wine suggestions. Love the place.
The staff is efficient and friendly. Jacob the manager is usually on hand to make a wine recommendation from their nice selection of Italian varietals.
This a small place with a tiny bar, expect a wait if you do not have a reservation.
We go to this restaurant every so often since it is a local neighborhood spot. Food is consistently good (not foodie fantastic), and service is generally excellent. It is small, often crowded and noisy, so if that is not your thing, I would not recommend it. Prices are fair and they are always happy to accommodate requests such as splitting salads (I think they charge a couple of dollars for that). They have a small wine list, but some decent and reasonably priced wines by the bottle or glass.
I went with my wife and two late-teen aged offspring (had reservations) on a VERY busy New Year's Eve. Of course it was crowded and quite noisy, but that was to be expected! They sat us quickly and we experienced exceptional quick service and very good quality food from whole sea bass to pasta and risotto. That is not always the case when you go to restaurants on New Year's Eve, so I commend them on that. The whole family enjoyed the visit and we will continue to return to this local establishment.
Best italian food ever !,..cheaper than flying to Italy , too !
Trattoria I Trulli, Was like being back home. I am Italian and the food is not only American
Authentic, but also Authentic True Italian Food as in Italy. I have traveled there many times and with many of the items it brought me back to my various trips. My favorite starter is the Arancini, light cheesy and delicious. Pastas taste homemade, tho they can lighten up slightly on the sauce, this american idea of drowning pasta in sauces is out of place in this wonderful resturant. Cannoli as good as my mothers. They filll shells right before serving so they are not soggy. Shells crisp and light and filling lightly sweet and very creamy. I have been several times in the past month, I have to say was was put off for a long time by the size of the restaurant, but decided to try it in early evening before it got too crowed and on a nice night where I can sit outside. So happy I did. My only serious criticism is the dipping sauce they seve with the bread, TOO Much Garlic, this is such a rookie mistake, it does not do the restaurant justice. I highly recommend the restuarent, and advise you to make reservations to be assured a seat with no waiting. Forgot to mention service is that of a 5 star fine establishment. Polite, knowledgeable and unabtrusive.
Always excellent. I love the nightly specialities. I had butternut squash ravioli in sage butter. Hubby had a menu staple, Osso bucco. The plate presentation in lovely, food is served at proper temperature. When in the area we always try to stop in and it never ceases to delight this diner.
Our first time there and was very good. The food was excellent and our waiter Lucca was excellent. We ordered salad with pear and very original. Pasta and osso bucco perfectly seasoned.
We keep coming back for more! Feels and tastes like eating in my Grandmother's kitchen - in a very good way...
I had heard so many good things about this restaurant, but it just didn't live up to the hype at all. Service was friendly and attentive - so no complaints there. However, i ordered the lobster ravioli based on the waiter saying it was a restaurant favorite and it was barely "fair". The raviolis are unsealed - so it's a sheet of pasta that has filling added at the time it is ordered - and then smothered in a heavy, flavorless, saffron sauce. The filling was dry and tasted more like ground fish than lobster. My husband ordered the tournado that was cooked properly. It was served with spaghetti (in olive oil?) and veggies. Good but nothing special.
We met our friends for lunch. Our first visit and we were not disappointed. Our server Bryan B. was friendly and extremely knowledgable of the menu and history of the entrees and decor. He provided excellent service throughout our meal. Our entrees were fresh and delicious and prepared to our liking, the Spaghetti Carbonara a delight. An extensive wine list is also available. It was not crowded this day but could be if the restaurant is full as it is rather compact with the tables being so close together. Parking can be a challenge. There are a few spaces reserved in a lot on the north side of the restaurant.
I love Trattoria I Trulli!
Super happy that I can now make a reservation on open table! The food is always fantastic and the waiters are really amazing! We were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary and it was great!
Best in class in the area. Not gourmet but good local restaurant
