The food at Biagio’s was very good and of course their bread was terrific. A good meal can be had there for a reasonable price. The overall experience is not good. Our group of six were the only people eating in the dining room at 7:00pm on a Friday. I am not sure if it’s there policy of charging extra for credit card use or the bland surroundings. Hopefully they can turn it around because the chefs dishes were delightful.

First the nice things: the tablecloths were nice, parking was easy and nice, and the hostess had a nice smile. The food? The worst I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot of meals in 71 years, including three years of living in Italy. A soup of pasta and beans was a dish of old tubes with a little bit of cut-up tomatoes (it was sent back). Beef short ribs resembled boiled roadkill swamped in a tasteless goo straight out of a can. Even the pasta looked like it was scraped off I-78. When we left we drove straight to Shop Rite and got something to eat. But hey, I learned the Italian word for “inedible”: BIAGIO.

The food was excellent and we had a great experience! The only thing that surprised us was the credit card service fee that we were charged, it was our first time dining in and we did not know about a credit card fee, or we would have paid cash. We will definitely come back though :)

We happily fell upon Trattoria Biagio when another reservation was cancelled at the last minute. How lucky for us! The restaurant was clearly a local favorite and every table was full. We entered via the attached bakery… another lucky thing! The bakery case was sparkling clean and filled with beautiful Italian cookies. We were seated immediately in a table for two right near the door. Not the ideal seat… but we were very last minute reserving. The restaurant is a BYO, so we were given wine glasses and bread and were able to enjoy a glass of wine while we perused a very extensive, traditional Italian menu. Our order was taken in a reasonable amount of time and our salads were brought out. The noise level was high. It is a family friendly place and everyone was talking and laughing. It was a busy Saturday night! It took a long time for our meals to arrive, but it was well worth the wait!! Our waiter explained there is one chef who is making each meal to order so it takes a bit longer. We had the homemade gnocchi with bolognese and the chicken special; a thin breast stuffed with spinach and cheese, rolled and pan sautéed and served with a mushroom sauce. Both meals were outstanding. We were too full for dessert but were able to select an assortment of cookies from the bakery to take home. Overall, it was a very good experience and we plan to return with friends. If you are looking for a great meal… and have the time to wait for it…try Trattoria Biagio. You will not be disappointed!

Due to inclement weather, our original plans with friends fell through and we decided to be adventurous and seek a new dining experience. We arrived at our new find and was pleasantly greeted and taken care of royally. Our dinner started with a delicious capresse salad with burrata, tomatoes, roasted red peppers, basil and the best aged balsamic vinegar. Our main entrees consisted of outstanding Salmon Del Pavese-Pan seared Salmon steak served with sautéed cannelloni beans and Pork Shank Osso Bucco over mushroom risotto... The meat fell off the bone and I was informed it was cooked for 18 hours. Great flavor and delicious. Cappuccino and Dessert (jelly donut) ended our happy experience.. Meeting Chef Biaggio was a special treat.

Started out great with delicious and interesting breads. Very disappointing meal! Veal Marsala tasted like salt lick and made with canned mushrooms! Sauce was weak, runny and overly salted. Note that entrees were all $6-7 more than the menu prices posted through opentable. Would not return!

We went two couples. Food was amazing and the owners Carmela and Biagio where fantastic. I have a food allergy with salt and because everything is freshly made, there was no problem with making me a meal without salt.

Wonderful place. Food was awesome. Staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. They were extremely busy but remained calm and checked in with us at a perfect cadence to make sure we had what we need. I'll be back!

Loved everything about this restaurant!! Family owned and they do everything right! Authentic Italian food is outstanding, we can’t say enough good things about this place. Don’t forget to bring home pastries from their Italian bakery as well, you won’t regret it!

We would highly recommend Bilagio. It’s a great little gem with BYOB. Food was fantastic. My husband said it was the best tuna he’s ever had and we loved the Fradiavolo shrimp as an appetizer. The multigrain cranberry bread is so tasty and I can’t wait to buy and serve it for Thanksgiving dinner. We will be returning! Thank you

We went there for dinner after making a reservation that Open Table accepted. The system asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating. When we got there, the place was CLOSED!! Why even bother taking reservations if you’re not going to be there. Pathetic. We try to support local places and they didn’t even have the courtesy to disable their reservation system.
