Food was decent and the ambience is very contemporary but the noise level was deafening. We had to move outside because it was impossible to have a conversation. Great energy but please turn the volume down.
Service was terrible, food was delicious.
Such a great place, the staff is so accommodating and polite. Definitely coming back. The owner is delicious! 😜
Beautiful restaurant & excellent food. Service was lacking. They brought our main courses while we were still eating our salads. They literally moved plates around & left them. We felt extremely rushed. It was not relaxing at all. It felt like they just wanted to turn the table over. If they have a time limit for each res, they should tell you upfront you have this table for X amount of time. The waiter actually seemed irritated when we ordered dessert.
Our experience was amazing and so was our server Vito, we will look forward to go again!
Being seated indoors was loud and dark like a club. The food was good. The ambience wasn’t great
The food was FANTASTIC and the service was friendly and quick. We ate in the outdoor dining area…. It’s beautiful! Highl recommend this restaurant.
Food was excellent, lasagna and the wedge salad. Good lemonade also. Service was efficient and friendly.
Was very impressed food was amazing and service was 100%
Great romantic restaurant. Pietro & Joe are great hosts. Fun night out for all. Great to have this Italian option in old Town San Diego.
The ambience was so pretty very aesthetically pleasing her, however the food did not match the vibe of the restaurant. The calamari had zero flavoring, the gnocchi came out cold, the pizza was average. The drinks however are very good, our server was doing the best he could however you you can tell that his hands were full with the many other tables he had. However the food is the reason why we will not be back.
Dinner was to celebrate the end of the school year for my daughter and Memorial Day weekend. When we got there, I felt a little out of place with my daughter (she is 11 years old) as it felt like we were at a nightclub because of the loud music. Then another table with two children much younger were seated right next to us.
That un-easy feeling didn’t last too long. We made the best of it and enjoyed our evening. The food and service was good and we had a great time.
Super fun atmosphere and great service! Our waitress was so nice and checked on us frequently. Will definitely go back!
Hadn’t seen my friends in 2yrs and picked this location because it’s trendy and super cute looking. We were seated inside and the music was so loud we we couldn’t have any conversation. I must have said “Excuse me” or “I can’t hear you” about 20x throughout our 1.5hr dinner. I ordered the gnocchi and was so disappointed. I had originally picked the lobster ravioli but the waiter suggested the gnocchi, I should have stuck to what I originally chose. Super cute place for gram pics and cute drinks but the food left me wanting more and salt because everything was insanely under seasoned.
Always the best service & food!
Excellent across the board. No other place in old town can compare. Truly memorable. A must for anyone in San Diego
Food was bland, pricey for the quality but good size portion, service was ok, did not check if we need water during during or anything else.
Everything was exceptional.
I had really high expectations for this place after the much televised publicity. Service was OK, had reservations but had to wait for a table. The server worked really hard to accommodate us, and comped us a dessert in the end. Ate the calamari, salad, pizza, and the Chilean Seabass. The food was ok at best, in my opinion did not live up to the Busalacchi’s reputation.
Wonderful food, service, decor, atmosphere. The pistachio spaghetti was sensational. My friend had the pork chop it was delicious and juicy.
Ravioli had good flavor, however too much sauce not enough substance. I shouldn’t finish my meal in 8 minutes. More pasta please
Well dinner was underwhelming. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely hostess, Destiny. She told us our table would be ready in a few moments. We went to the bar and ordered our drinks from their rookie bartender , Jacob. After a few consultations with a fellow at the bar he brought our drinks. We commented on the upbeat music and finished our drinks and were shown our table. Them restaurant wasn't busy . Our waiter , Roserio arrived and after some chit chat he took our order. This is where things changed . Instead of some light up beat background music it was like we where back in the 70' disco. The volume increased dramatically and the lights started flashing. When we asked about the change we were told the owner was young and that's what he liked. All that noise essentially took away our appetite and when the food arrived we were thankful we didn't have to wait much longer here in Studio 54. We ate and left
The service was great and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back to try other items from the menu.
We absolutely LOVE this place! The staff is amazing. Jacob is our favorite bartender. This place has become a family favorite.
Great experience! Made our reservation and it was on point! We will be back!
It was the KUSI event night and it was awesome. The restaurant was good overall and we really enjoyed it.
Considerations for the owner:
1. I had filet mignon @40 it was a steak, 4 hard carrots that you couldn't cut, and a piece of broccoli. The filet mignon was terrible but I ate it as I was hungry, the table was booked for 8pm and mainly due to the event it was 10pm when the food was served.
2. my wife had the salmon @$27 and it was overcooked, and again the same as above for the vegetables.
3. the bar service was terrible as there was only one full-time and one half-time serving for a big event. The part time guy was giving a couple/friends free drinks and taking shots with them as opposed to serving. The full time guy was awesome coping with working single-handed
4. A 3 sided bar, if you were on the sides you didn't get served, so you had to wait for a space at the center of the long side to have a chance.
Great charity event. Great food. Nice to see people out and about.
The owner was attentive, pleasant, and very hands on - even bussing tables. This was a charity event, and the restaurant was so generous. Excellent spot.
music too loud indoors. with crowd couldnt talk with people across table
We went to a fundraiser at this restaurant. The food was fantastic.
Friendly staff and tasty food. Short braised rib was great.
We went for the first time as a mothers day celebration. The menu was prefixed which was ok for those who like everything but for the one like my daughter who only.limes pasta was a very poor selection. Only one choice so she en up asking for the sauce.on the side and the spaghetti was just butter with pasta for $25, a costly pasta plate. Everything else was good, the cocktail “sexy blond” was good, and my food choices were Excellent and delicious. And desserts were delicious too.
We went for Mother's Day. There was a special limited menu for the day. There wasn't a single kid friendly option and we were told there were no substitutions allowed. Our waitress finally was able to get the kitchen to agree to doing two plates of plain spaghetti. Those cost $20 each. I was disappointed that a specific Mother's Day restaurant menu had no kid friendly options.
We started with the pizza appetizer. The dough was delicious, and the best part of the meal. The sauce was overly sweet. We also ordered parmesan truffle fries. The fries came out limp, and were lacking in both truffle and parm. My wife ordered a glass of red wine and my son and I soft drinks and iced tea. These were ordered with the appetizer. It was the last wine and tea we would receive throughout the meal, as the server never asked if we wanted more over the next hour. My son did receive a refill on his soft drink. For entrees we ordered the spaghetti with pistachio cream sauce, lobster ravioli, lasagna with sugu sauce, and braised short ribs. The spaghetti noodles themselves were nice, but the sauce was thick and flavorless, rather than a nice cream. The lobster ravioli was ok, and the sauce for it was again overly sweet. It also had some shrimp that were added in, but I’m not sure why. The tails were left on the shrimp. The is ok for a Shrimp dish where the shrimp is visible (scampi, grilled shrimp, etc), but not in an opaque thick sauce. The lasagna was so-so with again, overly sweet sauce. For some reason this sauce and the sauce of the lobster ravioli also reminded me of something jarred or canned for some reason. The short rib was just ok. It came with a side of risotto, which was just swimming in the sauce that was poured over the short ribs. Everything was missing salt. There was also no salt on the table. There was also no offer of parmesan. All dishes were either bland or sweeter than they should have been. Our server was nice, but not as attentive as we would have liked. The lack of a second beverage throughout the meal being the main pain point there. We sat outside and the constructed outdoor seating was done very well. The music was modern and a little louder than I would like for a restaurant (I like it loud usually), but maybe it was there attempt to block out street noise. It wasn’t awful, just disappointing.
Was there for Mother’s Day and the food, service, and atmosphere was perfect. The food is great along with a varied variety. Server and staff were all very friendly. Only suggest, turn the music down for indoor dining...a bit too loud. I’ll come back for sure.
NO PARKING 1 PERSON ON VALET FOR PARKING NO ONE WAS HELPING WITH THIS MATTER
DID NOT SIT US CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS!!!!!!
Tim was an excellent server!!! We wanted to try everything but he was able to help us narrow down some amazing choices. We can’t thank you enough Tim!
Had the meatballs, very tasty, could only eat one, enough for lunch the next day. The ambiance is great, sat outside, nice patio. The staff is great, really take care of you. Will be back.
