everything we ordered was really delicious. the waiters were just right, attentive, friendly, without overdoing it. they were also helpful with suggestions
Our favorite spot. Delicious fresh pasta with a wonderful friendly atmosphere.
Way too tight. I had to listen to the couple next to us fighting. We paid $90 to do that. Food was excellent and location convenient to our home so we went. Will think very long before going again
Cannot rave enough; the ambiance & service were sublime. Meatballs to die for. Ditto tiramisu. There was one entree that fell short of spectacular and they immediately offered something else, took it off the bill and did not charge for the replacement.
Cool little neighborhood spot in a great location right on the corner of a beautiful residential street. The ambiance is perfect - cozy yet modern and vibrant. The service was honestly some of the best we've ever experienced - our waiter was attentive and just had a great, positive and engaging personality that made our experience that much better. We would have to go back and try more things to really give the food a fair rating, but the branzino and chicken parm dishes were very good, but I wouldn't say they were great. We've certainly had better versions of these dishes at other local restaurants. I'd give it a B+. The one major disappoint for us personally was that they didn't have gluten free pasta. Being that it's a menu where the majority of the Mains are pasta dishes, you would think they would offer it to accommodate those with gluten allergies or intolerances. Makes no sense to me. Unfortunately we probably won't go back for that reason, unless we hear that changes.
Food and service were both great; but too many diners crammed into a small space makes for a noisy and nosy experience
Great Italian food. Chicken Parm was amazing. Highly recommend
Fulfills it’s mission to be a reasonably priced neighborhood Italian. Close packed tables in a noisy box of a room. The loudly drunk ladies at the next table made conversation hard at times. Food was excellent. Service folks were gracious and knowledgeable but not attentive - kept running out of water, bread, olive oil, our discretely waving hands went unseen. Nonetheless look forward to going back with my family.
Such an amazing place! First time here and we will definitely be back. Service, ambiance and food were incredible. Some of the better food we have had in the city, and we’ve eaten all over. Brunch was amazing had the brioche/mascarpone toast special, meatballs, potato/onion tart and the eggs alla Anna. Everything was so damn good, this is also coming from a chef in the city. Can’t wait to come back for dinner!
This was our first trip to Trattoria Carina. Everything was wonderful. The menu was different and fun. The food was beautifully prepared by a chef who obviously cared about what he was creating. The waitstaff was lovely. They were warm, friendly, and eager to make our birthday celebration a very happy one. We'll be back soon!
If you haven't had the pleasure of dining at Carina you should book your reservation immediately. Some of the best food in center City Philadelphia. The new chef is doing wonders with the menu. Also, check out her brunch service on the weekends. It's amazing!!!!!
The service and food were both excellent. Definitely recommend brunch.
It was a very small restaurant. The service and staff were very friendly and awesome.,however, I hated the seating arrangements. That was the only downside. Food was heavily seasoned.... spicy or peppery!
Food was excellent!
Brunch for restaurant week. My husband’s favorite restaurant in Philadelphia.
Usually pretty good but if you are an Italian trattoria and your broccoli rabe comes out mushy and brownish in color, disappointing. However, they immediately apologized and removed from bill. I chalk it up to Restaurant Week crowd.
Everything is always perfect!! One of our favorite spots in the city. Doesn’t get any better ❤️ Best carbonara outside of Rome!!! 😄
One of the best meals we have had in a while.
Staff is beyond friendly. Feel like we knew them
Will come back and Recommend very highly
Amazing neighborhood spot with great ambiance, food, wine, and staff.
Exceptional food and superb service. I real gem!!
Truly excellent hand made pastas and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Having lived in Italy for four years and married an Italian/Croatian I can say with conviction that Trattoria Carina is the real deal!
Thursday evening, Trattoria Carina was bustling with many diners. Since this restaurant opened in our neighborhood we've been wanting to try it. It's a gem. There's no corkage, even though they have a limited drink menu, so effectively it's a place where you can be served a cocktail, then open your own bottle of wine. Caesar salads were fresh; broccoli rabe sautéed with garlic in oil to perfection. Branzino was fresh and served with short, perfectly-cooked pasta. The special, a ragout of chicken and truffles over pasta, was flavorful, pasta well cooked (meaning al dente), and portions generous. You may watch your food being prepared, as the kitchen is open. Our meals were delicious and it's a place near home to which we will return.
Casual dining experience with excellent food, and service. Very pleasant staff. My second visit was NewYears Eve, looking forward to my third visit and so on.
Please get the bruschetta! It was amazing.
A cozy Italian restaurant with delicious, authentic Italian menu.
Carbonara dish was bad no one could eat it. chicken parm was dry and tasteless. octopus was decent.
This was the best brunch we have had in years. Thank you for making our Christmas celebration so special!
Food was excellent. Just an overall great neighborhood spot. Will go again and again.
We loved the food. It was great and we will be back again.
Great food and service. Much improved compared to Fitler Dining Room. Would recommend for sure. The meatballs were great, as were the pastas.
It’s my third time and continues to be a very delicious meal!
Our fav neighborhood spot
delicious food, outstanding service, fantastic dining experience. highly recommended!!
Great neighborhood place with good food and friendly staff.
It is billed as excellent Italian. Ziti overcooked. Pork too salty. Would not customize order. So servings are not made to order. Wine poor. Wait staff did not show in depth experience. Overpriced for the quality
There are at leat four other Italian restaurants nearby that are far superior.
We loved everything about it...except the parking...which is horrendous. Food was outstanding, and nice, casual ambiance.
Favorite neighborhood spot
It was a warm and friendly atmosphere , with great service, and the food was creative and delicious!
Lovely staff, intimate and adorable setting, and the best chicken parm I've ever had. I didn't realize they are both full bar & BYO, good to know for next time!
Our new favorite!!!!!!!
