Food was delicious as always and the service was above and beyond for a birthday dinner. Truly a wonderful evening where every single server went out of his or her way.
Seriously divine! We went in the later evening on Thanksgiving and we’re pleasantly surprised to find the staff were upbeat, welcoming, and still at the top of their game after such a long day. We had a large party. Some ordered off the menu and several of us got the prix fixe traditional Thanksgiving meal. The food was seriously delicious. The servings were great- not so much you couldn’t eat it all but not so small that you felt like you didn’t get enough or it wasn’t a great value.
We requested a window table in the front because of the noise level and lack of space in the back, which despite being crowded seems very popular. We were given the table we requested, and enjoyed the reduced noise level, extra space and the very consistent, excellent food and service.
Very welcoming and appreciative for patrons. Service was equally warm and welcoming. Food was excellent with several superb holiday items. A lovely restaurant in every respect.
We went here for the Thanksgiving dinner since we were in the city. Phenomenal service, food, all of it. We really enjoyed it.
Bad table for two. Frozen burrata on ravioli. Very low value for money
Never got the food. After 75 minutes, had to leave to make it to a show
Perfect all around! Great food, great service, went w my kids and they loved it too! Nice but not stuffy at all. Great wine selection
We waited for the food more than 40 mins and asked to follow up a couple time. We ordered pepperoni pizza and don't know why it turn our too sweet.
Nice to hear Polish!
It’s a favorite. A tradition we have been going to Trattoria for 15 years the night before Thanksgiving and we live in FL and Chicago.
The food and service were fantastic!
It was our anniversary and from the moment we walked in, they made us feel like royalty (or family!) with complimentary champagne and many well wishes. Our dessert came with a sparkler in it which made it even more special. The food was outstanding and home made.
Amazing service, food was fast coming out and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend!
We are from Canada. The food service and ambiance is fantastic. Definitely returning
food and service are good, timed well to be at the theater 10 minutes before performance.
High noise level, challenging to have a conversation.
Very crowded and loud but great food
This place is really kind of perfect - The extremely personable staff set the tone for an evening of amicable atmosphere and really, really good food. What more could you want?
The location is excellent:near City Center and Carnegie Hall and MOMA. serves all day from an interesting menu full of surprises:a vegetarian antepasta! The food was excellent in quality, presentation and authenticity. Staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, accommodating to our change of plans and to the fact that I use a walker .
The best Italian food in all of New York City, and I’ve had a lot of Italian food.
Thinnest crust pizza I’ve ever had. Antipasto is out of this world… I dream about it 😳.
Will be coming back forever.
Very attentive service, great wine list and the food was spectacular
Great location for Carnegie, city center, Broadway shows. Really good food, big portions (we split an enormous lasagna), nice service.
This was our first visit to this fine traditional restaurant, and we look forward to our next visit.
Our server was extremely attentive to food sensitivities. Thea only negative is the noise level.
Our waiter, Adair, was awesome
I think this restaurant was really impacted by the pandemic closures. We've been going to it for over 30 years. We were so disappointed. The service was slow and inattentive - and we were there early before the theater so it was not busy at all. My lasagna was very dry - like it was several days old. And it has always been my favorite dish there. And no bread offered at the table. Again, we've loved this place for years and hope it will get back to its former self by the next time we visit NYC.
Introduced some friends that were also visiting NYC and they loved it. So expect to see them and their friends and family here!
Delightful dining experience! I had dined once before in 1990 when visiting NY, loved it and seeing it was still open in 2021, decided to try it again. Just as amazing as I remember. Friendly, competent staff, lively atmosphere and ridiculously delicious food. I ordered the lasagna and was thrilled with my decision! Will continue to visit when in New York.
We went here before a show at Carnegie Hall. Our waiter was great, the food was excellent. We were seated in a little alcove with two tables which was nice until another table was seated, then the noise was somewhat bothersome. Overall it was a lovely dinner!
First time visit, great experience, food and service were exceptional.
Some of the dishes are good, but over priced. Unfortunately, all restaurants are dealing with increased food and staff costs, so not unusual.
Service was excellent and it was fairly crowded.
Going back again soon - it was delicious and delightful!
Waiter was excellent!
Busy restaurant, but the food is beyond worth it. Quick and polite service.
One of our favorite places. Comfortable atmosphere, though busy before and after theater, great art work on the walls, excellent Italian food, and superb service (by Anis, a waiter who's been there 29 years). Great place to go for a birthday; you'll be serenaded by all the waiters singing "Happy Birthday Total Stranger."
Eat in the bar. It’s cozy, less crowded and the service is great
Food was delicious— service even better :-)
Incredible food, was probably mine and my new wife’s favorite dinner.
Love thr pizza
