We were a party of 3 & seated quickly in the tiny dining room.
Excellent dinner, wonderful waiters, lovely atmosphere. I had veal saltimbocca, My husband had filet in Barolo demi glacé & Our daughter had chicken stuffed with spinach, asparagus & fresh burrata. We finished with a delicious chocolate mousse. This was seriously delicious Italian!
We go to this restaurant every so often since it is a local neighborhood spot. Food is consistently good (not foodie fantastic), and service is generally excellent. It is small, often crowded and noisy, so if that is not your thing, I would not recommend it. Prices are fair and they are always happy to accommodate requests such as splitting salads (I think they charge a couple of dollars for that). They have a small wine list, but some decent and reasonably priced wines by the bottle or glass.
I went with my wife and two late-teen aged offspring (had reservations) on a VERY busy New Year's Eve. Of course it was crowded and quite noisy, but that was to be expected! They sat us quickly and we experienced exceptional quick service and very good quality food from whole sea bass to pasta and risotto. That is not always the case when you go to restaurants on New Year's Eve, so I commend them on that. The whole family enjoyed the visit and we will continue to return to this local establishment.

Authentic, but also Authentic True Italian Food as in Italy. I have traveled there many times and with many of the items it brought me back to my various trips. My favorite starter is the Arancini,light cheesy and delicious. Pastas taste homemade, tho they can lighten up slightly on the sauce, this american idea of drowning pasta in sauces is out of place in this wonderful resturant. Cannoli as good as my mothers. They filll shells right before serving so they are not soggy. Shells crisp and light and filling lightly sweet and very creamy. I have been several times in the past month, I have to say was was put off for a long time by the size of the restaurant, but decided to try it in early evening before it got too crowed and on a nice night where I can sit outside. So happy I did. My only serious criticism is the dipping sauce they seve with the bread, TOO Much Garlic, this is such a rookie mistake, it does not do the restaurant justice. I highly recommend the restuarent, and advise you to make reservations to be assured a seat with no waiting. Forgot to mention service is that of a 5 star fine establishment. Polite, knowledgeable and unabtrusive.
Always excellent. I love the nightly specialities. I had butternut squash ravioli in sage butter. Hubby had a menu staple, Osso bucco. The plate presentation in lovely, food is served at proper temperature. When in the area we always try to stop in and it never ceases to delight this diner.
I had heard so many good things about this restaurant, but it just didn't live up to the hype at all. Service was friendly and attentive - so no complaints there. However, i ordered the lobster ravioli based on the waiter saying it was a restaurant favorite and it was barely "fair". The raviolis are unsealed - so it's a sheet of pasta that has filling added at the time it is ordered - and then smothered in a heavy, flavorless, saffron sauce. The filling was dry and tasted more like ground fish than lobster. My husband ordered the tournado that was cooked properly. It was served with spaghetti (in olive oil?) and veggies. Good but nothing special.
We met our friends for lunch. Our first visit and we were not disappointed. Our server Bryan B. was friendly and extremely knowledgable of the menu and history of the entrees and decor. He provided excellent service throughout our meal. Our entrees were fresh and delicious and prepared to our liking, the Spaghetti Carbonara a delight. An extensive wine list is also available. It was not crowded this day but could be if the restaurant is full as it is rather compact with the tables being so close together. Parking can be a challenge. There are a few spaces reserved in a lot on the north side of the restaurant.
Coworkers and I had been looking for a generic mid-range Italian restaurant and this fit perfectly, except it went above and beyond the generic. The atmosphere was casual enough that our group of 4 felt comfortable. The menu was large, with its fair share of traditional and original creations. For example, a coworker and I both had the Rabbit Lasagna special and it was delicious! (Although I did get a few pieces of 'gristle' here and there.) Portions are large, but not unreasonable. Service was adequate. The wine list has a good range of selections both in taste and price. My only real complaint is that it was very warm where we were sat in the back corner - there was zero airflow.
I would definitely go back here.
We have been coming to I Trulli for years. It never disappoints. We are in heaven when they deliver the bread with their special tomato dipping sauce. Be sure to check out the specials of the day. The current Grilled Octopus appetizer is wonderful. My kids swear that their Minestrone Soup is the best that they've ever had. While we enjoy the entrees, we think that their pastas are the way to go. The portions are generous, so don't be afraid to split appetizers or pastas.
This is the best Italian restaurant in North County, bar none. The place is small and very noisy when it's crowded, but the service is good and the aromas coming out of the place prepare your stomach for a really good meal. The spinach and ricotta ravioli are a favorite, as are the chicken dishes, chicken saronno and chicken 101. Salmon's good too, although I usually order it just grilled instead of with the creamy mustard sauce. Great Eggplant Sorrentino/parmesan.
There is a very narrow cramped patio, but it's right on the sidewalk, good for people watching, and with the great weather here, it's usually nice to be out in the air. On weekends they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait. You won't be sorry. Good wine list too.
Came here for lunch with a friend and we both thought the food was wonderful. The service was very good too. At first I thought it was a bit pricey for lunch, lobster ravioli was $19 and a chicken entree was $17 I believe, but the portions were huge! I do wish it was a little less money at lunch for a smaller portion, but everything tasted wonderful!
How wonderful to be greated by the handsome Italian Andrea! We've been to Italy many times, and the ambience and fun atmosphere set by all there made it feel as if we were home again. Gigantic menu filled with dozens of delicious sounding dishes. A real find!
I brought my mom for a special night out here, and beforehand, I raved to her about the food and ambiance. The ambiance was as I promised, but something has gone wrong with the food. I've eaten here 3 or 4 times, and each time I've been happy. This past experience was just plain bad. I had the tasteless minestrone soup, and pasta primavera. My mom had a seafood pasta dish with white sauce. She said it was lacking flavor, and was not impressed at all. I'm sorry to have to write a bad review, but hope the feedback inspires change in the kitchen.
