nice but getting getting a little old looking inside the space
Jeff and his team could not have been more inviting. Very enjoyable and tasty meal.
After waiting to be seated (with reservation), we were seated at table in noisy area with large parties (Christmas season - to be expected to some point). When I asked them for quiet table (as I had on reservation) they got us table upstairs in quiet corner shortly. Very responsive, with a smile, and from there food, service, etc. EXCELLENT
Way too loud!
What a dreadful experience. Noise level in the megadecibels; servers and staff frequently rushing by our table with plates, platters, trays, containers, etc. Our waiter had major attitude, manifested upon his first appearance at our table. A $100 bottle of red wine was ordered and then served in white wine glasses because "red wine glasses are not permitted". Wine was poured on to the rims of the glasses such that the stems and bases are now covered with red wine. No apology - it was simply an indicator of the level of service one should expect at this restaurant. The warm antipasti from the roasted vegetable bar was well past peak condition and served cold. The pizza was reasonably good. The staff appeared to be overwhelmed and in chaos. We were there to celebrate a birthday but it was not the appropriate place to do that. This was not a joyful atmosphere or experience. We ordered our entrees to go and took them to our apartment and opened a bottle of good wine and poured it directly into red wine stems and enjoyed the rest of our meal in style. I'll never return to this restaurant.
Enjoyed an excellent dinner before a Christmas concert at Carnegie Hall. The staff worked like a well oiled machine, managing seating and food service of a fully packed house. Our server, Michelle, was friendly, pleasant, informed and efficient—a real pro. Our meal was excellent. Each of us fully enjoyed our selections, which included tuna carpaccio (outstanding) fried artichoke and avocado and salmon toast apps, with entrees of salmon, tuna and diver scallops that were prepared and presented with culinary skill. We had modest expectations, as the location alone could fill the tables before Carnegie shows. We were thoroughly delighted to discover that this is also one of the best pre theatre meals in Manhattan. We’ll be back.
Love the food. Have been several times and the food never disappoints.
I have been here several times. Food is good.
Only issue was the lack of any real Gluten free entrees. Also at least 2 of our first choices were already sold out at only 7:30 pm.
Delicious food, great service, but incredibly overpriced.
Good pre-theater spot for Carnegie Hall _ which is right across the street - or city Center which is a block and a half away.
but I would tell anyone that I sent there to be ready to over pay for wine........ This was a great place but it would get 5 stars from mwe with one reasonable priced red wine. Drink water next time.
We love Trattoria Dell’Arte and have been here several times for special family dinners. The food is always perfect and the service and staff are top notch. We are always treated fabulously. Highly recommend.
This lunch was exceptionally exceptional: Guy, the Maître d’, made a huge fuss over the 9 year old twins, bringing them many morsels to try ( which they did, and would never have tried at home!) Guy returned many times always encouraging their good behavior and an adventurous pallet- making what is always a pleasant meal at Trattoria Dell’Arte, a super huge successful one !
This staff person is way beyond excellent
The service was terrible
It was amazing! We can’t stop talking how delicious everything was!
Cibo ottimo e buon servizio, prezzo giusto abbiamo trovato una festa aziendale che ha creato scompiglio nella sala e non siamo riusciti ad avere privacy, è comunque un bel ristorante, da tornare
While the meal would have been notable, not a single dish was served warm. Instead of bringing freshly cooked fried asparagus milano and other appetizers, the waiter simply had the kitchen warm them. I don't take fried food home since it doesn't heat correctly for the next day. I feel like this is what the restaurant did. Further, the lasagne was not warm. Cold lasagne is not tasty and with all the Italian restaurants in NYC, I wont go back.
We had a large party visiting NYC for the weekend and this was our last night out. It was just perfect. The food was delectable. Marco our waiter was fantastic. The setting was festive and warm. Everyone loved it and can’t wait to come back. The best pizza, chicken Parmesan and artichoke appetizer to die for. What a wonderful experience. Love love this gem.
As always, fantastic food, service and atmosphere!!!!
Wonderful food service and atmosphere an annual tradition
When we arrived shortly before our reservation time the line to check in was literally out the door with approx. 25 people waiting to check in. They only had one guy working the desk and it took almost 20 minutes to get checked in. They then wanted to seat us in the busy bar area where everyone was waiting in line to check in but we refused. All in all a zoo like atmosphere. Once we got a table in the back of the restaurant everything improved drastically. Server was extremely busy but did a good job and the food was very good.
Fabulous food! You definitely need a reservation especially if there is a show that evening at Carnegie Hall.
Celebrating my birthday
Unless you order the vegetable antipasto this restaurant is ordinary.
It is always a tight squeeze, but the servers have mastered how to provide good service in a place that is packed and busy all the time. Food is always delicious.
Location has a wonderful vibe and excellent service. Food was disappointing and overpriced. The fried artichokes on the Cacio e Pepe were inedible. Cappuccino was excellent. Will give the restaurant another try.
Personal attention: thank you....
To be brief, it simply is not what it used to be. Sad to see it decline. Such a great location at Carnegie Hall.
Always delicious and consistent. We come every time we are here and it is a great experience
Love this restaurant
Food was good. Service was terrible.
Great service and excellent food!
We were quickly checked-in with our reservation. We mentioned we had a show to go to in 1 hour at Carnegie, and they did miracles getting our order on time, so we don't miss the show. Food was delicious, including the lasagna, thin-crust pizza, and Branzino. I will come back with more time another day!
Our daughter performed at Carnegie Hall that evening.
Fantastic atmosphere and great Italian food!!
Favorite pizza! So good. And such an amazing atmosphere. A don’t miss spot.
Best thin crust pizza in the neighborhood. Service is fast and efficient.
Not great for a large group. Very loud and not equipped for such a group, took 25 minutes before we got get wine ordered and it was LOUD.
