Fabulous place! Always perfect food and perfect atmosphere. Authentic Italian food, light crispy crust on pizza, paparadelli al dente and sauces so flavorful. Top it off with authentic homemade tiramisu with cappuccinos. Superb.
Everything was awesome Thanks for the experience, Esmeralda!
One of my absolute favorite restaurants.
The food was fresh and delicious. The owner was friendly and very accommodating. Thank you for a delicious lunch. Will definitely be back.
Best authentic Italian restaurant in the area. Recommend to anyone who enjoys high quality food and service.
The food was amazing. It is not ridiculously expensive, and I would go back again and again!
One of our favorite places !!! Food is absolutely delicious , very authentic Italian cooking . Very comfortable , relaxing atmosphere . Great, friendly service!
Party of 4, we all enjoyed our meals. Great tasting authentic Italian dishes.
Awesome and authentic Italian food. We love everyone here, service is great and always happy. Cannot wait to come back soon.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Seeing the favorable reviews, my wife and I decided to give it a try. The bread and arugula/beet/ chèvre salad was very good. The waitress ignored us. The wait waited. A nearby group expressed dismay and brought the waitress- one of two, to tears. She explained there were only two cooks in the back. She was noble, but broken.
After a 1 hour and 10 minute wait, we received the dinner. The second waitress did not recognize the sole Francese under a pile of wet spinach- does sole Francese have spinach? One lemon wedge. It was small and wet—no batter or coating. Terrible. My meal was unintelligible- lasagna. The noodles were tender and there was a bechamel under the layer—it seemed like a loose pile of large noodles. The Bolognese sauce was like chef boyardee.
We shook our heads. Told the waitress the place came highly regarded and it did not live up to standard. No dessert. No coffee. All tolled, with one wine and one salad- $70
For two people on a Covid night, this was a
Deplorable disappointment.
This restaurant is a must visit. We have dined here 3 times so far and each time has been consistently fabulous. The food is thoughtfully & authentically prepared, the wine menu is diverse with many options available from different regions in Italy, and the service is always top notch. We live in New Britain so it’s a hike to drive to this restaurant but it is so worth it. We look forward to visiting again soon!
Went there for a birthday dinner and had a great meal. The chef and server were terrific - it was a slow night mid week in Feb and they offered to make a combo that wasn’t on the menu I had a pork shank w Paparadelle and it was outstanding and a great combo. My wife had cavatelli w sausage. Both were great. Overall I’d say The food is excellent the staff is friendly and accommodating. Parking is very easy. My glass of wine was ok not great. Overall Price was very reasonable. I would recommend it and will be back
Food is amazing and the staff are always friendly and first class
It was a wonderful experience! The restaurant was exceptionally quiet. There was beautiful italian music We came on a late Sunday afternoon in the rain...the owner/chef and his partner couldn’t have been more attentive. My husband is a native Italian, and so got to talking with Pasquale and Concetta, both warm and welcoming. We ordered a pizza to share to start, and it was very authentic, with a great crust, not too thin, really tasty. Will definitely come back just to try the other pizzas. The fried calamari was light, tender, and flavorful and came with an oregano based red sauce. Pastas are all homemade, as was the sausage that came with my cavatelli. We shared the tiramisu for desert-really fresh! Overall, the prices were a few dollars less than anything similar, and we go out for
We will definitely be back soon, we’d be regulars if we lived closer.....would definitely recommend to anyone who likes authentic italian country neighborhood food, fresh and flavorful.
Trattoria 'A Vucchella is one of the best restaurants in Fairfield county. I highly recommend it.
Moms birthday
This is by far my favorite restaurant. Food, atmosphere and staff are fabulous!
As always, excellent food and service. Chef/owner will make dishes not on menu if he has ingredients.
Outstanding food, service and attention by owner. Very accommodating!
Everything was outstanding. From the margherita pizza to the desserts and cappuccinos. Outstanding. We will be back.
Simple menu but SUPER quality
Great place and wonderful service!! Would highly recommend
We highly recommend this restaurant the staff was very attentive and very nice. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back very soon. We went at 7pm on a Saturday night and did not have any issues with it being too loud or crowded they are doing a great job keeping everything socially distant. You can even sit outside if you are uncomfortable dining in
Food was fabulous- service was very - drinks took forever from the bar
Food could have been better. Clams were overcooked and so was the pasta. Broccoli rabe was good. Wine was great and so was the espresso.
Great food, nice ambience, and wonderful staff. I will definitely go back again.
Excellent social distancing outside. Excellent wine and food.
We got there early, and sat at the bar.
Bartender was excellent, she was very nice and very accommodating.
After about 15-20 we were sat at a table in the corner by the window.
Our waitress came over and gave us the menus, (didnt get a specials menu). Ordered calamari appetizers, and minestrone soup.
We waited almost 20 min. For bread and oil, then another 20 for appetizer.
Calamari was very good, soup was bland, so we doctored it with pepper and grated cheese.
Another 30-40 min for main course, which only came after we asked bartender to check on it for us.
My lasagna was warm at best, probably sat waiting to be served, my girls risotto, wasn't cooked enough, very tough. Mom's eggplant was very good.
We were very disappointed, but will probably try it again, the place looks so good, this had to be a bad night.
They gave mom a piece of cake for her 75th birthday, nice ending.
Food came out less than 5 minutes after we ordered it. All were lukewarm at best. I guess everything was cooked that morning then microwaved prior to serving. Clearly not made to order. Won’t go back.
What a wonderful restaurant!! From the staff to the food, you MUST try it!!
Best Authentic Italian food I have ever had!! 5 PLUS Stars!!
This was a delightful afternoon luncheon with homemade gnocchi that were amongst the best I have tasted plump and tender with a creamy cheese sauce. Desert panna cotta was also homemade and delicious. Portions were ample, enough for sharing. Overall delightful experience in downtown bridgeport.
Read great things about Trattoria ‘A Vucchella in Connecticut Magazine, and also checked out numerous reviews online. Was excited to visit based on perceived food quality and potential for great homemade pasta. Unfortunately, our experience failed to live up to our hopes. Service was very slow and spotty. Took a very long time to get drinks, servers continually passed by our table when we were clearly finished with a course, orders were delivered to the table with no awareness of who ordered what and when food finally was delivered, it was pretty average. Nothing worth getting even a little excited about. I cannot say I would want to return, ands for that I am very disappointed. Not sure how their ratings were compiled for Connecticut Magazine, but Siena on Summer Street in Stamford, is head and shoulders above this place on every level...and they didn’t even get mentioned. Too bad.
The fish entree was bland, pasta dish was very good. Our table was in the line of traffic. we asked to switch, was told we couldn’t then a table we wanted was given to a couple who cane in after our. Service wasn’t as good this time, we will try again in the future
Got there. Waited 10 mins for the hostess to actually show up to seat us. It took at least 15 mins before our waitress to come over to our table. Ordered wine/drinks which did come quickly. 20 mins later waitress came back to take our order for apps. I ordered soup and she ordered a salad. It took over 25 mins for the apps to come out. My soup was ice cold. Sent it back to the kitchen. Entrees came out 30 mins later. My entree was again cold and her asparagus was full of sand. Her Sea Bass fillet was less that a 1/2” thick with no seasoning. Honestly one of the worst meals we had ever had. Major fail on the restaurant’s part. Overall rating on a scale of 1 to 10... minus 5
Service was poor. The eggplant parm was awful. Basically 4 bites if shreaded eggplant in sauce...for $18. When I asked about it...was told this is the way we make it. Overall-very disappointing
I love ‘A Vucchella. This was the second time that I ate there this week. They do their very best to make you feel like you’re in a restaurant in a small Tuscan (or other region) town. The food is very good, the Italian wine selection is varied and quite good, and the value is terrific. I recommend ‘A Vucchella for an intimate dinner with your spouse or friend or for a special occasion. I doubt that you will be disappointed.
First time and absolutely loved it - by the end of the night we felt like family :-) definitely going back!!
Wonderful service. Food was excellent. Wines were outstanding. Very friendly and engaging wait staff.
This was my second time dining with you. Both times the entrees were a little slow in coming out of the kitchen. It is the only moderately negative observation that I would make. However, It was wonderful to be allowed to linger at the table, reconnect and not feel rushed. Overall, my party of 6 loved it and I believe our overwhelming satisfaction was reflected in our tip!😁
It was amazing!
My salmon was perfection. I am never disappointed. Love this restaurant.
