Amazing food, great ambiance
This is a wonderful place. The pasta is delicious. While there is a drink menu, you can bring your own bottle. Great for parties.
It was wonderful, I was a little nervous about the table (it’s one table with a bunch of seats so multiple parties sit at one table) but it was great. A waiter overheard my fiancé and I talking about our wedding and they brought us each a glass of champagne! I also love that it’s BYOB but has alcohol as well. Food was phenomenal, we can’t wait to go back!
Way under staffed for a busy brunch and forgot part of our order.
Wonderful food, wonderful service! The spaghetti alle vongole and bucatini amatriciana were amazing--absolutely perfect pasta, seemingly simple preparations but complex and exciting flavors. I was slightly nervous because my mother is a real foodie, but she loved the food. Our waitress was amazing--welcoming, warm, knowledgeable, with impeccable timing. Everyone we encountered there, for that matter, was awesome--we never once had to ask for anything because everything was anticipated, e.g. our water glasses were never empty, we were never wondering when the food was coming or where menus or flatware or anything were. This was so nice because it allowed my mother and I to have a great conversation that brought us closer together. Thank you, Carina!
Took my girlfriend here for a valentines dinner and had the best experience ever. Great service and ambiance and the food was incredible. Highly recommend to anyone!!!!
Truffle lasagna was ridiculous. One of the best things I've ever had and a solid wine pairing for the 4 course prix fix meal. A little uncomfortable table sitting with my elbows touching the people next to me but not the worst set up in the world
Always the best experience here. Great food, great service, excellent atmosphere.
It was amazing. The time we walked in the service was great. Definitely going back ASAP.
The food was delicious...tender, fresh pasta dishes! Great arugula salad. The service was friendly and accommodating. However, the seating is two long rows of tables, which makes for a noisy and elbow-bumping dining experience. If you want intimacy, this may not be the place for your dinner.
This was our first visit and we had read rave reviews. Overall, we enjoyed the meals, the ambience and quality of service. We enjoyed our cocktails and appetizer. My wife enjoyed her entree as well, me, not so much. I had the "Fish of the day," which was a small halibut filet, but it was surrounded by a thick creamy sauce with a few potato pieces. Other than a slice of focaccia with some green sauce, that was it. I thought this was rather pricey. The desserts, gelato and sorbet were well done and tasty.
Beautiful place, great food, amazing service. It was a tad cramped, mildly aggravated by parties nearby having toddlers in a small space, but worth it.
The food was outstanding, the service was terrific! Staff were friendly and attentive. Next I’m in Phillie I will return!!
We had an amazing experience at Trattoria Carina! Not only is the place absolutely adorable but the service was so friendly, welcoming and personable right from the start. We were celebrating a birthday and a big surprise had some great laughs with our waiter who was so into it as well. Oh and the food, every bite of it, was delicious! Would 10/10 recommend!
Love love! And great waiter... he was awesome!
Tasty food, generous serving. Pleasant, efficient staff.
We dined at Trattoria Carina while visiting Philadelphia over the weekend. We loved every minute of the experience. The restaurant is small and intimate, with lots of character. It's great to visit a small neighborhood restaurant instead of the large, loud chain restaurants in large cities. We started with a couple of cocktails, the House Made Meatballs, my husband had the Bucatini Amatriciana, I had the Chicken Parmigiana and for dessert, we shared the Tiramisu. It was a perfect birthday celebration meal with an extra scoop of chocolate Gelato. Plus, our server was so pleasant and helpful, we couldn't have asked for more. Don't miss out on this great restaurant.
As other reviewers mentioned, the space is very small and loud but the food and service make up for those two drawbacks in spades. Expect wonderful pastas and starters but not an easy time at having a private conversation. Will definitely be back.
Loved that the regular menu was offered along side the restaurant week menu for brunch. I had the frittata with cauliflower and broccoli rabe. So very good! Not at all dry. Nice selection of items that are vegetarian friendly. Gemelli with pesto was excellent
May not be as well known as Parc for their brunch, but if you’re looking for a place as tasty, with a cozier atmosphere and friendlier staff then try Trattoria Carina. They have a very nice blend of classic quality breakfast choices and their own signature plates. We loved their meatballs, lemon curd....and their Bloody Marys are fantastic.
I went for restaurant week and it was wonderful. Usuall with restaurant week the restaurants give you smaller portions, but here the portions were huge. The food was delicious, the staff was incredibly sweet and attentive, and the space is intimate and nice.
The food is always very good; the staff is warm and attentive. But the restaurant is much too noisy. Moreover, almost half the seats are at a communal table, which is cramped and lacking the least graciousness. Great for the college crowd, not so great thereafter.
It had been forever since we had been to this neighborhood gem, so when restaurant week gave us a chance - we rolled... The octopus and beans - well, best in the city. The gemelli was a delicious surprise and the bolognese was rich and filling. The tiramisu with the amaro twist was terrific and a great tweak to an old favorite. I love that this is both a BYOB and has a nice bar and wine list. Next time we will tee up a pre-drink cocktail to complement our BYOB wine..
The meatballs were outstanding!!! Nice touch that they served us a glass of champagne on the house because we had to wait for a short ime for our table. Definitely will go back.
Food is amazing. Pasta is best in the city!
Nice 3-course prix fixe menu for New Year's Eve. Pasta dishes were outstanding. I'll be back to try their regular menu.
Best restaurant in Philly
Outstanding service with incredible food. We spent NYE and had the special menu. Simply amazing spot!
An absolutely wonderful way to spend NYE in the city. The food was spectacular and each course was better than the next. We will definitely be back!
We had the New Year's Eve dinner and wine tasting - both aspects of the meal were awesome! This is our favorite restaurant in Philly.
I liked most everything about it and plan to return. The only hiccup was the time it took to entrees to come out after finishing appetizers. Management and wait staff were very good and apologized.
Loved our food, drinks and the server was hands on and well versed in the menu.
Carbonara was too salty
Our daughter who lives in Philly took us to Trattoria Carina for pasta. We found the food delicious, the portions a little light, and the prices high. Our waitress was very pleasant, but the overall ambiance was a little sparse & simple for an evening meal. We liked the BYOB option, even though they also serve their own wine. I would recommend all the pastas we tried, which were the cacio e pepe, tagliatelle with beef ragu, and the white clam sauce pasta. All in all, it was a very nice experience.
One of our favorite spots everything is beautifully prepared and delicious!
Can't wait to come back. Just delicious. Thank you!
Great atmosphere and service. The food was good, but was a little salty for my liking (and I love salt!). I would recommend for dinner or everyday dining. They do serve cocktails, but what they do not advertise is they are too a BYOB.
Overall good experience- just lessen the salt content and it would have been an even better experience.
Best restaurant in Philly. Consistent. Cozy. Fun.
